I took my truck in for an oil change a couple weeks ago and hadn't used it since. I only use my truck for picking up materials etc. to use for our small rental business. I like going to Take 5 because of their good prices and quick service. After driving about 6 or so hours, I had just gotten home and was going to get some gas after a long trip. It was then that I noticed a strange noise from the engine and pulled over to inspect. I found oil leaking from underneath my engine and immediately turned around and went back home. Upon inspection, I found the oil plug missing and went down my street to try and find it. Thankfully, I was able to find it! I talked with corporate at Take 5 and the customer service was great. I told them I don't think there is any damage to the engine because I detected the issue so quickly. After talking with the local Take 5 that had done the oil change, I talked to the manager, Terrance who was able to help me out. It turns out the plastic oil plug in my vehicle was not replaced with my oil change (apparently Ford's engineers thought it would be a good idea to use a plastic oil plug which needs replaced at each oil change). I had my truck towed back to the shop by AAA and Terrance was able to get me back up and running within an hour. I want to say that when I came to the shop for the oil change initially, it was just before closing time and she did a great job. She was very personable and I believe she did her job to the best of her ability at that time as she was the only one at the shop. I will continue to go back to Take 5 and am just happy I caught the issue before any major damage (hopefully) happened. I will go back to them knowing this won't happen again! Of course, I will update this review if any other findings occur, but as of now I believe my truck is fine and I am very happy with the customer service from Take 5 and how accommodating they have been. read more

I was one of the many people who fell victim to a pothole on the road in front of their store today, and I couldn't be more grateful for their help! Several people, including myself, had our tires blown out because of a deep pit in the road, and a group from the store immediately came to help us. One of the best service experiences I've ever had. Period. From the prior oil change, the cap was replaced improperly causing oil to spill on the driveway. I went to 5th Ave location and they did not have the right filter, so they sent me to High Street. Upon arriving, I was greeted with a water bottle and friendly smile. They had the proper filter and also troubleshot the leaking issue with great explanation (and even video showing me what was happening), letting me know that the last techs were the issue and that I did not have a more expensive problem. This was all done as to make me feel as though my issue was the most important thing in the world and I was the most important customer. They even encouraged me to come back and that they would look at it again for free in a couple days. I would highly recommend this shop! I popped in for an oil change on my way to a scheduled oil change further away. I first made an appointment for hours from then but changed it. They were so so nice and accommodating! They greeted me in the parking lot and talked to me about my needs. They were polite and smiled the whole time. During my oil change, I got to chat with the young man at the computer. He was so sweet! We talked about our shared love for cars, my son and how much they are alike. He let me hear his new song he'd just written and he has AMAZING TALENT! I took my daughter's car here. I am from out of town. I've always done my own maintenance on cars but I needed to get her oil changed. I have never brought any of our cars to a shop for an oil change. but I wanted to get her oil done while I am in town. I went with Mobil 1 because I've always used Mobil 1 in our cars. I was extremely impressed with the speed of the service. the team brought out a sealed case of Mobil 1 so I knew for sure it was what we paid for. the team did safety checks first and confirmed the oil level in the car before they started. after the change they had me start the car to make sure everything was OK and even got back under the car to check for leaks. after they did this check they swiped the dipstick one last time and showed me to confirm. I really liked the procedure they did and how they confirmed all particulars for my complete confidence in the change. appreciate you guys! read more

I would not recommend this business. On 2/26, I brought my car in for an oil change. All seemed fine, until I realized about 5 days after the fact that my car had leaked out all 4.2 quarts of oil. I called Take Five to start the claims process and have had nothing but a run around. First, the manager came to my home to inspect the car and immediately claimed that the leak was not caused by Take Five, but I needed to take my car to his shop to inspect it. I did so. At the shop, I was present at the inspection. The manager claimed that the oil leak was coming from the rear main, and again claimed they were not to blame. I could see the oil was leaking from the filter and pointed that out to him, and he said that it was just "leftover oil" from the change (notably, no oil change should leave your engine coated in oil like that). He offered to change my oil again, which puzzled me. I asked why he would change the oil if the oil change had NOT caused the leak. When I said this, he then said he would actually not feel comfortable changing my oil before speaking with corporate. He then offered to "run codes" on my car, and I again pointed out that my car did not have any check engine lights on because I had caught the oil leak, so there would not be any codes. He replied, "you're pretty smart." He stressed repeatedly that it was not Take Fives' fault, and told me if I pursued a claim I would be responsible for paying everything because the leak was "not our fault." He was perfectly nice, but I feel he was actively trying to mislead me about the issue, and in hindsight, likely lied to me about what was causing the leak. I informed him that I would be taking my car to a different mechanic for a diagnostic and took it a local mechanic. This diagnostic was ultimately another runaround, so check my profile on my poor experience with Luke's Auto Repair. I finally took my car to a second mechanic, Ernie's Auto Repair, who discovered that Take Five had not replaced the O ring in my oil filter when they changed my oil. This was after I had undertaken the expense of the diagnostic, a rental car for when I had to go to work, and a few rideshares, not to mention the oil change itself which was NEVER refunded to me. Had I not caught the leak, this mistake would have totaled my car, causing irreparable damage to the engine. I have made a claim and now am getting ghosted by the Fleet Response people because they initially denied my claim based only on the manager's report that it was not Take Five's fault. It's hard for me to believe that the manager of an oil change location would not notice that the O ring was left out of my car as that is oil change 101. I believe that the manager either noticed this and tried to remedy it by disclaiming responsibility (and offering to change my oil) or he truly doesn't know enough about cars to be working on them. In sum, Take Five did a terrible oil change on my car. They then refused to take responsibility for the problem, and ended up costing me a significant sum, much less the time I had to spend chasing down this problem. read more

When I arrived there was one car in the bay. I was greeted by a young lady,Harmony, who offered me water and asked what I needed. I was particularly parched so I really appreciated the offer. I told her i needed an oil change and they had me pull in the 2nd bay. One of the technicians, Mike advises that they would be right with me. All three technicians were working hard in the other car to Get a filter loose. After a few minutes, Mike came over and started my oil change. Now typically I'm asked about me and my car (name, make, model, vin, odometer reading, etc.) first but started and then went over the oils and things. I also opted to get a new air filter, which they had a tad bit of trouble finding but nothing that kept me waiting too long. They did offer to call or email me when they had the part. I did get my cabin filter changed because it was filthy. The price for the oil change was a little much even after the coupon. Went for a basic oil change. This was fast and convenient for me, and little else to recommend it. A real Ho-hum experience. Did you know you stay in your car the whole time? First, they open your door to scan vehicle ID, get your info and mileage, and after the oil change, reach in your window to reset your "needs maintenance" (Toyota ) light. You have to read the sign and tell the guy what you want. Not much is really explained. Prices are mediocre. So many people working on your car at once, It's not clear who you should talk to when you roll down your window, if questions arise, but the older gentleman who checked my tires was personable, at least. The best part was there was no attempt to upsell oil grade or other products, though recommendations were made matter of factly. Let's see how long the $9.99 wiper blades last.... read more
