I made an appointment online for my 2024 Chevy Colorado LT for an oil change , tire rotation and a VA state inspection. I also enquired about their credit card. The service representative, Carl, had my credit application completed within minutes and asked if I was waiting.. being a retired man and not having immediate need I told them to contact me when it's ready. Once I returned to get my truck, I asked Carl about the 5% discount for applying for their credit card and if that discount expires after a certain amount of time. He was extremely professional and very helpful. I had used Firestone Automotive Centers before while I had lived on Long Island,NY and I am grateful to have a Firestone Center located in Edinburgh, Chesapeake, Virginia not far from where I call home now. No way around it, the good places are busy so you have to make an appt for a few days into the future to get seen. I have the Lifetime Alignment and always bring it back for my adjustment. If I could rate lower, I would. I came in for a state inspection and was told it shouldn't take too long since there were two people ahead of me. I am still here two and a half hours later going on three hours. If this was my first time, I would not have said anything but last time I came in, I waited almost four hours for two tires getting punctured by nails. I thought it was simply because tire repair that it would take that long but now I know it is because they simply take their sweet time in everything they do. Additionally, there are dead roaches all over the waiting area. I will not go here again. My time is valuable. I have been to other places that take a third of the time (or less). Came here 3 separate times for an alignment. 3 different vehicles. Left all 3 times without an alignment. 3rd times the charm. Was told my lower ball joint I had HALF A INCH of play. I replaced both lower ball joints prior to going here and a bunch of other parts so I could avoid something like this. A person who doesn't work on cars would have probably said oh just replace the part so I can get my alignment. Super shady and untrustworthy. Don't recommend at all. read more

After experiencing a tire blowout on the way back from the Outer Banks, my wife called several shops while I slowly drove the overstuffed van northward on our donut. Carl, the GM, answered her questions and said while he was rather crushed, he'd get to our car within 1.5 hours (this sounds like a long time, but comparatively it was well shorter than everyone else). We made it there, and he voiced concern about our dog having water and being out of the heat while we waited, offering us the ability to bring our pooch into the showroom. We didn't ask. He just offered. The very nice tech had our car on a jack within half an hour, and we were on our way within an hour of arriving (again, walking in without a reservation). I would have paid anything, and for sure was in a position to be gouged, but the price was more than reasonable. As I drove away, now into heavy traffic, I told my wife I was in a great mood despite the overall delay and unexpectedly having to buy a tire. I have used this place twice so far once for a oil change and they recommended an additional 3,000 dollars in service which I declined. Second time I dropped my car off after 2 full business days no work was performed and they only asked for additional time after I called. I went to pick up my car because I can't have a car in the shop for a unknown amount of time. I went to pick up my car and I received a dirty look and no explanation of what occurred over the two business days it was there in the shop. If your business cant handle so many cars in a defined time period explain that to the customer so a person cant expect a delay. This place won't be getting any more of my business that's for sure. Got a flat tire driving home being stupid going faster than i should've and hit a pothole. Bent the rim a tiny bit then of course deflated the tire. Went into firestone down the street (edinburg) to get a new tire. i figured i'd have to get a rim but they said i "didn't need one and they can bang it out like new." "sweet, alright thanks let's do that!" got it fixed up and i asked & double checked to make sure my rim was fixed and they said yeah, so i walked out super thankful. (i still am tho, the next part is what confused me.) Then the tire kept getting flat. Fill it up monday, it'd be nearly deflated by thursday. Something besides the weather was going on with *one specific tire* with *too short time in between all the air refills*. Thought i picked up a nail or something. So took it back cus i got road hazard warranty with it and they were looking at my car and they couldn't find anything wrong with the tire? "like cool but my air is still going SOMEWHERE yanno?" So then they found it was the bent rim. "i thought that was fixed but ok?" And then they were saying that hammering it out would make it worse, but i was super confused. Why did they assure me it was done before, but now 'it was never done and they can't fix what they said was already fixed?' I was just confused. So, they were trying to charge me for a new rim but i was still kinda standing there confused. cus like what? But there was this guy stephen (99.99% sure that is his name), who overheard my little complaint with the guy, & chirped up and said he can personally take a look at it if i want? so i was like "dope man have at it if you want , like thank you cus you don't have to do that." I was gonna figure out something else for that rim. So he looked at it and came back and was like "i can fix that lol just gotta hammer it out but that's easy". Like i was flipping out at that point cus he was super cool about it but also he offered to fix (what was "fixed" last time, but it wasnt) but didn't make it seem like a problem like the other people did. And i'm not mad AT ALL. I still go to firestone i was just confuseeedddd *why the thing was never fixed last time then they said it was and than i came back and they tried to charge me $82 for a new rim like whyhhyyyy!?* Like i said lol not mad i was just confused. Anyways. Super grateful for that one employee overhearing my confusion and step in to help me. Took two of my vehicles awhile back at the greenbriar mall location un chesapeake va..told them on my first car that it was pulling to the right..they did a front end alignment and afterwards it still pulled to the right..turned out to be a broken belt on my right steering tire..wrong diagnosis...second vehicle had my voltage meter reading low..they replaced my alternator..when I left I had the same problem...turned out it was a tensioner pulley....go figure..they should of road tested both cars after the so called repairs. read more

We are in Chesapeake from Pennsylvania for a visit. The Check Engine light came on and the alarm sounded. I took my Jeep to Auto Zone and had the computer read. It showed that the thermostat was stuck open. After making an appointment with Firestone of Chesapeake, they commenced to replace the thermostat. During the repair, they found the parts to be defective. Firestone called me to let me know my Jeep was going to take longer than expected and why. I was most impressed. We got towed in at 2am on a Sunday morning... walked in when they opened at 9am and immediately taken under Carl's wing... wrote up the ticket and he spent hours trying to find us a hotel (our camper van was our vacation home) and once one was found, drove us over when he got off work. Once they had it in the shop, they got it started, but Carl wouldn't let us leave not knowing what had caused the problem, asked for an extra day to track down the gremlin... turns out the fuel pump relay was failing when it got hot, was replaced and they ran it for awhile and then road tested feeling comfortable that was indeed the problem... then even asked us to call them to let them know we made it back home (a 4+ hour drive away). Most companies would have gotten it started and sent us on our way, but not this crew... thank you everyone, especially Carl read more

7 hours to get tires put onto a car is unacceptable! Three trips to your store for tires that should be all you need to know, 1st trip didn't have stem valves, so they put temp ones in, should have known this before even pulling vehicle to back. So not building trust at this point. Go back day 2 to put stem valves in leave and grab some food come out tires flat! Get towed home and then Firestone has to tow my car back to replace faulty stems. Tires didn't even stay inflated for 5 minutes I'm lucky it didn't come off at 65mph on the highway. Tire was completely flat within minutes THE TECH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM EVER DOING WORK ON CARS AGAIN ! Side note the tow company driver said this was his 2nd car he had to pick up for faulty work from same Firestone in one day. read more

My "appointment" time was 11am and I dropped my car off at 10am. I had not received a call, so I called them around 3:30 only to find out that nothing had been started. We brought our truck here for an oil change a tire rotation. We made an appointment several days in advance for 3pm. We arrived at 2:45 and they took the truck in right away. After waiting for more than 2 hours my husband went and asked how much longer it would be. To our surprise, they hadn't even started it yet! I asked the girl that works in the front what them problem was and she said they were backed up. Not ONCE did anyone EVER tell us they were backed up and it would be a while even though they knew we were waiting.... NOT ONCE! We have been to multiple Firestone stores around the country and have never had this issue. The store manager needs to tell the techs to not stand around drinking soda and chatting and do the job you're getting paid to do! I will NEVER be back to this store. read more

After reading these reviews, I was skeptical to using this location. I have since visited this location twice in the last week with excellent customer service and automotive work. I first went in to have two front tires replaced, had wonderful service, and a very quick turn around of about an hour. They courteously rotated my old tires to the front for no charge. After experiencing road noise from my old tires being in bad shape, I went online for another quote and found that they were offering the same tire at buy three get one free. After a call to the manager of the store, he happily offered to apply the discount to my two new tires, as well as the two that I had replaced today. This location will see my business again, as they went above and beyond the expected customer service, and offered to leave the car on the lot for an after hours pickup. read more

Took my VW in to have it aligned. They found bent passenger side strut & quoted around $800 to replace. $1,197.07 was quoted to replace both struts. I passed on that price & replaced them myself. You would think that is a pretty labor intensive job for that price. Wasn't bad at all & that was my first time replacing struts. Brought the car back and had it aligned. My son picked up the car while i was at work after the alignment was completed. When i arrived home and test drove the car it was making a very noticeable knocking noise coming from front driver side suspension. Took it back in first thing next morning and asked them to check out the noise. He refused to own any responsibility for the issue & said he could not even take a look at it until some time the next day. Keep in mind, my car was not making this noise until after the alignment. Knew i was getting nowhere with the employee so i ended up taking it to another shop. After explaining the issue to the owner of the other shop for about two minutes he was pretty sure he knew what it was. Drove my car for noise diagnostics & lifted it to find a loose bolt on the control arm. Tightened the bolt & charged me $0.00. I understand its about business, but there are mechanics out there who will take the time to look at your vehicle, fix the issue, & say have a nice day, that was too easy to charge you. And i certainly feel safer driving the car now w/out a loose control arm. read more

Went there for state inspection. Failed for license plate frame light, which I replaced last year. They wanted $14 to change it, I said no and went home rejected. Checked the lights at home and they all worked. I called them, told them, they called me a liar and said I needed to reinspect for 1 dollar. Went there with the same bulb unchanged, gave them my phone number and watched it be typed into the computer. They didn't call me for an hour and a half. I called them and it was ready, passed inspection with the same bulb. I paid my dollar and learned a valuable lesson: BUYER BEWARE OF THESE CON ARTISTS! read more

I went there for R&R of front and rear brakes. I was quoted extremely high at another service station, and called around for quotes. This firestone quoted me for less than 1/2 of what the original quote was for, and a little less than average for other repair stations. I called ahead - and it was on a Friday about 2:30 pm, they told me to come in right away - I was surprised at that. I was in and out in about an hr and 1/2. No fuss, they even gave me a coupon for a brake special and price was even lower. I mentioned that they had a few bad reviews previously. I was informed that they were taken over by new management and new mechanics. I will be coming back for future reapirs, oil changes, and inspections. read more

I made an appointment for two vehicles and hour apart and they didn't do any work for almost 1.5 hours after the first appointment! Then the lady tried to lie to my wife stating that since I didn't specifically state I needed the car done at any certain time, that implied that they could just get the cars in whenever. We took our 2018 Honda CRV to get the oil changed and the tires rotated and the car never made it out of the parking lot. Literally. They screwed up my wife's vehicle so badly it did not make it to the stop sign. They then took the vehicle back to the garage and took it for a test drive. They had to push the car back to the garage because it was completely disabled and would not go anywhere. I asked for the manager and I was told he was unavailable. I came to find out that instead of changing the oil they flushed the transmission even though that was not requested. So the car had to sit for several hours while they actually changed what we paid them to change and fix the damage done by their negligence. I was told the manager would contact me and this has yet to happen. Suffice it to say that it was not a fun experience when you are trying to get a simple oil change while accompanied by a six year old. The car was allowed to leave the parking lot with zero transmission fluid in it. Then the technician drove the vehicle for a test drive just to make sure it was truly damaged. They had to push it back to the garage for god's sake. This was our first time visiting this establishment and it will certainly be the last unless the CRV has any issues, then we will visit to gather evidence for further proceedings. After speaking with the receptionist, who was very nice and apologetic, it was learned that they drained the transmission fluid and never replaced the fluid because they did not have it in stock. I am not making this up! Then they sent my wife on her way, driving a vehicle that had ZERO transmission fluid and old oil. Several hours later, my wife was still sitting at the FIRESTONE garage! Not some local yokel garage run by a guy who never made it out of high school, a FIRESTONE garage! An oil change and a haircut for a six year old boy became sitting at a garage while missing the haircut for hours due to astonishing negligence on the part of Firestone. read more

I called desperate 5 minutes before closing with a problem (nail in a tire), and they said to come in and they would wait to get me taken care of. This rating really saddens me because I think the work they do is done well...when they actually get around to do it. Last June, I made an appointment for 7 am for an oil change, tire rotation and front end alignment. I dropped it off the night before. At 4 pm I went to the dealership and waited 2 more hours as it has not worked on all day! Not happy. Still, I liked the work they do so today I called to ask about a state inspection and if they thought it would be completed today and was told sure to bring it on down. I dropped it off within 20 minutes of the call, about 7:30 am and I called about it at 4 pm...was told the car was still 6th in line to be inspected...and not nicely either. I asked how many days does it usually take for a car to be inspected and just silence on the other end. My patience was worn out and went to get my car and keys without having the vehicle touched...no apology but was told they had cars that have been there for two days. So glad I asked that morning if getting the car inspected today would be feasible. I made an appointment at 10 a.m for an oil change and at 11:15 I went to pick up my car and it had not even been serviced yet! I was told that because I was not in the waiting room they did not think I needed my vehicle back at any certain time. Isn't that the reason you would schedule an appointment?! The lady that checked my vehicle in did not seem to care one bit and was very unprofessional. This is my first review I have ever written on a business before and I highly suggest going elsewhere. Not very loyal to their loyal costumers, I have been going here for years for all kinds of work and not sure if all of it would have been necessary after what happened today.I needed to get my car inspected and they informed me it would not pass inspection without getting 2 new tires ($400) so I told them to order them, made an apt to get them on the car, with my usual oil and filter change and the inspection. I got there a little before 7 and was told that they could change my tires and do the oil & filter but the inspection would be later in the afternoon. Wait, I am the first one here, why do I have to wait, after I made and apt and told you I had obligations at 10 am when I made the apt. The answer, there are 8 cars in front of you. How can that be when you make an apt and you are the first one in the shop. They can bring the cars in the night before. So why did no one tell me this when I made my apt. the answer I got was. Well, you did not talk to me. I told them again that I was not told this when I made my apt and asked if there was anything they could do. No, you did not talk to me was the reply. So I guess when you make an apt you have to talk to several people to make sure you are taken care of since they apparently don't communicate very well to each other. I went to the competition around the corner and got my car inspected with others in the front of me before noon, and I passed the inspection without having to buy new tires. They were still in great shape. I would say Firestone wanted me to spend money that was not necessary at all. read more

Stay away from these scam artists! Do not trust them. I went to have a leak in my tire plugged before a 4 hour trip on 9/13/16. The technician found the source on the tread face and showed it to me. However another guy (supervisor?) called me back to say that the repair couldn't be done; that the leak was too near the side wall, and that there was not enough tread on the tire surface to repair it. The tire would need to be replaced. Furthermore, since my car was an All Wheel Drive model, I couldn't simply have one tire replaced. I would have to replace all four. I told them to take it off the rack and give me my keys. I then filled up the leaking tire, drove it home 4 hours away and had my local gas station fix/plug the leak. I am having my Volvo dealer replace my two front tires, which have carried the weight of the engine for 30+K miles. Rear tires are fine. I cannot believe that these kind of "auto service centers" survive in business. They try to scare one into buying their services. In my case they refused to fix the leaking tire, thus potentially endangering me so they could try to make a sale. Absolutely disgusting, unprofessional behavior. Firestone should be ashamed. I suspect (after overhearing a conversation of another employee) that they must have some sort of commission payment system so that they can be compensated for the products they sell clients. Commission is not a bad word, but when it drives one to lie and try to cheat someone (yes, my car is from out of state) into buying products they don't need, it becomes a dirty word.
