First and foremost, I am very grateful they are open on a Sunday. I popped in when they opened and was out the door in an hour. Kept showing a low tire sensor despite having filled the tire myself. They couldn't find a leak either and suggested to replace the valve stem, which was the cheapest option. The lady at the reception desk could not have been kinder and honest. The technician came out to talk to me and double checked my car before I left. I was thoroughly impressed by both of them. Initially my car was as serviced for Front and Rear brakes. Advised I must obtain new rotors for brake function completion on 9/10/25. Fast forward brakes noisy when I back up as well as car shaking when brakes are applied on the freeway. I returned my car on 10/2/25. Same result. I made three formal complaints with Bridgestone support and finally received an email returned. I made another appointment for service on 11/3/25 no record of appointment upon arrival. I had a confirmed appointment at 10am on a Saturday for a simple tire rotation. Called them 2 hours later at noon for an update when it'd be completed. Was told my car was in queue and "it would be a while" still. Not sure what "a while" means, and she couldn't give an estimated time. Called again at 3pm and was told they couldn't complete the service. Not sure what the point of requesting an appointment, having them confirm said appointment request and bringing my car in on time was all for. I had prior obligations later that day and had to have my boyfriend pick my car up before they closed or else it would've just sat there until Monday. Do not take take your car to Firestone for repairs unless you love overpaying for things you dont need. There was a noise coming from the front right side of the car when I hit bumps in the road. They took a look and provided a laundry list of items I needed to repair totaling over $2600. Just to fix the noise the cost was $1096. I took my car somewhere else. My drama of the Week!  Short version! I took my car in for warranty work at: Firestone Complete Auto Care"Corktown"1801 Michigan AveDetroit, Michigan 48216 They received my car on a Monday. That day they had a power outage and called to inform me they were closed. Tuesday no call to pick up my car. Wednesday no call to pick up my car so I called them. Wednesday after receiving the good news no charge for the work under warranty I start my car only to discover the catalytic converter ($3500  + expense) was stolen. The manager informs me that cars vandalized on their lot have been and continue to be problematic.  Firestone did not secure my car. Firestone response - we are not responsible - do not return to our store for any service on this car. Again this is the short version. Needless to say, the reason for my low rating! Something has changed, I use to get great service here for the past 4 years. I always bring my car here for oil change & tire rotation. They told me I had 10K plus left on my front breaks, but in 5K they were grinding & cost me hundreds of dollars. If I could give 0 stars I would! The staff can be rude... Took them a week to order a wheel for my car. They never followed up with me. I followed up with them every day to see if it has arrived, which is fine. Spent 300+ dollars for my wheel and tire. Waited for several hours until it was done. The tire was FLAT the next day. I had to Uber to work! Called them and instead of an apology and reassurance, they told me that I ran over a nail on the road... I drove the car for less than 2 miles. They said they have no appointment and they won't prioritize my car if I bring it in!!!! this is incredibly inconvenient and the behavior is unacceptable! Customer service at its worst! This is LITERALLY THE WORST Firestone I've ever been to, and I'm done going back even for small things. I grew up going to Firestone and started using this one when I moved to Michigan, but they are ENTIRELY UNRELIABLE. At least three of the tires they've placed on my car have failed during the warranty period, and sure, they've replaced or patched them for free, but EACH TIME MESSING SOMETHING UP. The first time at the beginning of February 2021 they patched one rear tire and by the time I was home that evening the other rear tire was flat. They didn't refill the spare from when I was in there earlier, so I was SOL and even though it was their fault I had no spare they refused to help me and I had to tow it back for the other rear tire. And just today I brought it in for them to check the tire pressure because the indicator light was on. When they went to test the air, the front driver side valve stem came off with the cap. They replaced the stem (at my cost for parts, their's for labor) and sent me on my way. I double checked pressure this evening to make sure the tire was fixed and the front ones are at 35 PSI, but the back are both at 25 PSI (32 is recommended), meaning they didn't bother to check all four tires and fill them up. If you want to spend all your time at the auto shop, this is your place... but if you want reliable service that's done right the first time, go elsewhere and save yourself the trouble. The only positive is that they can usually fit you in day of or next day. And there are good restaurants nearby while you wait... read more

This is my second time visiting this location in the last few weeks, so a review is due! I called ahead of time to see if I could bring my car in for a slowly leaking tire before work, and they said yea and told me when to come by at 7:30. I was quickly greeted and helped when I arrived, and was able to leave my car there for the day while I went to work. They called to let me know that it was done and ready, and only $20! I picked up my car and it was all perfect. I found another slowly leaking tire a week later and had a similar great experience. In case you're able to sit and wait for your repair, the waiting room is nicely air conditioned and they have a TV and comfy chairs. The bathroom was also decently clean. Got there at 5 was told the work wasn't finished because the mechanic working on it left for the day. The employee working the register said there was nothing he could do. When I asked for the manager I was told he just left. I was livid and made him call the manager. After yelling I was reluctantly told they would complete the job. This is the kind of shop you always hear about - where you take your car in for a brake change, and you wind up with a new transmission. Well, if you fall for it. I have brought in 3 separate vehicles on 3 separate occasions for the lifetime alignment package. The first was a light truck. I was told they couldn't do the alignment until they fixed all of the struts and tie-rods. Problem is, I had just had those replaced literally the week before by a very well respected and honest local mechanic, so that was a straight-up lie. Took it to Ananda's and had the alignment, no problem. Then I took in a newish car, and I was told a version of the same thing - X, Y and Z work would need to be done before they could do the alignment. Took it to Service Tire and got the alignment, no problem. Years passed and I thought I would try again, since I really did need an alignment. Same thing: the rear suspension is out of whack and the tires were low, so they couldn't do it without fixing the suspension. First, at a TIRE shop, one would expect that they could put some air in the tires, no? Two, I just had the suspension and a number of other things done on the truck 3 weeks ago - again, by a trustworthy and reputable shop - who unfortunately doesn't do alignments. So, I will no doubt take this truck to Service Tire, where I should have gone in the first place, with no problem. It's a shame this particular location is a scam: I have a friend who got the lifetime alignment where he lives, and has never had any problem with the service. But, if they're using this bait and switch for alignments, that's an operational model they're using for everything. And THEN, when I went to pick the truck up after this epic fail, 3 of my tires were almost flat - so much so that I would have been concerned to drive even to the closest gas station. Really? I've been cheated....been mistreated...and I've found me love at Firestone on Michigan Avenue. Seriously, as a girl who gives off a "I know absolutely nothing about what you're talking about" vibe when it comes to cars, I have been treated terribly by mechanics in the past. I went here after a friend recommended it, and I hope I never have to go anywhere else. The guys are always friendly, respectful, and honest about what needs to be done to my car and how long it will take. They'll tell me if something needs to be fixed NOW or can be held off for a while. The waiting room is clean and friendly, though I generally drop my car off and walk down to Le Petit Zinc for a morning of tea and pastries while I wait. The team at Firestone was super amazing when I totaled my car in February. I left it there overnight so they could take a look and ended up having to leave it there over a week while AAA got their crap together and decided to total it. They didn't mind my car being there, they didn't charge me for ANYTHING even after they'd looked it over for me, and they let me pull it inside so I could stay warm while I cleaned it out. I brought them a dozen cookies from Avalon because I love them so much. read more

The firestone in Corktown is an example of a neighborhood tire shop with the foresight to help build its community in a positive way. They do community appreciation days where they offer huge discounts on products at the turn of the season and quoted me on tires and installation packages that rival all online tire outlets. I came in the other day for a flat fix. This was my first time in the store. Relative to past experiences at tire shops and mechanics, I was ready for a shakedown. They told me my tire suffered too much damage and it's internal structure had come apart due to a number of possible reasons. Living in Detroit, it's safe to say potholes were the culprit. Regardless, I felt maybe they were trying to make some extra money off me by saying I got to buy a new tire. I was very incorrect on my assumption. I accepted, reluctantly, to buy a new tire and had told them my plans with buying a new 4 set of tires by the end of the winter season when I have more stability financially. The manager and technician set up a plan for me out of the goodness of their heart knowing full well I was strapped for cash at the moment and put a new tire on my vehicle for free, balanced my tires and gave me a page of a few quotes for tire packages whenever I was ready to come in and purchase. I usually purchase my tires online and bring them in for install. I'm going to support this Firestone because they are good people. They built trust into my first encounter with them and I'm now going to buy and install straight from the store. Check this: the catch is that the new tire I got for free with installation was manufactured 4 years ago and had a warranty up to 5 years. He told me he couldn't honestly sell me a tire with such an attenuated warranty. I assume he could have just sent those tires back to the manufacturer and received some compensation, but instead he gave them to me for free with full transparency and details of the product explained and some assurance the tires are safe to use, especially if I plan to buy new tires in the future. It's a win-win situation for everyone. Big ups to this location. My experience with the employees and managers at that firestone was great. They were impressive. Clean and organized location, lots of parking and open spaces. Great restaurants and shops walking distance from Firestone if you drop your car off. COME TO THIS STORE FOR YOUR TIRE NEEDS. read more

The simplest of jobs, like swapping tires, will take 5+ hours and they'll be rude for every minute. I've visited this location a couple of times over the last few years for tire work and found it to offer dependable if not outstanding service. In a return visit yesterday, I felt they were off their game. I had made an appointment for 9am, but my car was not seen in the garage itself until 11am and finished around 12:30pm, so I waited longer than the entirety of the service, which was disappointing and threw off the rest of my day. Update 8/27/19: Brought my car here for an oil change/alignment yesterday at about 1:30pm. They close at 6pm (though Apple Maps says 9pm) and I never received a call that my car was done. I called this morning to see what was going on and they gave me some bogus story about my cap on my oil not coming off but "it looks like they are getting it off now". So basically they didn't even do my car yesterday and didn't bother to tell me. Cool. Original: Late May 2019 Great service and Mechanic. I don't remember their names but...the master mechanic (he has been working there over 30 years) and the gentleman who I spoke to at the counter were very apologetic when I told them I went to another firestone (Livonia...Plymouth Road) and they basically ripped me off (spent thousands of dollars because they misdiagnosed twice my car before telling me to just go to Ford). The gentleman at the counter asked if I could call him to let him know if the issue was fixed so it would "put his mind at ease"/ensure that the issue was fixed, which made me feel like they actually cared about my issue. And most importantly they actually fixed the issue with my car! (Fixed the engine mount and one of my motors) and was even honest enough to tell me that they could use my old brake pads because they were still good instead of telling me I need new ones. Now of course it was firestone so they were a bit expensive, but i knew that going in and I have a firestone credit card so i didn't take points off for that. Save yourself: don't come here! I had an appointment time and still waited 2.5 hours to have two new tires put on my car. It wasn't even taken back until 45 minutes after my appointment time. The woman next to me waited 2 hours to have them change a bulb, and they still hadn't gotten to it. Previously, I've waited 3 hours for an oil change with an appointment which is just unacceptable. Even when my car was delivered to me, there was residue all over my tires which could have been avoided with a quick wipe of a rag. read more

I've been a Firestone (in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood) customer for 5 years and have been treated so well every single time I go! Truly, as a female customer often talked "down to" by mechanics, Craig and Tim treat me like I'm their most valuable customer even when I am just there for an oil change. I recommend this place to anyone looking for oil changes to full service mechanical help, and the Firestone card (0% interest for 6 months) makes paying for big repairs (new breaks, etc) so much more manageable than having to pay all at once. read more

This location gave the worst customer service I've ever experienced... the service men were in the back for ten minutes, talking. I had to walk back in the garage where it was prohibited just to get someone to acknowledge me. Once they finally asked how they could help me, the guy huffed and puffed about it... you see I'm from Texas, I just bought a set of tires from firestone, so when the tire wouldn't hold air I found the closest firestone so they could fix it under warranty. The guy tried to discourage me by telling me it would be 3 hours... but I had no choice but to wait! While I'm waiting I go to use the bathroom and both the family bathroom and women's restroom was disgusting. With actual feces on the toilet. So the employee comes out and tells me that they do not have my tire in stock so I ask if I could just use my spare tire. They put the spare tire on but they ransacked my truck.... they threw the items in my truck around everywhere and did not put things back properly. I have a gas can in my car that I keep in case of emergency. I make sure that the tops are all very well and keep it in a certain area. When I got in my car they had put the gas can on top of a brand-new table that I had bought that was in the trunk. Gas was all over the table and the car smelled of gas. The table is for my daughters room and now my daughters room smells of gasoline. When I called to complain and speak to a manager he was very unsympathetic and Said, I will need to wait and until store manager got there to offer any resolution...He never even apologized. read more

These 1 star reviews are all true. Brought my car in after hitting a pothole on Michigan ave. My tire was completely flat, and a few hours after bringing it in, I got a call telling me I had a cracked inner rim and a wrecked tire. I was then told it'd be $1100...unless I had a warranty. Luckily I did, so I called them back with information for them to confirm a claim. They seemed hesitant, and said they usually didn't "deal" with warranties, but would try and see if they could take it. I had to call twice a few days later to try and pull updates from them, but they were basically unresponsive, telling me they'd call me a half hour later and never doing so. I understand that they may have been swamped with work, so I ended up getting my car towed to a Ford dealership. HOWEVER, Ford said that my wheel and rim were completely fine, and just my tire was damaged! I really don't understand who they're trying to fool. I've now been without my car for over 2 weeks now because of this. Not cool. read more
