In October of 2025 I brought my 2016 Hyundai Tucson to the Dover, DE location for a set of brakes and rotors (I can't remember if it was front or back at this point it's been so long) and four new tires. I paid $1600 for the service. About a week later, the front tire on the passenger side falls off my car (due to improperly installed lug nuts) while it's in motion. This caused extensive damage that ended up totaling my car. The company accepted full liability, but once they learned that the damage would cost more to fix than the value of my car, they were no longer willing to fix it. The claims department offered a settlement for what they deemed to be the value of the car. Although, I was financing the vehicle, so I could not accept it. Aside from the eventual conclusion of the car being deemed a total loss, I had to deal with a tow truck driver threatening to impound my car due to not being paid by Firestone. I also had to deal with Enterprise Rental Car threatening to charge my debit card since they hadn't been paid either. Both situations took emotional distress and anger on my part to resolve. The accident happened in October of 2025 and my car wasn't fully evaluated and totaled out until February of 2026. On 3/11/26 at 3pm we took our car to get an oil change and vehicle inspection. I scheduled ahead of time this appointment. I had not heard anything from by 6pm so I called them and they said they had not gotten to it and would not be able to get to to it that day. I told them that I needed the vehicle by 12pm the next day. I called the next day at 11:30am and asked what what going on with the vehicle. The guy responded they had not gotten to it. I ask why did I even schedule an appointment for 3pm the previous day ? His response well we had a lot of Enterprise cars to take care of. I told him that I would be there at 12pm to get my car and not to do anything. This was a total waste of my time and someone totally forgot about our car. My wife received a phone call telling her that she needed new tires. She told the shop employee that he would have to discuss it with me. He then tried to sell me new tires. He said that they were down to the wear indicator. I told him that I would check the condition of the tires and purchase some when needed. I would shop around for the best value. He interrupted me and said, "WE HAVE TIRES HERE." Duh!!! The name Firestone Tires would have given me that clue!!) My response was "I know, but I will shop around," and I thanked him for the advice. He then said, "NEVER MIND" and hung up the phone. He must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!!!! When we picked up the car, the invoice said, "THE CUSTOMER DECLINED TO EVEN TALK ABOUT PRICING OF TIRES." He needs to understand that I wasn't obligated to discuss pricing. We discussed the need for tires, and I told him that I would shop around if I needed some. Wheel weights did not stick and flew off hitting the inside of my fender. I called Firestone and spoke to Cody, he said bring it right up there. when I got there I told him I had to leave Dover at 1:30 to get to the wedding this was at about 9:30am. Mom has been taking her cars to Firestone for many, many years. John took her in upon arrival (with an appointment) and they quickly began to work on any needed repairs but she came in for an oil change and freon for her air conditioner. Well, maybe 15 minutes later, she was done. She didn't need any freon - she had the air set incorrectly. She didn't need an oil change as she had not been driving as much as she normally would, due to the pandemic. This was absolutely the WORST service experiance ever ! I went on line shopping for tires and found the ones that were a good by. I called on Friday and spoke to Cody and told him what tires I want to purchase. He said ok I wil have to put in an order and they will be here Monday by 10am. Grat so he said do you want to make an appointment Monday ? I sais yes and he said would 1pm work? I said perfect and I will see you then. Well I show up at 1pm Monday and Cody checked me in. From there it was down hill like jumping off a cliff. Look I can see they were busy and I also had seen there were customers not happy. So 2:30 my car was moved to the shop yay. At 3:15 I hear Cody telling one of the co workers that the brand tires I wanted WERE CANCELLD SATURDAY because money was owed to the supplier ! So what does Cody do ( remember he checked me in a few hours ago) he said I have to call mr. Weber to say we don't have the tires. So I am in the showroom and told him I am Mr. Weber and I have been waiting for a long time. So he tells me that he does not have the tires but the ones he does have are $95 more per tire. I am NOT HAPPY so I told him I will just take my car with the dried out tires. He said no problem. So I wait for more than a half hour and asked him where is my car. His response is Mr. Weber they are backing it out of the shop right now. So I am waiting at least 20 minutes and guess what.....my car is up on the lift and they are putting my wheels back on.....so he LIED to my face!! The car finally comes out and I go out to it only to find that one of my center caps are missing. I know for a fact that I had all of my center caps when I got out of my car. So I asked the guy where is my center cap? He tells me that is the way you dropped it off. Wrong thing to say so I told him no either you forgot to put it on or you broke it taking it off or putting it on. So his response is no it was not there when you dropped it off again. So know I am agrevated and told him NO and I want Firestone to pay for my cap. He kind of snickered and said Firestone will not. Well he knew I was pissed so I asked him where is my key? He said no problem I will get it. Well the "missing" cap was in his hand when he came out and put it back on and handed me the key. No apology what so ever. Also the least Cody could have done is call me to say Mr. Weber I don't have your tires and we will have to reschedule another day, this way I would not be sitting there for 3 hours for nothing. I'm rating this establishment at a 2 primarily based on their reliability. I have brought my fleet Velez to them on numerous occasions for repair/maintenance. The work they perform is adequate but they never call to let me know when the vehicle is completed. They always ask for my number which they already have on file but they never seem to call me I always have to call them. I showed up to pick up my vehicle Sunday morning when they're supposed to open. I dropped my van off the day before at 8am. It wasn't completed until 5:30 that day. I wasn't able to get back at that time since Colby had already told me the van would be ready at 4:30. I had to call him and tell him I will be in the next day, today to pick up. I arrived just before 9am on a Sunday along with a few other customers waiting for their cars but no one was there. There were some workers even waiting to get in but the key holder hadn't arrived yet. Clearly someone needs ti be reminded what time they open on Sundays. It's not a good look for the business to have customers and their mechanics waiting outside for the manager to get there and open up. Come on Firestone. You have to do better! read more

I was going to Firestone for a few years. They were always good to me. I didn't notice any nefarious activity when it came to diagnosis and charges. I could pop in for air, with no problem and no charge. The workers knew me and we had a good relationship. I trusted them. Issues were always fixed, never went back for the same issue. Then slowly all the people I knew began leaving. A particular manager took over. He was not the most friendly person and the workers seemed stressed. One time in 2018, I spent 7 days in the hospital. The day I got out, one of my tires was very low, so i drove over to Firestone seeking help. That manager had some female sidekick that was equally unpleasant. So, i asked for the air, she went in the back, came back out and said that wawa has free air, rudely, like i didnt know that. I was exhausted and just didnt feel like doing it. Never had an issue with them before. They were not too busy and i was too weak and tired to argue. Another time, under this same manager, my car needed a couple of particular valves replaced. Firestone told me it was one thing and wanted to charge me well over a thousand dollars. Since I could not afford that, I took my car elsewhere and discovered it was not what they said but something different. Well the valves were replaced by the other car place for a couple hundred dollars less. I was entirely disappointed and saddened that Firestone had let me down after so many good years. This situation and the fact that they had that new manager that was scary and mean caused me to pay off my Firestone credit card and quit going to them. The other day I needed air in one of my tires so I had no choice but to pop in since i was close by and almost late for work. I was just gonna see if I could get around that manager. We'll lo and behold, they hv a new manager. A WONDERFUL man named Colby. Very personable, knowledgeable and respectful. Now, I only got air but we spoke briefly about tires, because I need a new set, and he even gave me a quote. The place even had a diffrrent air about it. I had the lifetime brakes put on my car 4 years ago. Since then I have had to replace my brakes every year. My rotors have had to be replaced every time it cost 350 dollars because magically they aren't covered under warranty. Firestone installs substandard parts that wear very fast. All you really save with lifetime brakes is labor and pads. They will ALWAYS find a way to explain away a few hundred dollars. I'm done read more

I can;t say enough good things about the service that was provided. We were driving to OBX from Nj and our air conditioning went out. We called Car dealers and Firestones in Norfolk and no one could take us. We were 45 minutes outside of Dover when we called the Firestone in Dover. DaRon answered the phone and said they couldn't do a full service a/c diagnostic but they could recharge it for us. We told him what time we would arrive and he said it would not be a problem. We arrived at 12:30 and DaRon couldn't have been more friendly. He looked up our account and got us registered. He told us that would get us started in a few minutes. By 12:40 they started working on the car. We had two dogs with us and it was about 93 degrees out. My wife went inside to us the bathroom and Matt, one of the other front end service people said we could bring the dogs inside to the small waiting area. Very gracious. By 1:15 the car was ready and we were back on the road. Superior customer service and incredibly accommodating!! Can't believe they took us in on short notice and got us back on the road in 45 minutes. I was even told by the representative over the phone that he was giving me a 10% discount. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle they charged me over $300 and said other fees that were not disclosed to me at all over the phone conversation that I had. These guys are complete rip off. I don't know why they call this Complete Auto Care. I took my car in because it started to roar and I was told something was wrong with my muffler. I asked them to do an oil change while it was there so I wouldn't have to go to another auto repair shop for that. I was called and told my car was ready. When I went to pick up my car, they had done the oil change, but nothing else. They then told me it probably was my catalytic converter, which they weren't able to fix. I would have to take it to a "specialty shop". So, they do not do complete auto care. They should rename it Incomplete Auto Care! I wonder if they can do anything but sell tires and do basic auto care. I have found another auto care center in Dover that is not a "specialty shop" who states that they can repair my converter or muffler or whatever it is. We shall see. read more

Had a little mix up initially with the wrong size tires being put on. Didn't even realize it for a few days until my service 4wd light came on. Long story short, it was the wrong tires which wouldn't typically warrant a 5 Star review. However, the manager recognized that it was their mistake and didn't hesitate. Don't bother going here. Had a leaking valve stem, dropped off the tire and 2 1/2 hours later I get a call saying that a plug I have in my tire (which I installed myself) was leaking and they could not fix it, and I must buy a new tire. I picked up the tire only for the work order to state they installed a new tire stem valve (it was still dirty and obviously not new), that they installed a plug (I assume they think I got it done at a shop and that I didn't know what it looked like so they could pull one over on me), and then apparently "balanced" my unrepaired tire. Definitely going to have a dispute about this as the most I'm willing to pay is $.50 for the soapy water they used. Classic rip off shop. read more

After an outside shop had ruined part of my suspension, the Firestone guys paid for the replacement parts & labor as well as a rental car for 4 days. I received a multitude of apologies for the inconvenience from numerous employees and a sizeable discount on the bill once I did get my car back. HIGHLY recommended shop. I took my vehicle here to get some front end noise diagnosed. They were very professional and fit me in ahead of schedule. They called after they confirmed the issues with my vehicle. They explained all the issues and then I agreed with some of the repairs. I was never pressured to do all the services suggested. As a mechanic this is one of the first shops I've taken a vehicle to that they have not tried to get one over on me. Every employee I came in contact with was professional and explained everything very well. They also provided me with an estimate of the optional repairs if I chose to do them in the future. I've been to this dealership three times now. The first time was to repair work that another Firestone dealer screwed up. The second time was for a basic oil change. I made an appointment for 7:30 am and it took close to 45 minutes for the oil change to be completed. The third time I made an appointment for a 7 a.m. oil change and informed them that I would be waiting for my car to be serviced. When I got there, their waiting room was under construction and there was no where for me to wait. They never bothered to tell me that it wouldn't be possible for me to wait to have the oil change completed. They told me I should call someone to come pick me up. At 7:00 am, that wasn't possible. Two days after I had my tires changed, wheel alignments, oil and break fluid change done that costed $350. I accidentally hit a cur while parking that blew my tire off. When I brought the tire back to the showroom, I learned that there is not warranty on and I had to buy a new one for replacement. I was not told about the warranty policy. Few minutes pass by advisor comes to the waiting area and asks. "Which tire is it". Finally done at 430pm. The change of management since a certain advisor retired seems dismal. This place isn't even worthy of one star but I'm just going to give it to them ONLY because of their tires. I took my car to Firestone August 13, 2014 because I needed four new tires and a wheel alignment. The tires were absolutely wonderful but I then find out 4 months later, they missed the main factor to doing a proper alignment and never did it so I paid $80 extra for nothing (thanks to Sears Auto Center). I go to Firestone to let them know that they never did an alignment so they realigned the wheels (or so I thought). Also I had to pay $115 for the parts they missed which I shouldn't have paid for shit. I take my car back to Sears so they can work on the axle and I find out that Firestone use the wrong bolts and now Sears has to wait til the morning to finish the job. The labor at Firestone is absolutely disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach. Nobody should have to pay these prices for the piece of shit work that these people do. If you ever notice the Firestone commercials, they are only about tires and that is something that they seriously need to keep doing and only doing. I recommend everybody and I mean EVERYBODY go to Sears Auto Center at the Dover Mall for the best quality service an even more cheaper price. You seriously won't regret it read more

In February on 2014 went to Firestone at 625 S Bay Rd, Dover, DE, have a tire repaired due to a roofing nail. They did a patch\plug that still holds to this day. But here is where the issue lies. They told me that I had less then 4 MM of front brake pads, and NEED to get them replaced soon along with possibly the rotors! I had 55,000 miles on the car at that time, a 2014 Altima. Now I commute 500 miles a week for work all highway. I may hit the brakes about 6 times the whole trip. I am thinking what crappy OEM's. I got laid off and did not have the money to replace. Yesterday I go to Mr Tire closer to my new home, to get 2 new tires and brakes checked. They came out and said I still have close to 8 MM of front brakes left. They asked if I was hearing or feeling any issues with them. I explained what was said to me in February. Mr Tire did not say anything bad but just gave me "that look."
