I had an issue that required follow-up, and it took over a month for anyone to get back to me. When I finally spoke with Eric Johnson to explain my situation, he became frustrated and hung up on me. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I will never be taking any of my cars back to any Firestone after my experience with this manager and with corporate. I've had my car inspected at multiple other shops, and they all said that Firestone caused a tear in my boot, resulting in leaking. Plus, they charged me $1100 to not fix what I came in there for. I took an appointment for 2pm on Sep 18th 2016. I came and spoke to a service advisor and asked if I can drop and pick my vehicle once the service is done. She told me my work will be done by 3:30 pm When I came back at 3:35pm she says that my vehicle is not picked yet since I dropped it. I came here last minute after work, so around 6:00pm to get my brakes fixed. I was happy that they were actually open. Usually auto repair shops are all closed by 5:00pm and weekends, so I really appreciated the convenience here. I did feel that convenience was placed in the pricing of parts and labor as they are not the cheapest around, not by a long shot, but hey, what are you going to do when you literally have no other options?! I went back to this Firestone location today. Actually, I've been back several times since my first review. My service hasn't always been immediately perfect on every issue (and with the amount of diving I do, there are many issues), but the end result has always been to my satisfaction. Service quotes have been very fair and every diagnosis has been thorough. Today was no exception! The usually easy full synthetic oil change and a bit of an A/C problem (record warm day today too). My A/C took some research, but it's working perfectly at a price that didn't break me. I am so happy to have found a reliable shop with which I have built a rapport. They are great people and they do great work at fair price. Gerardo Garcia the store manager went above and beyond in helping me in getting my car get certified for the state. I had several codes that had not reset, but he had me come in every day and he check it for me with no cost, or worry of his time to make sure they all had been reset. So, that if I went back to get the car tested it would not fail. After several weeks, all the codes had finally reset and the car passed inspection. About the world of mechanics, there are scant positive words expressed. I brought in my car for two routine services: oil change and tire rotation. (In addition, there was a water leak I had them check on.) While my car was in the air (as I call it) for the rotation, the service man discovered a rusty bolt. It was no ordinary bolt, as it is the one that keeps the control arm (that steers your wheel) in place. So, you know, just a wee bit important. Instead of charging me up to wazoo to fix it, the manager (a professional employee if there ever was one) recommended I take it to the dealer. Dealership often floats a lone image in one's mind: $$$$$$. Following his advice, I took the car to the dealer. The bolt in question was a involved in a call-back for my car; $1,200 repair for $0. Instead of Firestone milking me for what I'm worth, the manager, as a consumer, gave me money-saving advice. Sincerely, I am thankful for such service. Return, I will. read more

No star rating from me, only hit 1 becaus I had too. If you want your car hood to fly open causing damage as soon as you pull out Firestone after having work done to it. You pay full price , the auto tech and Manager say it's not their fault. And then realize they didnt even complete the work to your car even though you paid for the service. First it was that they left all caps off of tires after rotation. Second was them losing windshield washer fluid cap and wanted to charge me for it. Third and final strike they replaced tire pressure sensor and 2 days later had air leaking from valve making a flat tire. When I called there was a rude man who I talked to who barely spoke or responded when I spoke to him. I received no apologies and there was no accountability. Do not go to this Firestone! read more

Dishonest!!! I took my car in because I heard a terrible noise when I put on the breaks. I wanted firestone to do a cleaning and adjustment of the back breaks. A month prior when I got an oil change and tire rotation I had them look at the brakes to see what they looked like, they recommend this. I also had them do a full vehicle inspection. When they looked at the brake pads they told me, just by looking at them, I did not need them replaced. Upon further inspection the breaks were not the cause of the noise I heard - the problem was a bolt missing from the lower front right control arm. It appeared the bolt had rusted and fallen out. They even showed me what they were looking at and explained, somewhat, what they would have to do to replace the bolt. Knowing this sounded like a serious issue I agreed it had to be fixed and fixed before I drove it again. Well, back to my breaks after they explained all this to me, regarding the bolt, they came back to me and said they actually took, what I believe to be what they said a micrometer to measure the pads. They said they indeed needed to be replaced and I should flush the brake fluid. . . . Fine I got that quote . . . I had been expecting that the break replacement was coming because I had nearly reached the 60K miles on my car! I told them to wait on doing anything until the next day! I 'm glad I waited because I got to looking into the whole control arm bolt issue and called Toyota Warranty, I have an extended warranty! The warranty department told me that what I was explaining to them did not sound right labor wise and the repair work could possibly be covered however they needed more information on the whole issue before they could tell me yea or nay. So I called Firestone and talked to Joe. When I told Joe that it might be covered and needed him to talk to Toyota Warranty department to explain to them what was going on, because I'm not a mechanic.. . . . He immediately got defensive and told me they would not work with Toyota and he could not make that call BUT they could call him!! Hummmm . . . . I immediately became suspicious about what firestone was telling me. I asked Joe to tell me exactly what the work order for the mechanic said, so I could try and reiterate to Toyota again, and he claimed he could not! Based on the attitude and lack of apparent ability to read mechanic reports to help me understand exactly the scope of work I was looking at paying for I took my car straight to Toyota! However upon the pickup of my car at Firestone I paid them for the complete vehicle inspection, I went over the invoice and vague recommendations listed within and asked for the Vehicle Inspection Report Check List and Joe told me there was no other reports other than the customer invoice. Funny because I've had them give me a vehicle inspection check list in the past BUT this time it was not available. . . Fine not worth the argument I've made up my mind I'm done with them. Back to my breaks though! I asked Toyota, since it was in at Firestone and they told me my breaks needed replaced to please look at them and replace them. Well Toyota called me later and said, thank goodness they are honest, that the back breaks were at 2mm and they were only at 50% so I was nowhere near needing replacement. I cannot for the life of me remember what Firestone told me they were at mm wise but the fact is they would not give me the vehicle inspection check list sheet and the first time they told me no they didn't need replaced based on just eyeing them but then they "Claimed" they actually measured them and they measured essentially "needing to be replaced" . . . . REALLY! Well, I believed them. I want to say they actually measured my brake pads and decided "let's take advantage of this girl!" I know this is not the first time this has happened and this unfortunately happens all the time but how often does one find out! It's disheartening and really arsine that they treated me the way they did especially when they knew my problem could be under warranty and I was not having them possibly do any kind of work! They point blank did not like the fact that I did not just give in and have them do the work. Lesson learned - always look into what they are claiming if possible. I always took my car to Firestone, however I WILL NOT in the future not even for my free tire rotation! EVER! I believe there are honest mechanic shops/businesses out there and not all firestone complete auto care outfits are corrupt. I honestly believe that one considering any type of mechanic solutions should read reviews on specific places they are considering service and the way they do business and I recommend a mechanic that has a good repertoire with someone you know well and trust! P.S. IF anyone tells you that Flushing the Brake Fluid is necessary don't give in! I looked into that too and it is a USUALLY a scam! Toyota even said it rarely needs flushing!!! read more

At this firestone I still paid more and the guy told me when i got there 20 minutes early that they were busy and couldn't take the car in until my scheduled time of 10, ok understandable! He said it would be ready 45 minutes after they pulled it in at 10. I left and came back at 1047 and they hadn't even taken it in yet! A call would have been nice! I enjoy changing my own oil, doing my own brakes, etc. But when I need a break from doing my own maintenance or new tires, I take my car to this Firestone location. The people there are up front about costs and needs. They do not try to tack on additional work. The car is done pretty much when they say it will be done. Needed a tire checked for low pressure on a Sunday. No places were open except this so, with trepidation, I went in expecting to be told I need all new brakes and four new tires. Surprisingly, I was sent out with a new valve stem and everything was good. The service was fast and efficient. It was an overall pleasant experience and I will surely be back. read more

I brought in my 2005 suv on a Saturday to have them look at my rear brakes. For a couple days I was hearing occasional noise from the brakes when I slowed down. I was concerned about safety, and since my regular mechanic was closed till Monday, brought my vehicle over to Firestone in Aurora. After about a half hour, one of the service guys told me I need new pads, rotors, and calipers. He said my rear caliper was stuck, brake pads worn down, and rotors were half of what they should be. Quoted me $ 704.00 to do the work. I was taken aback by the price, told them,no thanks and left. Couple days later, after the weekend, when my regular car mechanic was open on Monday, I had him inspect my brakes. He said rare brakes were FINE, plenty of life left on the pads, and everything else checked out good ! He said the noise I heard was probably a pebble or stone that got stuck in the brakes. So basically Firestone wanted to replace a bunch of parts that weren't worn out, or needed ! Just to take advantage of me and have me spend several hundred dollars for unnecessary repairs ! To say I am really angry and upset, would be an understatement ! As far as the positive reviews here for them, I think they are made up B.S. I am warning hardworking and honest people to stay away from Firestone ! Find a good mechanic that will be honest and fair when estimating and working on your car. read more

I have been going to this firestone location for years, with management of the shop changing several times. The service , and pricing had been pretty good. My recent experience with new management, and staff, was outstanding. My wife needed new tires for her SUV. So, received a quote from Firestone, when I was having the oil changed on my car. Took the quote, and shopped online for a better deal. Well, a better deal came up, and it actually was from Firestone. I called the shop, and they explained that this type of tire was only available in3 stores nationwide, and would take 3 weeks to get. Bill, who took the call, sensed that I was somewhat irritated that the company would advertise this deal, with his store location, and not have it in stock. So, he offered me a better tire, for about the same price. My wife dropped off the car, and after a long day, her and I went to pick up the car right at closing time. Johnathan, the man at the counter, explained that the temps sensor had broken at the valve, and needed to be replaced, costing another 150 dollars. I was not happy, complaining that I did not see why they could not use non tpms valves on the wheels. Plus, it was the end of the day, and a long week for me. Johnathon took care of us, explaining why it would be a good idea to have this sensor, and gave us the valve for free. So, both bill and johnathan created a terrific experience for us with their shop. The shop is clean, they do great work, and know the meaning of service, pricing is very competive, not only on tires, but I have used them for air conditioning, brakes, oil changes, etc. I highly recommend this firestone store and shop! read more

Never in my life have I received customer service the way I have at this location. Their Service Manager, Tilson Thompson, goes above. Never do I have to worry about being up sold. I literally take my vehicle in and tell him to let me know what I need. He is very honest and rest assure no worries of him just adding something that's no needed. Like Discount Tire, Pep Boys or NBT. Keep up the good work. If you need your vehicle worked on Firestone on New York and Eola is the place to go. Ask for Tilson. Remember good things aren't always cheap and cheap things are not always good. It's better to spend a little more than you want to, then to spend a little less than you should have. My brakes had become spongy, squeaky and "rattled." I first took it to the DEALER who told me I needed front pads and rotors, plus rear pads, rotors and calipers. I was quoted nearly $2,800 from the dealer! I took it to this Firestone who told me I need the same repairs. The difference? Firestone was just over $900 for the exact same repairs! Plus, Firestone also included a lifetime warranty (including labor) on the rear for the calipers, rotors, pads and pads on the front! They also noted a few other minor items the car needed and were very reasonably priced. For example, an in-cabin air filter was $45 to replace, the dealer charges $110! Besides their fair prices, I agree with other reviewers that they do not suggest any unnecessary repairs or maintenance. They also communicate very well and just seem to want to do a good job! read more

Anyone considering going to firestone for car repair, don't. They told me I needed 3 new mounts costing over $700. Luckily, I took my car to my regular shop (Carx in Naperville- highly recommend them) to see if they could get me a better deal and to double check that's what I needed. They found NOTHING wrong with my car. All of my mounts were fine. There was nothing else wrong with my car, AT ALL. They took us back and showed us and checked everything else. Firestone was going to charge me over $700 for a problem two other mechanics said doesn't exist. I'm a young girl, went in alone and I'm sure it happends all the time but I'm so glad I took it to my regular shop who has always been very honest and real with me and didn't charge me a penny to check it out. read more

I would give negative 5 stars if possible for lack of ethics. Several months ago I took my truck here because my regular mechanic isn't open on weekends and they are located just up the street from me. BIG MISTAKE! I was hearing a creaking noise that I was concerned about. They told me they couldn't replicate the noise and that it was probably a piece that was hanging but that they couldn't do anything about because it wasn't authorized work. BUT they could do a whole laundry list of other things. I declined some of the things and I think they may have claimed to have given me a deal on some of the others (YEAH RIGHT). Not knowing anything about cars but wanting to make sure my vehicle was safe I let them do several hundreds of dollars worth of work. I continued to hear the creaking noise and thought it was just because my vehicle is old. After all the well trained mechanics of Firestone didn't find anything. Today I had my truck at my regular mechanic's because I was hearing some brake noise. After checking my vehicle without me even mentioning the creak he told me I had a broken sway bar. When he explained what it did I knew right away I'd been duped by Firestone. That was the noise I was hearing. Since Firestone couldn't hear enough cha-ching for fixing that they piled on a bunch of, I'm sure, unnecessary work to bill me for so the mechanics could get a nice fat bonus for bringing in a bigger order. It was a little hard to write this review because I feel like a big fool because I trusted Firestone. Glad I didn't have a breakdown because of their lack of integrity.
