Unbelievably bad service. I am done with AAA forever. Lowest quality possible at this shop!

Short Story: Poor coordination, long delays, and lack of communication. Even with AAA discounts, the cost was high and no support like ride or rental services was offered. The experience was frustrating and unprofessional. We won't be returning. Very Long Story: First Visit (Diagnostic Only): We booked an appointment for 8:30 AM, but the email confirmation showed 12 PM. After chatting with an agent to confirm, we were told 8:30 AM was correct--already a red flag for poor coordination. We understood that diagnostics can take time, but we received no updates the entire day. We had to call them ourselves at 3 PM just to learn that the diagnostic was finished and they were preparing a quote. After waiting another 2 hours, we received a text-only estimate of $3,000. It was unprofessional--no itemized breakdown, no explanation, and no email follow-up. Because of the delay, we couldn't proceed with the repair that weekend. We were charged around $100 for the diagnostic, which we were willing to pay--but it was disappointing because we had planned to get the car repaired with them. According to AAA's promotion, the diagnostic should've been free with a repair, so we didn't expect the charge. That left us a bit upset. Second Visit - Actual Repair: Still, we decided to give AAA another chance. We dropped off the car on Thursday and clearly told them we would pick it up Friday at 9 AM. Even though they said the work would only take "a couple of hours," we gave them the entire day just to be safe and rented a car at our own expense. However, when we arrived at 10 AM on Friday, we were shocked to learn they had just started working on our car--even though we had a confirmed appointment with them. They told us the repair didn't begin until Thursday evening, which they never informed us about. We returned again at 1 PM, only to find the car was still not ready. They said it was out for a test drive that had already lasted over 40 minutes. We had no choice but to wait--and ended up being late for work. read more

My car would not start on a Saturday evening and the AAA Emergency Service came out and got it restarted. It was diagnosed as needing a new starter (original starter and car has over 150K miles) and I was given the warning that it may or may not start the next time I tried. The battery was still good (I was 2 months away from the 5-year warranty being void) but should be replaced before the winter. So I drove it over to this location and left the key in their box and hoped they'd be able to get it fixed on Monday. On Monday morning I spoke to one of the service managers and he had a technician take a look. It would need a new starter and the battery terminals could use a cleaning. It wouldn't be ready until the next day. Another phone call later, and I was told the technician forgot to check the battery and it was at 50% life and recommended being replaced - it was missed during the initial check so I would be given a discount. I was quoted a price which I found acceptable and I asked if I could pay now over the phone but was advised to wait in case the price was off. Monday afternoon I took a plane out of state and had a 5-hour time zone change so my noon was their 5pm. The family member staying at my house didn't mention any phone calls from AAA so I called them on Wednesday just before they closed. They'd called the home phone and left a message the car was ready (but my family member didn't know how to check the messages). I was able to pay over the phone (it was about $30 less than the quote) and my family member was able to pick up the car the next day during their business hours. It may have been odd circumstances but they were able to go with the flow which I appreciate. read more

Went there for free oil change. Was not free although online stated free. Tech drive the car without permission around block. Why driver the car for an oil change? No other garage doors this! Also quoted us for things over 2000. Said things were wrong with car that were not. Disgusting!!! read more

I had a great experience here! I was told my car would take an hour and fifteen minutes to be serviced & it was exactly that. Prices are extremely fair and they even took the time to check things I didn't even think to bring up. My favorite part about my experience here was the full report that got emailed to me later. It broke down the costs, what they checked, what they fixed, and things that might need to be fixed soon! It even had pictures! I love that they took the time to give me the full experience when I simply went in for an oil change. The employees here are extremely nice and patient. My family was so impressed by their service, that they are going to start bringing their cars here too. read more

After recently becoming a member of AAA again, I decided to give their Car Care Plus location a try... After all $55 for full-synthetic oil change and tire rotation is a pretty good deal. LOCATION: The location is off of Bethel Road, between Sawmill and 315. For those who don't like to wait, there is a Dunkin' Donuts next door. SCHEDULING: This was a pain. They have a 'quote request' form on the AAA website, so a service adviser will email/call you to set an appointment... Sadly, you can't see open appointments or select a specific time until the service adviser contacts you. After emailing back and forth, the service adviser stopped responding for a couple of days... I sent a follow-up email. My follow-up email was responded to within a couple hours with a date/time. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told "oh.... we expected you at X:XX." I did notice that the location received a lot of phone calls during my visiting and the service adviser kept telling callers "we're booked solid for the next 2 weeks" and recommended that they call the Sawmill or Dublin locations. Just something to think about. FACILITIES: The facility is clean, and has a nice waiting room. There is a television, coffee maker, and plenty of AAA reading materials while you wait. The restroom was clean and stocked with supplies. Wifi is available. SERVICE: The woman working the service desk was friendly. Although she couldn't find my appointment initially, everything else was fine. This was one of the few auto centers (dealers included) that not only provide you a copy with the service inspection report, but actually explain the results of the findings. I wasn't upsold on anything which is also a plus. OVERALL: Given that my car has 133k miles on it, I need an auto repair place that I can trust for both preventive maintenance and unexpected repairs. The AAA discount is a nice plus. I really appreciate that you are given a copy of the inspection findings for your records too. With my only annoyance being the scheduling system (something similar to the GM dealer schedulers would be nice), I'll likely be back for future oil changes and tire rotations. read more

Below average customer service. Came in for new battery terminals. They Charged me a new AAA battery in addition to the terminals n install. Claiming that they couldn't get my 2week old battery from autozone to spark the car. They even had the nerve to try and keep the old battery after replacing it with their own.... snakes read more

My car's headlight went out suddenly, so I needed a quick fix, and could only get my car in that day. When I called Saturday morning to see if I could set an appointment, they offered to help me the same day. They provided quick service and were a delight to be around. read more

This place is incredible! It's just one of those magical situations where everybody on staff is honest and friendly and funny. I make appointments for my cars around lunchtime so I can go to La Casita next-door while it's being fixed. It's always in a timely matter At a reasonable rate. They assessed any upcoming issues. And most importantly...if somethings not broken they will not fix it. They are honest and good at what they do. I can't stress that part enough. Stay away!! I went for my car (being a AAA member) to get it repaired as it was shacking at 55/hr and above, when applying brakes. They inspected for approx. an hour and advised to change the rear rotors. But instead front rotors were having wears and needed to be replaced. They unnecessarily changed the rear ones which were not even 3 years old. Even after the repair my car had same problem. I would NOT recommend them to anyone, rather advise you to get a quote and your car inspected at couple of other more shops to match their advice. read more

I have had AAA since I was 18 years old. I have come to enjoy the service and the various discounts. This is the first time I have used the car repair service. I knew something was wrong with my brakes. The workers agreed to do a brake inspection and repair what needed to be fixed. After their assessment they did replace the front brake pads and they resurfaced the rotors. They checked the back drums and left them in place because they were in good condition. Here is the break down of the cost: Brake inspection: $44.39 Brake pads:$53.98 Labor:$228.00 Sales tax: $21.46 Wow! I see this as major price gouging. Courteous and quick to attend to my car. The waiting room also has free wifi and is a comfortable place to wait for an oil change. They did not try to sell me any other oil changes and prior to arriving, reminded me to bring in my AAA discount. read more

Five star plus experience! I had my car inspected at the local dealership and was told I would need new tires by the fall. I called around at the usual tire places and was quoted some fairly high numbers but I wanted good tires so I thought maybe that was simply what you had to pay. It turned out the local warehouse clubs could do the same job for much less. Unfortunately, some of them are closed for the virus and the others didn't have any tires for my car in stock. When I found this place, they gave me a better price and could get the tires I wanted delivered the next day. I was nervous as I had never been to this place before but I took a leap of faith and everything was what they said it would be, easy and no fuss. They charged me exactly what they quoted and had my tires changed the same day I dropped it off. They were all really nice too and the manager Ray personally thanked me even though he was busy helping other customers. Finding the right auto repair shop can be a bit scary but it was such a relief to find these guys. I will definitely be coming here again. read more

I stopped in at this new AAA repair location because the one closer to me couldn't get me in today. I am so glad I did. After hitting a pot hole last month and having another business (Sam's Club) replace the broken tire stem and rotate tires, there was a shake to the car. They really couldn't give any definitive answers so I came here. I called at 9:30am and they said I could drop it off at 11:30. Once I arrived, they said it would be between 12:30-100pm before they looked at it which I didn't mind because it was a last minute appointment. They took the car back early at noon and after a short while, they indicated there were no problems with suspension and had found a semi-bad tire that had been rotated to the front making the car shake. They rotated it back to the rear and the shake was gone. They said that I just needed to replace that tire but two others were close to needing replaced due to tire wear. They would have to order the tires since they are a non-standard size. I told them I wanted to think about replacing one or more and would get back to them. They handed me the keys and I was on my way within a little over an hour. Plus, the service managed waived the customary $40 inspection fee. The quote for the tires was also very reasonable. I will definitely be back to this location to get the new tire(s) and will be coming here for future work needed on my car and truck. These guys saved me hundreds of dollars and a lot of aggravation. My car was having intermittent starting and stalling problems and two other repair shops could not find the cause of the problem. The 2nd shop charged me over $400 for a repair that didn't solve the problem and wanted to charge me $800 more for a new fuel pump that they couldn't guarantee would work either. AAA Car Care Plus found a loose fuse box, fixed it, and also properly lubed the new part that they said the previous shop didn't lube correctly when installing. AAA also said it didn't need a new fuel pump or anything else and charged me only their $95 diagnostic fee.The car has worked fine since. read more

I would advise you not to take your car here. They really do not seem to value their customer's time. I made an appointment well in advance and told the service agent that I needed a rental car. I show up to drop off my car at the agreed upon time, and the rental car is not there. I was told over the phone that the service would only take a couple of hours. It took the entire day. A free air filter was included in a maintenance package I had purchased. My car needed a "cabin" air filter, and the service agent refused to cover it under the maintenance package. My car has white leather, and there were black grease smudges all over the front driver and passenger seats. I had to clean both off with cleaner and moisturizer. Overall, the customer service was very disappointing. I would recommend taking your car to another facility for service and repairs, such as CARs in Clintonville. read more

So very sad to see a company under the AAA name that cheats their customers. My friend took her car to them because she is a AAA member and they promise a discount for members. Her car needed new brake pads and the rotors turned. She also had a little bit of a shake she thought was in the motor compartment. Kent said that she had a broken motor mount and that they would replace it. To begin with, when we came to pick up the car they were charging her in excess of $500.00+. When asked what made it cost so much when brake pads are less than $30.00 each and it takes less than an hour to replace. I know this because my husband does work on our cars and just purchased brake pads recently. AAA told her that the motor mount had not been installed and that part of the bill came to over $200.00 (parts and labor). The discount they promised was 10%, which isn't worth driving there to get. They were asking her to pay the full bill in excess of $500.00 and they would put the part on later. When we told them that she would not being paying for something they didn't do yet they did remove the $200.00+ from the bill. Now her bill was over $300.00 dollars. ALL THEY DID WAS CHANGE TWO BRAKE PADS AND THEY "SAID" THEY TURNED THE ROTORS. STILL THIS IS A REDICULOUS PRICE. When they heard that we were unhappy, here comes Ken Hilliard, the service manager to smooth things over. He sat there telling us that she had ok'd the work to be done. She OK'd the work cause she didn't know that it was an outrageous price. She had no idea that they would SCREW her like that. NEVER AGAIN, AND I WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS ABOUT THIS SO THAT THEY DON'T GET SCREWED TOO. THEY SAW A WOMAN COMING AND THEY DECIDED TO SCREW HER !
