For what it is, 5 stars. It's less expensive than Jersey Mike's and the staff were willing to accommodate my special needs. The subs are good and big and hot. They seem to get all the special requests, but the one thing they always seem to miss is that I always check "no pickle spear" but it always gets buried in there anyway somehow! Haha. Oh well. Better to have something extra than something missing. And there was a special BOGO day offer, so that was awesome. Customer service was terrible. Katie definitely needs training. We were redeeming our T-Mobile Tuesdays rewards. We couldn't find where to put the code in the app & add the correct item to actually show up with the rewards. It wasn't the normal way. We asked the 3 workers. And Katie with the reddish burgundy colored hair said she didn't know and she believed it was expired. Another worker said several others redeemed theirs today so she knew it WAS NOT expired. Told us it had to be through the app. She answered very short & rude. We figured it out. But when another race walked in, she greeted them & assisted them fully. Ok, not proud to admit this and don't know if this review is TMI, but after a night of drinking or partying, Firehouse Subs has become of my favorite hangover restaurants. This one specifically. The reasons are simple: 1) It's super easy to order food for everyone online in the app 2) I get points for each order, rewarding me with the occasional free sub (I'm saving up for the free catering platter, don't judge me) 3) The subs are big enough to save the other half for dinner, or a snack, later in the day. 4) Everyone is always down for a sub so there's minimal arguing about who wants to eat where. 5) It's pretty affordable and the service is always really quick This location is always consistent, friendly, and fast from my experiences. HOLY DELIGHTFUL TRANSITION, Batman!! Left my doctors office and felt hungry. Saw that there was a Fire House nearby. I downloaded the app to see if there was any deals or online ordering. Luckily there were both. I ordered my sandwich and was able to pay through the app. I arrived just under 10 minutes after and was greater by the friendly staff. I let the young man at the register know that I had ordered online. As soon as I gave my name another young guy came up saying, "I just wrapped this as you were walking in ". A good Steak and cheese is greasy and delicious but the bread must be able to hold all of the ingredients....including the grease. Long story short the bread used for my sub was already soggy when I picked up the sandwich I live 2 miles away and left my home not long after ordering. My kids love this place, and that's what they chose for lunch today. They like the Italian sub, but I can't get that in a kids meal, so I got a large and ask for it to be cut into three pieces so they could share. This was a bit mind-boggling for the person at the register. I got it and it was cut in half in one large box. I asked for three baskets so my kids could each eat their portion, and while they did give them to me they said they're not supposed to because of Covid. If they gave me three small boxes that would've been OK also. While we were eating directly across from the counter, the two girls behind the counter had an in-depth conversation about how terrible the management was an everything that was wrong with not only their store, but others in the chain. I really hate to do this, mostly because this is only the second negative review I have submitted on this platform. My boyfriend LOVES Firehouse (smokehouse cheddar brisket - No Mayo, haha) There is a location he typically goes to a few times a week closer to his office but today he asked if I would order online near our home and we could have lunch together! So, of course, I happily did. I was given a Promise Time of 11:45am. I sent him this info since he was scooping it on his way home. When he got there, he said there were about 35 people there (unsure of if it was all walk in's or also door dash/Uber eats, whatever. I placed the order at 11:35am. He did not leave until 10 past noon with our order. Of course, I feel horrible to have been the reason he didn't get to utilize his lunch time and get back to work promptly. He is a very busy man. I understand this time is busy and the lunch rush is crazy. If staffing is an issue, which many businesses are experiencing, that's understandable, but don't take on online orders, and take on walk in orders with zero apparent understanding of how to logistically and efficiently work that system. Especially if there are only two workers in the building, how stressful for them, and how do you expect to retain employees this way? If you use the word "Promise Time" I expect it to be within at least 5 minutes of that time because, I'll be honest, I'm not the most prompt; to the minute lady. Not to mention items from our order were missing :( As much as we love Firehouse, this complete lack of awareness of people's time (just give a realistic "promise time") may deter us from returning. I have been a regular at firehouse subs for almost since their inception. I stood first in line at the counter for 10 minutes here and was never even acknowledged. I muttered some expletives that were quite audible and left. This is a horrible place. I will come back in about a month and if it is not have been corrected, I will no longer patronize Firehouse. There were a few people in there, but not really that many maybe 10 or 12, and half were already sitting at a table eating. Ive been to this specific location (edwards mill & Ed drive) before. This was the worst experience so far. I walk in and a postal service worker is sleeping, laying on a table asleep, by the door. There is usually a "welcome to firehouse" as a customer enters but not this time. Trash cans on either end of the restaurant are overflowing, and the floor was dirty and even sticky in places. the counter by the drink machine was filthy, items laying about randomly. There are 3 employees, eventually, and one is slowly fixing my order while the other 2 casually converse, meanwhile I'm standing in filth. When I got my order, the bag had grease and sauce on it. The service was good. The sub was totally fine, but I thought that it was kind of pricey. I don't eat much meat, so I just had a sub with veggies & cheese. It was tasty for a fast food sandwich, but paying $6.71 for it seemed a bit high. I would have preferred the bread to be toasted a bit more. I doubt that I will be hurrying back, but if I am in the area & need a quick bite to eat, I may return. Ordered online once and that was easy. They have one of those big soda dispensers that has like 30 choices for beverages. Portions are large for sandwiches and drinks. The customer service here was unbelievable. That alone deserves five stars and the food sends this over the top! I believe the manager or owner took my order. I asked for a veggie sandwich since I don't eat meat and he went into detail of what would be on the sandwich so I could customize it. I went with his suggestion (adding mushrooms, three types of cheese) and I'm glad I did. He came by to ask how I liked it twice and even remembered my name. I don't think this is rare - he seemed to know everyone who came in and had a nice conversation with each person. This location does a great job of making sure the customer is satisfied. This place is great! I've now been here over ten times and the food has been great, service top notch, and the place has always been super clean! Everyone who works here seems so friendly. I've always gotten the turkey and cranberry which is every bit as fabulous as it sounds. My fiancé usually gets the hook and ladder although he's gotten the Italian before. Both were really tasty. They've got a pretty extensive menu for a sub place, hot and cold subs and salads. They've got an under 500 calorie section, too, for both their salads and sandwiches so you can be conscientious of your eating and still get some delicious food. Definitely a convenient favorite. I've not eaten at other Firehouse Sub locations, so I can't compare this one to others, but this location gets 5/5 stars! Ps the owner is the friendliest person on the planet! read more
