The store manager (Duane) is great to deal with but I suggest bypassing this store if Duane is not available. The Service Manager, Kyle, comes across as rude/arrogant and is unable to deal with an irate customer whose 71 year old father was left STRANDED on southbound interstate 95 from 11 pm until 5 am because the car OVERHEATED after their shop just installed a thermostat, drained flushed, and refilled the radiator. To top it off Kyle decides to insult the customer (currently fleet management but formerly Ford Certified Adviser) by saying he doubts he knows as much about advising as he says! read more

Called ahead for an appointment. I arrived early and my vehicle was promptly taken (yes, taken early). Wonderful customer service over the phone, a noticeable smile in her voice scheduling my oil change was in contrast to the 1st place I called (the "not Firestone" one) and it actually just got better from there. All told, they had me in and out in under an hour. Walking in, I noted a clean, cheery, comfortable lobby and desks. Front staff, Trinity & Emily, are courteous, delightful, professional and knowledgeable. They made the wait less of a drudgery with sprinkles of friendly conversation. I overheard them greet a handful of other customers during my wait and these great qualities were consistent throughout each interaction with the public. My work truck got the oil change and tire rotation it needed. It's a fleet vehicle so I can't speak to value per se (company pays) but everything else is 10/10. Of significance, the employees were actively removing the "six foot social distancing" stickers from the floor while I was there: That marks the end of an era perhaps, but the start of this being my go-to for my fleet vehicle service. read more

I checked in at noon and I was told it would be 45 minutes and call back, so when I did my price of $353 dollars was then 800$. They hadn't even started on the repair yet, but tried to upsale on what had to be done instead of honor their original price. I went to Firestone just to plug a tire which I bought from them this year since it had a screw in it. Picked up the car, tire was fixed. But somewhere on the way home my wheel cover came off. These wheel covers lock on so obviously it was not put back on correctly. When I called to to tell them I was going to have to spend $40 -$80 for another wheel cover they just said "sorry". No offer to reimburse me or pay for a wheel cover. The customer care in this place has really gone down hill. From now on I will buy tires and get service somewhere else. Let's start at the beginning , Took car in for a nail in a tire , They fixed it just fine ,also suggested new serpentine belt . Since I was already there , I agreed . Two hours later , was told the belt they ordered didn't fit properly , so the old one put back on(fair enough) . Well next morning started car , It's squealing so loud it woke up my neighbors ! Called and reported the issue , Was told by Dan to bring it back and they order the "right size" Once again returned on my one day off for replacement . I brought my car in because the tire pressure was low and asked for it to be looked at since I thought there could be a leak. I left my car two days over night and the only culprit they could provide was that the tire sensor for all 4 tires was out and they needed to be replaced at ~$80 a piece. After being frustrated within the lack of understanding I took my car home and woke up to a completely flat tire. I had roadside assistance come and they found the leak right in front of me right outside my home! A company with more resources like Firestone SHOULD have found it instead of trying to push me toward a $320 unwarranted expense. read more

I went in for $15 patch on a relatively new tire. Tires I bought at that store. I was told that it could not be patched and that I would need to spend $170 for new tire, which just wasn't true. The shop next door had no issue patching the tire. Without prompting or permission, they went through the car and "found" $1,000" worth of work that needed to be done. Except it didn't, none of it. The car was inspected last month and had no issues. They also recommended an alignment despite the fact that it didn't need one and they had done one themselves when the tires were replaced within the last year. Recommended Cabin air filters, and fuel system cleaning. NONE of which was needed. I use a different shop for maintenance and take very good care of that vehicle. I've been a tire customer at that shop for more that 20 years with all of my cars and trucks. This shameless upsell tactic will prevent me from ever using them again. Thanks to the team there for ordering in and mounting and balancing 4 new tires on my BMW. They didn't scratch my wheels when mounting and didn't tear up the lug-nut holes when they remove and reinstall the lug-nuts. Definitely better pricing compared to my dealer quotation for replacement OEM tires. Quick and timely install which is appreciated. One of the tires on my wife's car had a slow leak, so I used a can of Fix-a-flat to make a temporary repair. Fix-a-flat tells you, right on the can, that you need to take the tire to a service center as soon as possible for them to remove the goo, fix the leak, and rebalance the tire -- the goo tends to settle and unbalance the tire. Sure enough, that happened in our case. I took the car to this Firestone store, which I have used before without complaint. I asked them if they could fix the tire, remove the goo, and rebalance it. No, the salesman said. They could only sell us a new tire. That would cost at least $ 150, installed. No thanks. I took the car to the independent car repair place we've used for years (Axselle's, on Lakeside Avenue). Not incidentally, we have also had them put new tires on our cars. Can you fix this, we asked? Of course. I brought the car in the morning, and it was repaired mid-afternoon. Cost: $25.00 Firestone is OK if you want to buy a tire. For anything else --- they sell tires. read more

The customer service was ok but I have been robbed just for a state inspection. It was told to me that I needed a wheel alignment and my headlight bulb was not in alignment which I will fail inspection for. The tires were not even a week old and the salesperson said I didn't need to get it done it was recommended but the headlight was mandatory. I never heard of this so I called my mechanic and he told me that this is a method they use to get money out of u when they can't find anything wrong with ur car. This is my go to place for service on my family cars. The staff is really helpful and often willing to bend over backwards to make things right. Their prices are generally affordable (often better or equal to other shops) and they communicate with you when they find additional items without the hard sell. The last time we had a vehicle in there for tires (they had the best price/quality/warranty - even better than Sam's or Costco) and other service I forgot to mention the car needed an oil change. When my wife and I stopped by to pick up the car near closing time we realized the oversight and the general manager said he would get it done. When he realized all his technicians were still swamped with the store closing in 15 minutes he personally got our car in the bay, changed the oil, and got us out the door in about 10 minutes. I would not have expected that level of service, but they consistently make me a fan of stopping by when I need anything for my car because they realistically communicate time frames and get the job done. Often when I give them a time I would like to pick up the car I get a call well before that time that it is ready to go! read more

We got our 2 flat tires halfway through our 4-hour trip on Christmas Eve, and a towing company helped us find this, one of the only still opened, shops to help us. We ended up buying 2 new tires and an alignment, plus a promotional discount that was not avail until the new year was offered to us. On 7/13/2018 I had my car (2011 Acura TL) towed to Firestone on Brook Rd in Glen Allen Va. I needed a new battery, alternator and belt. They completed the repair and I left. A day after the repair the check battery charge system indicator kept coming on. I called Firestone back and explained the situation and they advised me I can take my car to any firestone and it would be fixed. That following week I took my car to Firestone on Riverdale Rd in Riverdale MD and spoke with Noble. He put the car on the system and said that the car is giving normal readings and he didn't know what the problem was. He explained he was short staffed and that I should take it to silver spring md as they would figure out what the issue was and repair it. Prior to my drive to silver spring I called and explained the situation. The manager agreed with me and stated the check battery charge indicator should not be coming on there was definitely a problem and to bring the car in. I did just that. I took the car in on 7/23 and spoke with David. David explained there was a bad diode in the alternator that was in my car. The new battery that was placed in my car in Glen Allen just 10 days prior was reading 30 months old on the printout from the diagnostic machine. When I saw that I explained that since the alternator was bad they should replace the battery as well considering a 10 day old battery shouldn't be reading 30 months old. He agreed and offered to replace the battery. He stated he needed to order my parts and that I would need to come back. On 7/26 I returned and they supposedly replaced the alternator and the battery. I question if these items were even replaced because the printout from the diagnostic machine read the battery as being 30 months old and they never asked me for the radio code. Anytime a new battery is replaced in an Acura the radio code is required in order to unlock the system. David told me that all batteries read 30 months old. I questioned what he was telling and trusted they had corrected my problem. Once I left, David called me back and said I needed to return immediately because they forgot to do something to my car. I asked what and he would say. Once I pull up, a technician runs out with a plastic container in his hand and asks me to pop the hood. I have a video of all of this. He mashed the container in my car and said I was done. A few days later the check battery charge system light comes on again. At that point I called my credit card company to dispute the charge because I knew that would motivate them to make this issue right. Meanwhile on 8/6 I took the car to the dealership for a diagnostic test. I took it to Pohanka Honda in Upper Marlboro where I dealt with Franklin And Jenee. Franklin advised me that the alternator and the battery were not compatible with my car. He also advised the battery case was missing as well. In the interim on 8/7 The firestone in Glen Allen called me to discus the issue and it was then that they told me they were putting remanufactured parts on my car. I asked why they never advised me they were going to put old parts on my car and that I should've been advised when they initially fixed the car. No one had any answers for me. I explained that either 1 of 2 things should happen. Either they refund me my money so that I can go to the dealership and have the correct parts put on my car or they would need to obtain the parts and make it right by putting compatible brand new parts on my car. They agreed to the latter. I asked them to give me a call when they located the parts and I never received a follow up call. I had to call them back. Meanwhile on 8/8 I had my spouse call and he spoke with Leroy the manager. Leroy told him that he recalled me and opted to put refurbished parts on my car because I appeared to be in a hurry and that he should have told me the parts were refurbished as he previously worked at Acura and knew the parts could cause potential issues. He agrees to personally go pick up Acura parts and says to have my car at firestone at 7am to have the replacement done. A few hours after that conversation Egor called and left a voicemail stating that my part maybe in on 8/9. I immediately call the firestone back and Leroy stated he didn't know why Egor called me because he was personally going to pick the part up and to have my car there at 7am for repair and that it should take at most 2 hours. I follow their directions and arrive on 8/9 as instructed and neither is Leroy there nor my parts. At this point I want a refund because I have given Firestone 5 visits, 4 opportunities to get the issue rectified and nothing is getting done. read more

Why does every Firestone seem to think if a customer walks out thinking "Meh" that's a customer service win? This location is no different. I needed 4 new tires and looked up prices and specials online ahead of time and made the appointment. When I dropped off my car they had to check and make sure those tires were in stock even though it said they were online and they quoted me a price almost $100 more than the "out the door" price I saw online. Apparently they tried to slip some warranty thing in there and hoped I wouldn't notice. I pointed out the price discrepancy and only then did they say "oh it might be because of this warranty..." I get a call saying the rear brake light is out and would I like them to fix it. I knew about this from a vehicle message already and I said yes please fix. They also called claiming I needed an alignment so I agreed to that as well. I go to pick up my car and of course while Paying the cashier passive aggressively points out all the crap I should be doing for my car. Sigh. I just spent almost $800 here. I ask where my car is parked, they couldn't tell me. Ok. After wandering the parking lot I get in and the vehicle message saying I have a rear brake light out instantly pops up. I pull up to the front and go in to ask about that. After much discussion behind the glass a mechanic says "oh you also have a fog out too I didn't fix that." they asked if I got a call about the light and I said yes and to fix what was broken. Why did you tell me about one light and not the other?! I just got a blank stare. They said we can try and fix it, but I didn't have time to wait more. Also on the drive home I checked that new alignment I was sold on. It immediately drifted to the right lane. So not impressed. read more

My Caddy had issues with fuel system after replacing everything in there we realized it was a purge valve they fixed it no hassle no hard time the new manager Vadawn is awesome. Last Friday, my 82 year old grandmother brought her vehicle in the for 2nd time in 30days to inspect the source of her check engine light. The associate who helped her at first was very friendly and hospitable. He said that they'd let her know something in an hour. 1 hour and 15 minutes later, she walked up to the counter to inquire about the status of her vehicle (the car hadn't moved from the parking lot). At this time, the assistant manager was very rude, raised his voice and even questioned her choice in firestone location for the repair. In turn my grandmother became very upset, so much so that she had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital from this establishment with symptoms resembling a heart attack. Took my 2004 Tribute in for inspection. They were courteous & had it ready by lunch as asked. Problems were; 1) they rejected front brake pads, 2) front rotors & 3) wanted me to pay them $558 for a simple brake job. I did it myself & when I used my micrometer I found ALL pads & discs easily/actually passed Virginia state inspection requirments. Since I had it all torn down & parts in hand I went ahead with the replacements. It cost me a total of $103 in parts for lifetime discs & pads doing it myself. SOoo . . . . they told me I needed repairs I didn't need & tried to charge me an exhorbitant amount of money for a simple brake job. I would recommend NOT doing business with these guys. read more

Horrible service. A tire repair took over 3 hours to do. I had an appointment, but I had to wait 3 hours before the car was even brought into their bay. 3 hours. during the work week in the middle of the day. The mechanic i first met was extremely rude and dismissive. in fact every mechanic was bitter angry and aloof. Clearly they were understaffed and overwhelmed. But that is no excuse. More than likely this location has a staffing issue as ive read various complaints regarding repair time. They acted completely nonchalant about the situation and When I demanded the corporate number it was written on a post it note. so corporate does not want to take complaints seriously. I've contacted their corporate office to file a complaint. The only thing that happened Was the manager of that location tried to call me once and that was it. Left his name told me to call back. No apologies, nothing. I wasn't going to waste my time with someone who can't communicate over a voicemail and who seemed completely uninterested with resolving customer complaints. read more

On 01/15 I called to get a price and availability for trailer tire. They said they don't have it but can get it in about 40 min. So, we agreed on it and headed their way. I got there just about under 40 min. (So you have better understanding - I was passing through from NJ to SC, I hail cars on 35' trailer). I walk in, guy name Marco greets me, I told him that I spoke to Leroy and here for trailer tire, they said that tire not there yet, and I've got to wait. Time when I called in was 11:15am, my arrival there 11:50am. So I'm waiting. And waiting. And waiting.... Around 1pm, I'm starting asking question, how much longer? Marco replies: "should be any minute now". So, I'm waiting... Around 1:40 I'm asking the guy to check the status of that tire. Guy name Leroy coming out and asking me what side of the trailer and etc. he asked me if I can drop cars of trailer, I said no. I explained that any 2,5 ton jack will lift it without any problems, I also explained that I could drive up on block to help lifting as well, he replies "Ok" and disappears inside. So, I'm waiting, waiting... Time is now 2:25ish... I'm asking Marco to make a phone call to person who supposed to make a delivery, he calls someone, they telling him 15 min... At 3:15 I'm getting frustrated and upset and then finally, truck pulls in with my tire. I'm thinking "great".... But hold on... I'm still waiting and waiting..around 3:40 I'm pink on the face asking Marco what's going on?! He goes inside of the shop and tells me, sorry... we can put it on because we don't have a jack that can lift this trailer?!?!? WHAT?!!?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!? Took my girlfriends car to get her a.c fixed it took them an entire day which is fine, but we get the car back the a.c works for maybe a day. So we take it back again a week later 4 hours and some change later and 800 bucks! They say its fixed my girlfriend drives it off the lot and the a.c works for literally 5 mins we turn back around take it back again they say ok itll be a few minutes to check it out and here i am 2 hours later still sitting here waiting. My take aways from this location - They DO NOT LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER. I had to tell them the same info over and over during multiple visits and calls. They did not worry about providing me the information about a diagnosis that I specifically requested. I had to make a phone call and a second visit to their location. I spent 500 dollars on brakes and an oil change. I was charged nearly 150 dollars just for diagnostics...which at MOST other garages, is discounted to $0 when you pay for additional services. I can get a diagnostic at Advance or Autozone for free. There is nothing that this garage does that is special other then hooking it up and pulling a code. Then checking the possible issues that the code is indicating. The mark up on their parts is ridiculous. You can purchase your parts at an auto parts store for a 50% to 75% discount over the cost of the parts at this garage. They advised a temp sensor was 75.00 when the most expensive at O'reillys is $40, Autozone is $28, and Advance is $31. Come on! That is price gouging! I will not take my car to this location again unless I am in a major bind! read more

I will never return to this Firestone, or any Firestone for that matter. I have been a customer at this store for several years. Paul always greeted me by name, communicated clearly about my car, and made sure my services were completed to my satisfaction, on time. I made an appointment yesterday to purchase four new tires this morning, not with Paul. I indicated I had to leave town at 10:30 am and was assured my car would be ready by 10:30 if I had it there by 7:30 am. I drive 40 miles to this store, even though there are others much closer, because Paul always provided excellent customer service. I had someone follow me 40 miles to drop off my car last night, 40 miles home, then had someone take me 40 miles this morning to pick it up at 10:30. It was not even in the bay. I was not greeted by anyone. Two staff were on the phone. The third one, whose desk I approached, never said a word, such as, "Someone will be with you." He just grunted and pointed at one of the men on the phone. When he got off the phone, I explained my situation, that I was promised my car at 10:30 and it was still outside. He just looked at me. I said, "Give me my keys. I have to go somewhere else." No apology, no offer to start the job then, no conversation at all. He just got my key and gave it to me.
