My son and I stopped at the UPS store and when we got back into his car it wouldn't start, he walked over to Ultimately Auto Service and spoke to Ryan the manager, he then said he couldn't leave the store but he loaned us his jumper box , we walked back to the car started it and drove back to Ryan and he said (after my son said he had the ac tuning without the engine running ) it was probably the Ac drained the battery, so we did not spend any $ yet the service was unbroken, there is very few business's would loan out a $$$ jumper box to a complete stranger!!! Went in to repair an issue with the drivers side tire. It was vibrating and I could feel something was wrong. Paid to have a lot of work done but the issue with the tire remained the same. No doubt that work they found needed to be done, but the guy said the tire is still an issue when he handed me the keys. I noticed that every time I break now the steering wheel starts to shake back and forth on its own which didn't happen until after the repairs. Kind of scratching my head thinking did I pay for every problem except the one that I wanted to fix and did I inherit a new problem as a result? It's a good shop and they do excellent work but it's the first time I've walked out feeling like something isn't right. read more

The other day a couple of warning lights came on in my Honda. I looked through the owner's manual to see if it would give me a clue. No. I went online for help, everybody seemed to point to needing a new battery. I brought it to one of the stores that run a quick diagnostic on the battery. She said the battery was good, but I might have the alternator checked and she recommended Ultimate Auto. I made an appointment and brought it in the on the proper day. They took the car (it was a drop-off) and got to it before lunch and called me. There is nothing wrong with the battery or the alternator, but they did do a reset to the car and the lights were now off. I told them about a month ago, I had the oil changed and the oil change place wanted to put on a new *something* gasket for $250. Like I was going to let an oil change place that would hire somebody like me to change the oil..really? No. The checked everything again later in the day and said, nothing was needed. I went to pick up my car and there was absolutely no charge. Yes, they did not do anything but check the car and reset the lights. But they did not charge me anything! How does that even happen? I know if something does go wrong with my car, I am going to bring it back here. Plus, there is a great little Italian place just a few steps away! read more

I'd heard about Ultimate from a friend who swears by them. But I usually got my oil changed wherever there was a sale and I didn't think too much about it until I needed a headlight changed. Goodyear and Firestone wanted $135. So I took a chance and called Ultimate. Jim answered the phone and when I asked, he said, 10 bucks. My car wouldn't start and I needed to find a new mechanic in the area quickly. I had AAA tow it here to Ultimate, and long story short, the car started for them. They kept it overnight to make sure it would still start the next day, and when I picked it up they didn't charge me for their time at all. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Take your car to the dealer or somewhere else. From the moment you walk in there you can tell they don't want you to be there. They don't have any computers in the shop so if you're using a warranty good luck you'll have to make the calls your self as they only have a fax machine. This review should have been done years ago but it's never too late. So, it all started one day over 4 - 5 years ago when I brought in my old 1996 Infiniti Q45 for a vibration issue underneath as well as a brake job. Jim, the owner, was still actively "turning wrenches" at the time and he took this job personally. After over a week of troubleshooting, Jim couldn't figure out the source of the vibration but was determined to fix the problem. So, without asking me first, he proceeded in replacing some of the major parts underneath the car - about $2,000+ worth - and in the end, he still couldn't identify the problem. Nevertheless, he only charged me for the brake job! Who does that? What Jim did earned my respect, loyalty and support for him and his business. Since then, I have been a repeat customer. I often wish that car repair shops - and businesses, in general - have the type of owner like Jim in the helm. I understand that Jim no longer turns wrenches and just manages Ultimate. I only wish that he does, but as the years ago, he let the younger mechanics and techs do these functions. To this day, I would still highly recommend Ultimate Auto Care as long as Jim is still the active owner/manager because if there are any issues, I feel that he will resolve matters fairly for the customers. To be fair, I can't vouch for his current cadre to mechanics and techs, but I am assuming they're all certified to conduct repairs on both routine and complex jobs. YMMV. read more

I then called Ultimate Auto service and spoke with Mike, he right away told me the approx. cost which was less then half of the price of auto nation. I've been going to Ultimate Auto Service since 2006. This place was recommended to me by a friend as I was searching for an honest and rightly priced auto shop. Well I found it! Honest? Rightly priced? Great Service? Yes! Yes! and Yes! Mentioning Honest and rightly priced in the same sentence with an auto repair shop is like saying honest and truthful with lawyers. lol. But Ultimate Auto is that place! As I stated I've been coming here since 2006 and will continue to go here until I move, if I ever do. They have always been honest with me with what is wrong with my vehicles and have never tried to sell me, or overcharge me for anything more than what I needed. How do I know this? Because I have someone who is a retired mechanic that always takes a look at my car before I bring it. Ultimate Auto always mentions the exact same problems that my mechanic friend says. These guys aren't good. Had a dashboard light on. They kept the car for three days and all they did was reset the sensor. The light went back on the next day. I'm not sure what rating to give this business. It doesn't deserve a bad rating based on one employee. But because of said employee I will not return to this business. A little backstory on my situation: I had an issue with intermittent starting in my car. It was not a predictable issue, I was told it was fixed but I still experienced the issue after bringing it here. I understand an issue like this is not the easiest to diagnose but I paid to have an issue fixed and it was not. My issue isn't with the work done it's with the absolute lack of people skills one of their employees are missing. Jim specifically. Arriving from Boston to visit my father in law I was freaked out by how poorly his Camry was running- chugging and lagging and choking along ; at 200K it's still going but on the cut throat boulevards of West Palm to loose your acceleration could cost you your life- red lights are for sissy's and lanes are suggestions so getting out of the way is paramount! He's not really on his game right now and thus has no idea the last time he had a tune up. Yelping around where I was trying to grocery shop I see this place- 5 stars? I call. Yes, they will see us. Come on by. Thank you. We pull in to a full parking lot. 4 bays full of cars, people waiting and still, some one goes and checks the car within five minutes of us pulling in. Thank you. I called & spoke to Mike for a quote on replacing a starter on my 2007 Dodge Caliber. I told him I'd previously gotten a quote from Palm Beach Tire in WPB for $225 - but they were closed Sundays. He told me $330, then said I could buy the part but he wouldn't warranty it. The part is less than $100 at Auto Zone and it's an hour and 15 minute job! So, I should pay this guy $230 for 1.16 hours of labor? He tried to BS me off the phone; about whether I was quoted for a poor quality starter, etc. DON'T BELIEVE EVERY REVIEW YOU READ! Only had one mis-diagnostic which was a nightmare. they missed the real problem. After chasing 4 parts they figured it out. anyway, I sold that car soon after.... Stopped in here because the tire pressure light went on in our car. They checked the pressure, added air, didn't charge us (we gave a nice tip). All this was done with a smile.
