They wanted to bury a line that ran through my property to my neighbors. They asked my wife for permission at which point she told them they needed to deal with me, her husband about the request. I was never contacted. PERIOD. 2 days later I Come home to a trench running from my backyard to my front driveway. Come to find out they decided to lay the line without permission! I contacted charter and angrily expressed my issue with them. A supervisor came out to my house a day or so later telling me they have an easement and didn't need my permission. What do I want an apology? I told him to show me the easement- as I had already done my homework, contacting my title company. There was only 1 easement for pacific power! After 2 months of dealing with a regional manager, they finally agreed they had no easement and no right to bury the line on my property without my permission. I made them remove the line and negotiated a small cost to them to repair what they had done. However, due to their blatant disregard for personal property and lack of knowledge regarding their rights of easements I will never do business with them. I wonder how many other people they were able to strong-arm... Others who may not have taken the time to make sure charter was doing things legally and ethically...

The fluctuation in speed is what I find the most egregious. I'll go from 25ish Mbps dl to under 4Mbps dl in seconds. Meanwhile in the central valley of California I was getting, at $10 extra, 90Mbps dl constantly.

I usually reserve my feelings about service companies until they really prove themselves. Today I…read morestopped in at Cascade Wireless, an agent for U.S. Cellular. I was greeted by a sales person by the name of Lea. Wow what a difference from the experience I had at one of the other U.S. Cellular locations. Lea, was one of the most helpful service employees I have dealt with. She answered my question, she didn't try to sell me a more expensive service plan that I was interested in. She just left me with a feeling of appreciation for taking the time to help me. I stopped by this business because of the trouble I've had with my Verizon service, and the dropped calls I've experience with Verizon. Lea set me up with a temporary service that I can compare with Verizon, so far it appears U.S. Cellular is superior and provides a better signal at my home. Price wise the monthly costs are close, U.S. Cellular's plan gives me more data for the money than the plan I have with Verizon.

One of the reasons I always recommended this company was because they were affordable and HAD great communication with there customers they always informed us of any changes but with how high my bill will be a month is beyond ridiculous especially without any notice!! We are located about 1.75 miles from the FiberXStream antenna on top of Stukel Mountain. For the past year, and getting progressively worse, FiberXStreram download speed has deteriorated to the point that it is unacceptable/unusable for over 50% of the time. Download speeds at below 1Mbps many times during the evening. Complete breaks in internet connection. There are times that the download speed is between 10Mbps to a rare 15Mbps but that is usually early in the a.m. By noon it is almost always below 5Mbps. I have had technical reps out to check my system and theirs and it was their system. For a short while after the service call my download speed was above 5Mbps but it then quickly deteriorated back to the same poor download speed. I have sent them numerous email notifications of the poor service but no response. My wife and I are both on the internet with our laptops in the evening and it's impossible to stream a few videos off of facebook or Youtube without constant buffering. There are and have been times when we have been able to view a streamed Netflix movie without buffering but that is a more rare situation. We are at the point of having to seek out a new ISP. BTW, our contract is unlimited bandwidth so there should be no throttling back on download speed. I am pretty sure that it is poorly maintained equipment or the equipment is limited as to the total number of accounts it can handle before the download speed is can support the number of customers accessing this antenna. I have to rate them very poor and would advise finding a more reliable ISP if you do any video streaming.
