Sorry to say after decades of good service, this Firestone location has gone downhill. Took car in to check brakes. They said needed replaced on front and rear. Didn't sound right so I took it to another shop to check. That shop said fronts were just fine, only backs needed replaced. Also when I drove away from Firestone there was a grinding sound. They had bent a dust shield so it rubbed on the brake. I choose to believe this was not on purpose but don't know how they could have pulled it out of the bay without noticing. Horrible experience. Everytime I come here they give me me some bs diagnostic thats usually false. This time, I brought my car in at the beginning of January for 2 new tires. They told my my lower left ball joint needed replaced. I let them replace that and when I left my car was making an awful scraping sound. I brought it back within a week to have them fix whatever was making the scraping noise and they tell me I have a hole in my boot. The hole they put in my boot and then had the audacity to try and get me to pay to have it replaced after they caused the damage. I just went ahead and had someone else that I trust more fix it for me at a lower cost. Today I called them to try to get a better understanding of why my car was damaged and I was not only not told about it but expected to pay to fix it. The manager Dale told me he wasnt sure. I told him I wasn't mad I just wanted some type of reassurance that this wouldn't happen again. He said nothing. I then said "it would be nice for someone to atleast apologize for the inconvenience and damage" he then apologized but didnt say anything else. I let them know I would be leaving a negative review and would make sure to let anyone I know not to take their car to this location. He didn't care. I know they dont need my business to stay open however I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of care from management! If this was the first issue I had with them I would let it go but they have lied to me in the past. I was told months ago my transmission was leaking. It wasnt. And they never brought that issue up again. I no longer trust them with my car as it comes back to me more damaged than when I drop it off with them. read more

Very unhappy customer for several reasons. Take your car anywhere else! Dropped my car off at 7:30AM to get 4 new tires and was told it would be ready "around noon". I called at about 1:30 to check on it, they hadn't even started on it, "tickets got mixed up",,, bull. Finally got the call at 5:30. Fine, it threw a wrench in my plans but nothing I was going to be able to do about it. Picked up the car and immediately noticed that the shifter and steering wheel were covered with a sticky film from the mechanics hands, again not a huge deal, I cleaned off both with a few paper towels and some cleaner. I shouldn't have to do that but life could be worse. What really pissed me off I discovered the following day. I hadn't looked at my bill (I've gone to this shop for over 25 years and trusted them (past tense)) until then. I saw a charge of $122.36 / $30.59 per tire for "Road Hazard Protection". This was never discussed, I was never asked if I wanted it and it was never addressed at check out. I called as soon as I noticed it and was told that there was a guy working and who didn't work the lobby too often, whatever. I was told that it covered nails, etc if I could get the car there. I told them I didn't want it and so I had to drive back there to get the credit. When I got there I and was told by the manger that the system automatically adds those charges and my guess is they rarely point it out to their victims. She complained to me how difficult it was to do these credits. My thought was if they didn't automatically add the charge to begin with they wouldn't have to mess with it. nobody in their right mind would pay that kind of money to cover a puncture. It's a nominal charge at the closest shop. Bottom line, I only want to do business with people I trust, I no longer trust Firestone and never will again. read more

We lived in the UA for about twenty-years, so this was our "go-to" shop. We've been customers for as long as I can remember. It WAS really good service. Since going there in the early 2000's, there has been a steady decline. Today was the straw on the camel's back. I brought it in last Saturday for diagnostics, whole while I'm talking about "timing belts', Firestone fails to mention my 2016 is on a timing chain, says they have a tech that COULD EVENTUALLY DO IT, there's a transmission leak ( which dealer says is due to transmission fill-plug missing), alternator belt, compressor, etc... so they have me take it to dealership for a second diagnostics. so now I'm paying for double the diagnostics... dealership comes to same conclusion... I'm not only out more money- but out about a week of work ( I use my car for work). so it gets really good here... I schedule my appointment Monday (transmission service, belts, you know probably thousands of dollars) -- and show up today, with fill-plug, from dealership. Am told upon arrival for appointment because I have a "customer part", he is refusing my transmission service. ITS NOT A CUSTOMER PART. ITS A DEALERSHIP PART, BRO. OEM HONDA STANDARD. He just keeps saying "no, I won't do that.", and apologizes for wasting my time, but by now, they have wasted my whole week. I woke up for this one and was there on time, and over a fill-plug, from the dealership, they wont service my transmission. THIS WHOLE APPOINTMENT WAS SET ON MONDAY FOR A TRANSMISSION SERVICE AS WELL AS THE BELTS AND ALTERNATOR. NOW IM SET BACK EVEN FURTHER IN THE WEEK TO HAVE IT ALL DOWN. WHEN YOURE SORRY, YOU MAKE IT RIGHT. you don't just half-ass an apology and send people on their way. I don't think I've had worse customer experience anywhere else. I'm not only a customer, but a former employee. Now knowing what ass-holes they are- not just to customers- but to their own, I won't be back. I have seen nothing but this specific reed road location steady decline. Go to andy baker or andy chapin at chapin's auto service. They literally charge not even a fourth the price, free diagnostics, and wont bs you out of money. they are honest mechanics and I trust them with my business ( having been a mechanic for firestone). The only reason I go to firestone, while it is reputable, is I have a credit card w them; Otherwise, go elsewhere. it is completely price-gauged. read more

Sad to say I've experienced for the last several years the decline of customer service at this location. Took my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe into this Firestone location for an Oil change and tire rotation. They couldn't rotate the tires because they didn't have the tool to rotate the tires and said they couldn't find the tool that came with the car. I said to them that I've never used the tool or the jack, because I've never had to change a tire on the car. I pointed out to them that 22 months before they had replaced one of my tires and had no problem then. Question: does it make sense that a "Firestone auto service center" can't do a tire rotation because they don't have a tool? read more

I have been a customer at this Firestone for more than 20 years and unfortunately the quality of service has really deteriorated over the last year or so. Personnel has changed and there is little concern for customers now. I had an appointment for an oil change and to check the battery. I waited an hour in the lobby before I asked if they were going to be able service my car, or I could cancel. I was told " they are taking it in now". I was told another hour later that I did need a new battery. Fine. Another hour and a half passed before they finished with my car. I sat in the lobby for 3 and a half hours after having an appointment for service for two items that could have been completed in well less than an hour. Then when I was checking out, I was told to swipe my credit card. I asked "How much am I paying?" Most people expect to know ahead of time what amount they are paying, in this case $317. I left at 4:30 pm after a 1:00 pm service appointment. Anyway, I guess I was better off than the gentleman who was also waiting in the lobby. He had been waiting since 7:00 am to have a tire replaced. Of course he didn't have an appointment..................... I will not use this Firestone location every again. I love this place! I take my car here for everything and I'm always impressed. Last week my battery died on my way to work, I was able to get a jump and take my car right in. They quoted me an hour, had everything wrapped up in 20 mins! Staff is friendly and able to explain everything on laymen's term for me. Every time I call with a need or even stop in to have my oil checked they always fit me right in! Great staff, definitely recommend. read more

We have taken all of our cars to Firestone for as long as I can remember! We love it. But just yesterday we had a great experience that I figured I would share. On my way home, low coolant light came on. I panicked with the snow we were supposed to get. When I got there, they met me in the parking lot, and checked to see if it was possible to top off right there. Within 5 minutes, my coolant was topped off and when I asked what I owed, they told me no charge and to get home before the snow starts! Service like this makes me want to come back every time, and continue telling my friends and family to choose Firestone next time they're in a pinch. Thanks so much. read more

The place where I typically take my car was booked out 3 weeks so they recommended this place ...so I drive over there to see if they could help me last week..the first person was really nice and told me that they had nothing until today.so I SCHEDULE and 8 am appt telling him that I had a meeting at 11 that I could not miss. I came in today at 8am for replacement of a headlight bulb, oil change and added checking my tires cause my low tire pressure tire light lit up yesterday. Scott who checked me in said that it was listed as a drop off (first clue) and that they "had all these tickets to do"...ok what is the point of an appt? So I go ahead leave the car as he said it would be done at 5...Mind you I brought work to do as I had planned wait on my car. Instead Ordered an Uber and left. I called Scott -around 3;30 to check on the status of my car...he said that it was still on track to be done by 5 and that he would call. I said that I would come at 6 to pick it up...he said ok we will call when done. Time came and went 6:05 as I'm leaving ...by Uber again I get a call and not from Scott who was gone but by some poor female left to deal with the fall out...she apologized as they were short techs...I paid for an Uber again ( both unplanned expenses) to pick up a car that was not touched. In preparation for a 1000 mile road trip, I went to dealership for an oil change and courtesy checks. The dealer noted that I needed an alignment, so I took it to the Firestone @ Henderson and Reed where I had purchased lifetime alignment 2 years prior. I waited at Firestone because I wanted to make sure the alignment would be done properly. Tech was unable to get alignment in the green for front camber and rear toe. I overheard tech telling one of the managers he was rushed by the other manager. I requested a print out of the specs, and tech left in a pissy mood, zooming my car and leaving a screechy sound. After having the tech put the car up a second time, the printed spec sheet showed almost no change from before/after alignment despite having both the camber and rear toe remain in the yellow. In fact the rear toe alignment was off worse by an additional degree. I asked if I could bring the car back tomorrow, and the manager said that camber and/or toe pin might be "rusted", and that he could get me a quote on this. After 2.5 hours waiting at firestone, I still do not have good alignment on my vehicle. I believe that lifetime alignments at Firestone are not worth it. They do a decent job the first time when you purchase lifetime, but pretty much neglect you at follow-up alignments. No courtesy checks were done despite having told them that the dealer had noticed a puncture on one of the tires earlier the same day. read more

I've been a Firestone customer for more than 10 years across multiple states, and this location is the best I've come across. So much so that I only went to this store during the past 3 years. Built strong relationships with the guys that help run the place smoothly: Jeff, Scott, Mike, Joe, and Cody. They earned my trust and my repeat business. There are too many examples where they've gone above and beyond, but one that comes to mind was my most recent interaction. I took my Acura RDX FWD (front wheel drive) to the dealer to get the air bag replaced. It was part of the Takata airbag recall. When I was about to leave, I was given a quote of over $1000+ in work, which included: replacing the spark plugs and changing the fluids for both the transfer case as well as the differential. I promptly took it to the Firestone team on Reed Road for a second opinion. I had just crossed the street when I got a call informing me that my front wheel drive doesn't need the services recommended for AWDs... and that they had already changed the spark plugs only a month ago. Needless to say, you can imagine the conversation I had with the dealer. They in turn apologized and blamed their recommendations on the manufacturer's service reminder codes, which don't always take into account FWD vs. AWD. End of the day, I would have expected the dealer to know my car better since they have access to my VIN. But in my case, it was evident that this strong team at Firestone was looking out for my family and my wallet. This is why I've continued to go back over the years... and will only let them service my cars in Columbus, OH. read more

They have always gotten the work done very quickly and with no issues. My typical visit is for their LIfetime Alignment so I cannot comment on other pricing, but the rates seem on par with any! read more

I went to this location about a week ago to have a flat tire fixed, and when I called in and told them I left my car overnight they were very nice about it and said it was no big deal. They ended up plugging the hole in the tire, although they said I needed three new tires (even though the tread was fine.) I also asked them to change the mileage readout because an oil symbol was on when it should not have been. When I picked up my car, the readout was unchanged, but the tire seemed to be fixed. Today, my tire was flat once again. I took my car to a Mr. Tire and they were much better and actually found a hole in the sidewall of my tire, meaning I needed a new one which Firestone neglected to find or tell me! Mr. Tire also informed me that there was absolutely no place where Firestone had plugged or patched my tire, so I paid for nothing. In hindsight, they charged me for fixing my tire when they actually missed the real leak and did not fix another thing I asked them to fix. I ended up having to go back and complain, but they were understanding and did give me my money back. The people I spoke with were kind to me, but unfortunately the service was very disappointing and left me frustrated and with a flat tire once again. read more

They have great prices on tires. However, don't waste your money on the lifetime balance and rotation. They will rotate your tires by appointment only or offer you the option to leave your car with them for the whole day. It takes ten minutes to rotate tires, why need an appointment? I have stopped by there twice and asked if they could rotate my tires and this is their response. Both times not a single customer was waiting in the lobby. Save your money. read more

I used a deal to get my oil changed and tires rotated by a different shop (not firestone). They told me I needed new brakes and brake fluid and several other repairs. I didn't have the time then and my mom suggested Firestone. I took it in and they looked at the brakes... nope, no emergency, still have 6-10K left on them (not the up to 4wks the other company said) and everything looked good--- except my tires needed rotated. How much did it cost? Free inspection! Getting the rotation, alignment and brake pad replacement will cost 100 bucks less than the other place was charging just for brake pads! I love these guys and will come back every time I need a repair. The honesty is something I have NEVER known to have at car shops until now. read more

Rip off. The starter went bad on my girlfriends car and we took it to Firestone for repair. They charged $450.00 for the replacement starter part. Afterward, we consulted another mechanic who advised that, even with an upcharge, the part should have been under $150.00. The entire repair should have been around $150-170 but it was over $500.00. I was devastated that the problem in my car (broken timing chain) ended up being too severe for Firestone or neighboring mechanics to fix, but because of this, they only ended up charging me half price for diagnosis! My entire family has gone here off and on for the past 25 years. Today's experience was the best I ever had. Hats off to the front desk personnel and especially to Brockton who went out of his way to thoroughly explain how to resolve the locking lug nut problem, brakes, and tire issues I had. Totally impressed. Always been straight forward, fairly priced and there's never a trust issue which I've experienced with some other dealerships and repair facilities.
