Went in for a free hook and ladder deal through T Mobile. Had to buy something, anything, in order to get the medium sandwich. They are located on Gratiot avenue just north of 696 and the famous National Coney. Not a lot of parking, but ample of they're not swamped it looks as if they don't do any dine in here, it was pretty desolate and table-less. Had to travel to Detroit for 23 hours, was starving after not eating all day, so I sought this place out for a sandwich and bag of chips. The interior was clean, the two female staffers were pleasant for the most part. The sandwich was made hot and fresh and was eaten at my Detroit HQ. The sandwich was delicious and hit the spot. You really can't go wrong here, it's a hot sub with lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise. The service here has always been good. I just don't understand why every time I come here, they don't put everything I ask for on my sub. Even when I order in person or through the app they never add my two add on items to my sub. All I ask for as an add on is banana peppers and olives. I get home and it's never on there. If you don't have it in stock then tell me. read more

I'm sorry I didn't post a pic, charge it to my head. I tried Firehouse subs because Uber eats had a special which was BOGO, I bought the meatball sub and the Hook and Ladder. Well they dropped the ball with I ordered a combo with a 20oz. Bottle coke and chips, the young lady arrived with a 16oz fountain soda and no chips, I didn't get what I paid for but Uber eats gave me a credit, I noticed the next day they took $5 away, I'm going to assume that was the tip. Anywho, the Meatball sub was great, my bread was fresh and soft, it was warm but I expected that because the young lady was coming from Roseville to Detroit, The cheese was melted, it wasn't hard,the sauce was even good, I have no complaints! Next day I had the Hook and Ladder, something on the sandwich was sweet, I couldn't figure it out, I believe it was the mayo. I personally believe some foods shouldn't be sweet, a sandwich is on my list, so that turned me off a little, but sandwich was well put together with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles. It wasn't messy, actually it's a good size sandwich, I love they you a recycle container the sandwich came in. It was just OK to me. Those are only two I tried, there's other sandwiches they make might be more appealing but if I go again, Hook and Ladder isn't my choice. This review is for the cleanliness of the store. It was utterly gross!! Not one table in the place was clean. So we ate at the least dirty table. There was food all over the floor under the tables that were not clean and Trash can were full. I am pretty sure the bathroom hadn't been clean all day. I went in there Friday and none of the three employees working were wearing masks. I talked to the manager on the phone and he told me that they all had "medical conditions". How convenient. If that is indeed the case i think they need to put on the front door that this is a non mask wearing establishment so that the customer can be forewarned. read more

I tried to compare the warren location to this one, and there's really no comparison. Roseville might have more customers, but the place is always very messy. Bread crumbs all over the place. I ordered a large hook and ladder and it had barely any meat on it, I later found out that they accidentally put medium size meat on it. Maybe will return if ever in area. read more

I was happy when I saw Firehouse subs move into the neighborhood so I had to try it! Upon walking in it was decorated nicely and clean. However that's when the experience here went downhill and quick! We stood behind one, yes one customer for five minutes before being able to actually order because the girl taking orders couldn't locate the buttons. Meanwhile there was at least 8 to 10 employees standing around looking clueless, doing what I have no idea aside from the one or two making food and one at the register. Yes one at the register, they have two. Upon finally ordering it took the girl at the register a minute to find one button again after asking who appeared to be the manager. Then we had to repeat what we wanted again, apparently she forgot what button she was looking for in the first place! From ordering to the food arriving was about ten minutes, we counted two orders placed after ours in those same ten minutes! Did I mention slow? Meanwhile the line started forming to the door. We watched as the man who appeared to be the manager sat at a table on a laptop, doing what I don't know but he would have fared better actually trying to get the orders expedited! Maybe helping at the register with those tricky buttons! Opening the second register? The same kids standing around, blank faced. The subs delivered were at best a few degrees above room temperature. We ordered the Smokehouse brisket and the signature Pork Thai. The brisket was edible I hardly noticed any bbq sauce, no taste of mayo or cheese for that matter. It was basically brisket on a bun, shredded brisket mind you and definitely not worth the money. The Pork Thai was bordering on gross! The Mrs only was able to eat a small half, maybe 4 bites of it before tapping out! I gave it a try and she was right! It had a horrible taste not to mention it was soaked in grease! I almost lost my brisket sub after a bite from the pork. Way, way too greasy and the taste was just horrible! Needless to say that sub was tossed on the way out. I wasn't impressed with the food at all, I was actually turned off by it. The staff was clueless and slow, obviously not trained enough if at all. Although the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The employees and the manager need lots and lots of training! And maybe a lesson on emptying the trash which was full to the brim when we tossed out the sub we didn't eat. Save your money....Our two combo meal subs, one regular and one large was over $20. I don't mind paying good money for good food but this wasn't it. I give this place a year at best before they're gone. I give it 2 stars for cleanliness and appearance, 1 star for service only because they were younger kids without training and a 0 on the food. read more

Although I am disappointed that they do not have their broccoli soup until the fall, I am very happy with the taste of their food thus far. Had their King's Hawaiian Pork & Slaw sandwich and it was pretty awesome! I was sold at King's Hawaiian bread...mmm, I love that stuff(almost as much as I love pretzel buns)! Pulled pork is hit and miss with places but, I figured the slaw would make up for any lost or off flavor....but, the 12-hour pit-smoked pulled pork did not disappoint and the Hawaiian coleslaw was super yummy as well. Firehouse subs are really good. They are my favorite subs, but ordering for a family of 4 gets pretty expensive. I like that they have limited time subs because I like trying new ones. I've tried the chicken dumpling soup and that was pretty good. The chili I wasn't that impressed with. I think I'd rather just have a larger sub than having a side. read more

I've been eating Firehouse subs for years. First in Florida and then when I moved to Michigan, I would go to Rochester to get my Firehouse fix. I was thrilled to see one open right in my area. Big let down. I ordered a grilled veggie sub. It was terrible. It had lettuce, tomato and mayo on it. It wasn't toasted at all. It had no grilled veggies at all. What a complete let down.
