Hubby and I went to the new Firehouse Subs on Saturday. We had a good meal, it was nice to have some time to ourselves. I don't usually eat subs, it's been a long, long time since I've had one. Yesterday I took my daughter there for lunch. I ordered a FRESH veggie sub, no condiments, everything fresh, nothing sauteed. They had to make that sub 4 times. It's hard to understand how that could happen, right? It is for me too. I called Firehouse Subs corporate office and spoke with a really cool gal that promised to get my info to the owner of the sub shop. She was very apologetic and upset about this. The owner called me and apologized, but, he kind of freaked out that I would tell everyone that his employees need training. He admits they need training. He was embarrassed about what he saw on the video of our visit. Especially since I was sitting there for 30 minutes waiting for a veggie sub to be made correctly. I didn't even say anything at the time or even get upset. I'm not upset at all about this. I'm disappointed that a new place opened up and I visited and I cannot understand how training can go so wrong. I'm irritated at the cashier for coming over and checking the receipt to make sure she didn't do anything wrong. I know this because she said it. Over and over again. I'm irritated that the manager that said this phrase to me: We've only been open for 15 days. You need to cut us some slack. He said that as he took my third sub back to make it correctly himself. I didn't do anything to have him say that. It was all him. All I said to him was that it was wrong again and that I was hungry. I did give props to the one person there that seemed to really care about how both of our subs were. Twice. She should be management. I told corporate and the owner that. My daughter doesn't get to go anywhere that often, it was a good idea to get something to eat while out doing errands for her. She ordered a veggie sub too. I was excited to go to lunch with her. So my grandfather LOVES this place and I called at 11:05 because I have to drive 30 minutes to Mechanicsville and wanted my grandfather to enjoy his lunch. Manager jr answers the phone and interrupted me with every other word that came out my mouth to order this hot ham and cheese With sautéd onions I repeated thats all I want on it several times. I let the attitude go as they had just opened and figured maybe he was just tired. Whatever. I drive 30 minutes to find that this sub has tomatoes,mayo, lettuce and no onions. Mind you he's allergic to mayo...So I call and asked for the manager and jr says in a conceded, mocking tone "I am the manager how can I help you" so I let him have it. Told him he was rude and got my order wrong because he wouldn't let me talk and I'd like this fixed he continued to talk over me saying he didn't have an attitude instead of trying to fix the situation. The customer service here by the employees are great. However, the General Manager Kelly needs training on customer service. I am not sure how she is a leader with poor customer service . I order from Firehouse on Group hub frequently. I have had orders not filled correct but have let it slide. Today my order was not satisfied to me and I called and asked for the manager. Kelly came on the line and I began to explain my concerns with my order. After explaining she rudely asked me "What do you want me to do " ? I asked was this particular store a franchise and she said yes. Which is why I figured she was very rude. I told her I would be returning my food for a refund and NEVER order from there again. I like firehouse. Always have but this location continues to be the worst. I have tried this location several times since it opened and I was rooting for it to succeed. Unfortunately every time I go back I'm severely disappointed. Examples: meatball sub with the bread hard plastic twist tie in the sub. I've been to a firehouse subs off the beltway and the subs are piping hot and delicious. But when I got mine from the Waldorf location I was confused on whether we ordered a cold sub. It was luke warm and average. I know they are new, but I don't get why places rush to open only to provide subpar quality. I won't be back for a while until they work out the kinks. read more

Very friendly staff, quick food, everything is hot, and made to order. My only complaint is the staff needs a bit more training. If I place an online order, I figure it should be ready at the time it says. Instead, I got there a few minutes after the proposed time the order would be ready, and I STILL had to wait 15/20 mins. I'm a very thorough and brutal reviewer, check my track record. When I came here it was my first time, I reviewed the menu then ordered, and left satisfied with the customer service experience. I love their subs. Used to go to one in VA all the time. Tried this one a couple times and they're good. Service was good too. Prices are a lil high to me but that's in comparison to these cheaper value meals at other places. These subs are def better tasting than a cheap burger meal so sometimes you just gotta do it.
