Clean chimney removed and then replaced both the cement crown and stucco coating and added a stainless steal cap as well as removing/replacing surrounding shingle and flashing. They returned a month later and put a sealant on the new stucco. The work was not cheap but absolutely phenomenal. It looks like a brand new chimney completely sealed once again. He did not ask me to update or change my review but was sincere in his apology and desire to do better. For that, they live up to the reputation they are known for, which is one of excellence. Here is my original review: I waited a bit before writing this review because I know a bad review can really hurt a company. After years of hearing Chimneys Plus recommended for everything from Chimney cleaning to gutters, I contacted them for a gutter quote. I wasn't going to be home when they arrived but was told they would be fine with my barking dogs so set up a date and morning time. When I got home 3 hours later, they had recently arrived so had been running late. Not a big deal but something to note if one was planning to take off work or had other plans. I'm not sure who the gentleman was who spoke with me but he was very knowledgeable and VERY persuasive. In other words, a good salesman. I was in a rush as I had many things to do but he didn't seem to take my cues to shorten his spiel. Still, I let myself be convinced I was going to ignore the quote of the company that did my roof which was significantly less than the verbal quote I was given on site. I requested to be sent alternatives in costing. For example, what would it cost if I just did the gutters without the gutter guards (and told the reasons this would be a TERRIBLE idea). I asked to include what if I did gutter guards in the back but not the front as one of the options. Or what if I started with just the back of the house (that verbal quote was the entire amount of the other companies full house quote -- but to the credit of Chimney plus, it did include guards whereas the other companies entire house quote of the same amount did not.) I expected to see an email quote either later that evening or the next day. Instead, the VERY NEXT DAY I was sent an email asking to please write a Google Review. Whaat?? I haven't even gotten the work done or received my quote!? I was told they are very busy and it would be a wait for the actual installation -- which again, I was willing to do. However, it has now been over a week and I never got a quote. At this point, I've gone with the other company and will use gutter guards from costco. You guys could have had my business -- and I'm sure would have done a good job. But no follow up after over a week isn't good practice.

Things to note: - The communication, payments and scheduling were disjointed and I do agree with Crystal W., the previous poster, on this point. Based on my experience, I would recommend that this company hire an office manager or some type of scheduling/accounting assistant to manage scheduling and billing. Paul appears to manage it all himself and communicates mostly through texts after 9pm, though it is possible to get him on the phone during the day. - Have Paul come out and do the consultation and have everything ready and prepared for your estimate 3 months in advance when you want to get on the schedule-the business is busy and you'll likely need some lead time before getting on the schedule. - For our experience, we paid 50% for the flooring and then the remaining 50% a couple of days before installation. This was done directly with the flooring vendor (not Sedaris); the Sedaris crew will pick up the flooring directly from the vendor prior to installation - Sedaris installation crew were phenomenal-I give them 5 stars. They worked hard, were polite, and made sure everything was clean when they left. - We had one hiccup where the measurements that Sedaris did at our original consultation for our pricing fell short and didn't account for enough flooring-1 or 2 additional boxes of flooring were needed in the laundry area. In the end, Sedaris agreed to pay for the additional flooring and we paid for the additional labor. We felt that this was a fair arrangement and were happy with how that issue was resolved. - After the installation and final payments, we had a question about cleaning some paint stains in the floor (done by separate vendor) and Paul was prompt in giving some helpful tips-I appreciated his helpfulness even after our official business was over. Despite some of the communication challenges with scheduling and billing, if we were to get our floors done again, we'd hire Sedaris. We love our floors.
