Never been, I decided to check it out, especially as supporter of indie bookstores. The past four days I've stopped by bookstores in Bandon, Waldsport, Manzanita, and Lincoln City. It's always feels like a combo of adventure, treasure hunt, and spontaneity checking out the shelves. Made it up the stairs, opened the door gate, and greeted the presumed owner. She was very welcoming and offered assistance to any genre of interest in the bookstore. Always a good sign when others were also actively browsing. I always make a beeline to cookbooks. I found a particular title of interest, became giddy, and definitely will make the sale. To be fair, I did wander other sections too. Well arranged, well curated, and that bookstore scent. Looks like cash transactions are preferred over cards, just an fyi. Thankfully, my purchase was an even twenty bucks. Completed my purchase and wished the owner a good day. I wish I knew the journey of how this title and particular find found its way to Nye Beach Book House. I also wonder how folks with mobility limitations can visit this book store with stairs and its tight spots for maneuverbility. Me being a notorious klutz, I made sure to take care going up and down the stairs. A spontaneous visit and finding this title, I later discover it's worth over five to nearly seven times what was paid. This bookstore is quirky, unique, and definitely worth a visit for any bibliophile!

This is a tiny bookstore in the Nye Beach walking streets -- amid vacation rentals and boutique…read morecafes. We stopped because the look of the place from the outside was intriguing -- the house is dolled up and looks like it may have been somebody's beach home at one tie -- and the second story may still be. Hard to tell. They have a very limited selection of mostly metaphysical books, though there are a few others in the mix. We didn't find anything we needed, but it's an interesting place. I suspect their selection is wider in the summer months when the area is full of visitors and shoppers.

The employee was very friendly and helpful. In addition, the store had just about any retro game and console that you may be looking for at a reasonable price. I picked up three PlayStation 1 games, one PlayStation 2 game, 1 PlayStation 4 game, and two PlayStation Portable games. I paid $55. I'm very happy with my visit and I hope to return someday! This isn't a store for all as some of the items may turn a stomach or two. Lots of antique and vintage skulls, sculptures, lots of Victorian period items, weird medical devices that were used somewhere at sometime. My mouth did drop open a time or two while browsing. I understand that they make their own candles which made the store smell delightful. Pricing is fair for most items. I did end up with a couple of prized possessions. I saw that they perform tarot readings in the back of the store for a fee. Service was friendly and helpful. If I lived here I know I would probably be a regular shopper here.

I absolutely love blown glass and I've collected many through the years. This blue and white one just spoke to me. The colors are gorgeous. The nice lady who was working was in the middle of a glass blowing class orientation but she stopped to ring up my purchase and told me that if I needed anything else to email and she could send pictures. I plan on returning to Newport as soon as possible and this cute store will definitely be on my list. They had matching ornaments that I initially missed, but I'll check those out on my next visit!
