I had a disappointing experience at this Firestone location today. I arrived early for an 11:30 a.m. tire alignment. After waiting about 30 minutes, I checked with the front desk to ensure everything was on track. One staff member asked if I'd spoken to someone else and told me to just talk to them again, rather than directly helping me. After following that instruction, I was told my appointment should be fine. However, by 12:45, after still not being seen, I had to leave. It turns out my appointment had never been properly printed/processed, and I'd been waiting for nothing. No one apologized or took responsibility. Arrived at our appointment time at 2:00 p.m. Online I said we wanted just an oil change. I told the front desk person that I just wanted an oil change, nothing else, and I didn't want anything checked. I briefly left, returning at 2:30 and noticed my car in the service bay. At 3:00, the person called me up and said we needed a tire rotation and an air filter change. I told him we had just had that done at another place a few days earlier. At 3:30, I noticed our car was on the lift and the service person was just then draining the old oil out of the car! Finally, left at 4:00. Two hours for an oil change?! I explained how the person in the service department raised his voice at me and reprimanded me and humiliated me in front of everyone in the waiting room. I had them do an oil change and "complete vehicle inspection". The oil change appears to have been good but expensive, although it was full synthetic oil, which costs more. They told me the cost ahead of time, so I signed up for higher cost. But the inspection was a disappointment. It was basically paying them to try to sell me more services. They recommended 4 new tires (partly accurate, as the tires are old, but they will last for a few thousand miles more, IMHO). They claimed the brake fluid was low and should be exchanged - bad advice. First the fluid was right where the manufacturer recommends and, second, the fluid is almost new, as I replaced when I did the last brake job on the car. They claimed the oil was low which makes no sense because they just replaced it and it was on the mark. They suggested a coolant exchange, but the coolant is fine and clear, as it was replaced last year. They recommended a wheel alignment, but I don't see any evidence of asymmetrical tire wear - so maybe right and maybe unnecessary. read more

A good experience today and yes, today is Sunday. This Firestone is taking appointments and doing service work on a Sunday. My little road warrior has been making a grinding noise at stop signs so let's check it out. The garage opened earlier than 8am and then the service area opened on the dot with the service managers unlocking the door and starting immediately. The very professional service manager took my details, and let me know that I would be hearing from them soon. Social distancing is in place with masks required and waiting chairs well separated. They definitely need a plexiglass partition. I opted to leave the car rather than wait, telling Kelly that any time today would be fine. A couple of hours later, Kelly called to give me the damage. Yes, you need new brakes in the front and the also recommended some other service that was suggested. I took them up on some of it and gave approval. She discounted some of the work as a courtesy (it's always nice to be nice) and gave the "out the door" total. By early afternoon, I had an email and a voice mail that my car was ready. I returned, paid and was on my way. The price was exactly what Kelly quoted on the phone. The new brakes work great and I'm pleased. As I was waiting for my car to be inspected (fortunately on the spot) another worker inside was upselling customers like crazy. BE CAREFUL. They are some scammers. So many unnecessary fees and add-ons. Regarding tires, they may be great quality but not for over 1k for all four tires. Do your research. Their price match is BS as well. I went to boynton location but every other car dealership like good year, easy pay tire store, and jiffy lube really want your money more than to help you. Update 4/14/22 - I was told I would get a call within 48 hours to rectify the situation. 120 hours later, no call. Update - The app doesn't have the receipt either. So not only does the salesman lie, theCS lies too. I was told service would take 2 hours. I was there for 5 hours & no updates were given. If I didn't inquire how much longer, I would still be there! As soon as I inquired they gave it to me so either work was not done or it was done & they were not planning on telling me. They said receipt would be emailed to me but I never received a receipt. So I have no way of knowing what was done. Their customer service is worse than their shop. The salesman lied to me when I asked for a receipt & customer service is not willing to rectify their lying staffs lies. I don't have time to drive back to location for the receipt. By choice, I have Firestone tires on all of my daily used vehicles (The Indy 500 is a great high performance tire). I just got back from my scheduled visit to get the tires balanced and a wheel alignment (purchased the unlimited plan). 9780 S. Military Trail, Boynton Beach FL. I have always had minor issues with the mechanics (at this shop and other firestones) that just simply do not know how to do the most basic things, like torque a wheel correctly or in my case not torquing them at all. I watched as the mechanic Hammered my lug bolts in with an impact gun at 120 to over 140 ft. lbs.! (confirmed by the service manager) The correct torque for my car is 104 ft. lbs. This is dangerously tighter that it should be. When I confronted the service manager, Taylor about the torque issue, he responded that "we always torque the wheels". He sent the same mechanic back to my car to correct the problem. Listen closely... I watched as he put the torque wrench on the bolt and and listened for the click. (the click means that you have reached the correct torque. The mechanic then says that "its torqued"! What he doesn't understand is that you need to loosen the bolt first in order to tighten it to get an accurate and correct torque. Understanding that, my wheels are still over torque way too much and the mechanic has no idea what I'm talking about, I went back the service manager, Taylor. THIS IS BASIC CAR MECHANIC 101 STUFF FOLKS. I also noticed that he chipped and scratched my wheels by carelessly knocking the socket into the place where the bolts go. ( I counted about nine new chips). Taylor did confirmed these fresh chips when I showed them to him. When entering the car, my driver's seat had a big grease circle. I called the manager over and he tried to get it all clean but it was still easily seen. The Manager volunteered to re-torque the wheels properly himself. He drove to the back and began attempt to loosen the bolts. He struggled greatly trying to loosen the over tightened bolts. He needed to switch his impact gun with a more powerful one because they were so tight. We both confirmed that they were originally over-torqued by at-least 120 to 140+ ft. lbs. *TORQUED THIS TIGHT CAN PERMININTELY DAMAGE YOUR WHEELS FOLKS"! I made an appointment to get my tire looked at since I had a slow leak. When I arrived they were very busy. My car was taken in and the nasty service man asked if i had to tool to unlock my tire. I said no, It's in the car. He said it wasn't and he wouldn't be able to get the tire off. The first time I came here last year I purchased a new tire so they were the last people to use the tool. He kept talking to me like I was an idiot. He said the technician should have gave you tool back. I said I've never seen it or used it. I asked to be checked out. He said I was all set. He never offered to put air in my tires or anything. When I got to my car the plastic and paper was still in the car, paperwork attached to my window. No one every came over to assist me. I decided to come here for supposed to be a quick oil change instead of driving all the way down to JMLexus. What makes this a review a one star is that the technician cracked my oil housing cap which I understand that it happens. They ordered the oil housing cap from an Autozone nearby and waited for it to be delivered here at Firestone. 30 minutes later I had asked the guy at the desk to follow up, and hold and behold, the driver has not arrived to pick it up to deliver it. Firestone finally sent one of their workers to pick it up. The technician finally got to install it and I was on my way home after 3.5 hrs of being there. As soon as I got home, I opened the hood and I was shocked that the oil cap filter was not on and was sitting at the right side of the fuse panel box, oil all over inside the hood and now on my driveway. Very unacceptable. Instead of saving time, now I have to spend time cleaning under the hood and on my driveway for oil spillage. Beware for other people who goes here for oil change. Always check under the hood to make sure they put the oil cap back in place. read more

If I could sum up my feelings in one word its...disappointment. I've been coming to this Firestone location for over ten years. I recently came in for a coolant system check, and the recommended repairs I got added up to $1,300! This included a new water pump, new hoses, new thermostat. Now the water pump I know needed replacing, however the price I was being charged was $174.99! The part anywhere else goes for around $60. I know Firestone will mark up the price to make a profit but that's ridiculous! The labor costs were also crazy! $175 for hoses! $210 for water pump! $140 for the thermostat! None of these parts take that much time to install. The billable hours should've been around 2 hours! I ended up having my mechanic in Boca complete this repair and the total for water pump & thermostat ended up being around $450. They also determined that my radiator hoses were in great condition and didn't need replacing. read more

I found several service centers that would patch or plug the tire. The tire has been fine now for a week. Fair to say some service centers that sell,tires wouldn't recommend a patch or plug. They gave me their 101 point inspection, or whatever it is. They said all was good, they couldn't find anything wrong. A few days later A squeak developed in my rear driver side. Thinking it was a bad bearing, (since they said my breaks were good), I bought the parts to make the repair.... To my surprise.. I had no rear breaks.... This Firestone location has FAR EXCEEDED my hopes and expectations on numerous visits because of its professionalism and fair pricing. On 6/30/2019, the store manager Rob Ashton went over and above, even showing me the hidden/secret release for my SUV's spare tire, which is suspended beneath the trunk. That will save future frustration! (My dealer SHOULD have shown me that trick!!!) Additionally, on other visits, David, Nick, and Raymond ALL provided me excellent customer service. Brought my car in to get tire patched. Had a nail it it. They patched it in 45 minutes. Noticed they didn't put my cap back on, put a black one on. I asked where mine was and they said that was mine. I would not recommend using Firestone on Military Ave. I went there for a normal oil change. While I was there they attempted to sell me additional items, and to get me to sign up for their charge card for an additional $500. I went along with one option and refused all other recommendations. After a few days from this service I noticed a discoloration on my driveway from some type of leak. I went back to Firestone to have the car checked for any kind of leak. They refused to check the car unless I paid an additional $43 to perform a pressure test. Since I felt that I had no options I accepted the pressure test. They stated that results of the analysis showed no leaks. When I got home I placed cardboard under the car and the next day it had fluid showing. I then went to another auto repair shop and it turned out that the oil cap was loose and they repaired the situation. I've been coming to this Firestone since I was 18 years old and I have never had an issue until the other day. I was charged double the price for ONE ignition coil that was replaced and then tried to get pushed into replacing the rest of them at $150 EACH (450 dollars for three coils, are you serious?) when they get the part from Autozone at about $80. (Yeah, I called) I've never had to pay DOUBLE for a part they get at another shop. This is a new experience for me and I will not be coming back unless they can make this right. read more
