I've been looking for a new sandwich place to go to for a while, namely one that was near where I live, and I finally decided to give this place a chance. I'm glad I did and stopped overlooking it sooner, because these subs are good. It may not be in the most desirable area in town, but the store was remarkably clean and the employees were very friendly. They even allowed me to bring my sweet baby Muffin (shih tzu) inside while in her carriage. It's my first time in any Firehouse Subs, so I wasn't entirely sure what I would like. I went with The Engineer because the calorie count (conveniently plastered along the menu) was right where I wanted it, and I love most turkey subs in general. Plus, I thought the addition of mushrooms was pretty unique. I got the pickle on the side and a confetti cookie that I will eat later. (I'll let you know how it is--but anything with sprinkles will be a winner). I was pretty impressed with the quality of the sub. The meat was hot and tender, mixing well with the cheese, and the mushrooms did give it a good unique taste and texture profile like I knew it would. Meanwhile, the veggies in the sub were cool and crisp, making the whole sandwich a satisfying yet refreshing meal. I like how they ask if I would like to round up for the firemen. I realize Firehouse Subs were founded by firemen and they give back, so I said, "Why not?" since it's only rounding out to the nearest dollar. Although I think The Engineer will be my favorite and my usual to get, I'll be sure to try others on my repeat trips. read more

I walk in like normal and stand at the online pickup area. I watch as all the food gets made for other people, but no worker acknowledges me. On top of that, they make me wait 30 minutes before finally asking for my name, only to point me to a completely different pickup area, even though I was in the correct spot the whole time. Honey, there is nothing hot about this sub. The meat is supposedly steamed as what they explained to me that it's supposed to go in the oven and get toasted. It was barely warm. I'm so confused and underwhelmed for a tiny drink a bag of $.99 chips and a medium size sub for nearly $15. I know you freaking line and no I will not be back. It was tasteless flavorless cold, and nowhere near a fire.. also burned away half my lunch break waiting on a sandwich to be made which shouldn't take more than a minute or two. Came in and no one at the counter taking orders. Waited over 5 mins to order and have spent over 30 mins waiting for one medium size sub on my lunch break and no one was in here. Not sure how it can take almost my entire hr long lunch break to get a sub. Will not visit this location again, clearly short staffed and no care for customer service whatsoever. This is the second time they didn't put my pickle on the side in the bag. It's very disappointing that now I need to check my bag when I specifically said I wanted a pickled on the side. I love Firehouse. But this location has gotten worse. I ordered my food at 12:10 according to my receipt. It's now 12:31 and I still don't have my food. Way understaffed. Should never ever take this long. Problem is they take all these online orders and don't focus on customers in the store. Should never take more than 20 minutes to get a sandwich. Things are looking up for this location! I've had some bad experiences in the past and stopped coming for a while. Glad I gave them another chance as my recent visits have been great. I only give this firehouse subs 3 stars because of how good their sandwiches are. You walk in and it doesn't look that appealing to the eye. The wait is also always way too long! I tried ordering via grub hub to hopefully speed up the process, but it takes just as long and they leave it sitting there in the back until I lose my patience and have to go ask for it. One time I literally waited my whole lunch break for a sandwich! Honestly though , it is well worth the wait because it's just so good! I'm not necessarily a sub connoisseur by any means, but I do like certain toppings. Growing up in the subway generation has certainly tainted my expectation of how a sub shop should function. As far as my sandwiches were... they were fair to good... I had one of my sandwiches with double meat, and it looked like it was normal meat. Could not tell that it was doubled or not. What was my biggest problem with going into this location... This is only my 3rd time coming into this location. I have been going to Firehouse Subs for the last few years because of its ties to the local community and its love for the men in women in uniform. (Fire, Police, and Military) This was the first location that I went to that did not honor the Military. I have probably eaten at a dozen different Firehouse subs over the years. As a retiree, I enjoy giving companies my money that show that little bit of love to the members of our services... It was very surprising to hear that this Firehouse does not honor that. When I was talking with the lady at the register, she seemed to be limited with her English and was not able to answer questions with logic or confidence. For these reasons, I will not be coming back to this location. The food is ok. But, I will drive to another location that has better service and shows respect to all uniforms. read more

Firehouse subs is a great place to get different hot subs. My personal favorite is the roast beef and melted cheddar sub. This is pretty much why I come to Firehouse subs, it is hard to resist. They have a good selection of other hot subs, although it is hard for me to order anything but the roast beef and cheddar. They also have several chopped salads which my wife enjoys. They also have a kids menu which includes a drink, treat and a fireman's hat, all for a fairly affordable price (under $5 i believe). They make sandwiches fairly quick and I have never had a problem with order accuracy on what is delivered. The serving staff are nice enough as well. On my last visit they were somewhat forgetful on an item which accompanies the kids meal - mainly the fire hat. The server who brought out the food informed me that I was supposed to get this from the person taking orders and payment however she promptly brought this to our table after we complained of not receiving it. read more

Firehouse Subs is a step above Quiznos and Subway but a step below any actual sit-down sub shop (RE: Lenny's) Their sandwiches are standard fare: ham and turkey, meatball, corned beef and pastrami, tuna, etc... All sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, white onion, mayo and spicy mustard, as well as a pickle. White or wheat bread are their standards. A medium combo with chips and a drink will run you just under $10. Sandwiches don't come out especially fast and I do recommend calling ahead if you're in a hurry. I really like their hot sauce bar. Today was my first firehouse sub experience it most likely will be my last. I just wasn't impressed with Firehouse. I found this location to have a weird setup and everything was all over the place. You order in the corner and when you go to get your drink you basically have to turn around and walk directly back into the line you were just in to get your drink. It can get very cluttered especially if multiple people are getting refills. I ordered the "hook n ladder" sub, which I'm assuming is their "specialty" sandwich. It's the first thing on the menu, its got a firefighter theme, and well, lets just say I'm assuming this is their specialty sandwich. You get the point... I ordered that along with a medium combo for just over nine dollars. The medium drink was huge. Anywhere else it would be a large. So when I got my cup and saw how big it was, I was excited for my sub hoping it would be rather large. It took about 5 minutes for them to make my sub, which I found a little long to toast some bread and put some meat together but oh well. Finally my sub came out and it was a lot smaller than I imagined. I don't know if I got unlucky or that's just how small their subs are, but it made a foot long from Subway look big and that's not saying much. My next thought is that maybe they are going for quality over quantity. Nope. It was warm at best. My sub had no flavor and was one of the most plain tasting subs I have ever had. Zombies for staff, could barely understand cashier, felt like a/c was broken in the store, floors were dirty, almost all drinks were out in the machine (I had to let them know, so no staff is checking this). When I'm in the mood for a sandwich this is my favorite spot. My favorite sub is the hot turkey sub fully involved. They have a secret ingredient that holds them apart from all other sub shops. The secret is the fire house hot sauce. It's on the wall with all the other hot sauces. It is so good. It's hot but not to hot. It is also sweet.
