I came here and ordered a sub and chips and when I went to pick my bag of chips I found out that the bag was expired by 6 months. I told the manager, Richard, just to make him aware. I just said "hey sir just thought you should know but this bags expired I don't know if any others are" and he just said "okay". Then I went to the restroom and there was no paper towel so I was passing by him and said "just want to let you know the paper towels out in the bathroom too" and he gave me attitude and was being very rude and unprofessional to me. I wouldn't have to bring these things up if the franchisee was competent. No need to get mad at the guy nicely pointing some things out that should be addressed on a day as slow as it was there. I work in Firehouse subs and have been there for 8 months. I had never tried the subs because I never found interest in trying them. But last month, I decided to try them and to my surprise they were actually really good. I got the steak and cheese and I was happy with my decision. The steak is really juicy and the break is really soft. I really enjoyed it and could see why we get busy. Ever since that day, I have been getting it and it always comes out good. I definitely recommend coming in and trying our steak and cheese if you want a good sub. I think coming in during the afternoon like at 2 or 3 is the best time. Always a great experience for lunch when I go here! Sandwiches are really good, even with all my modifications they get it right. The service is top notch, they warmly greet customers. The dining room is always really clean too, which is hard to do when it's busy! Drink area is clean too, I'm super picky about that. This one is probably the worst when it comes to the workers being respectful and knowing how to communicate and be just decent. Went in there to order my lunch , asked if they had military or veteran discount since I am i am a USMC vet. Casheir looked at me like I was crazy. ( maybe because I'm a 23yr old female who is decent looking ). not an old MALE vet. lol but anyways she tries to say that I can only order one sub. with my discount - I know this is wrong because like I said prior - I've been to firehouse subs quite a lot. So the manager that was right next to her said it was okay. so I continued to order my lunch. this lady kept rushing me and cutting me off while I was ordering. I ignored it and held my bearing. but holy crap .... Incredible sandwiches every time we go and it doesn't matter where the firehouse is. Illinois or Naples Florida it's consistent.

If I ask for no mayonnaise on my sandwiches on the phone and then again confirm in person that there is no mayonnaise in person while picking up my order... there should be no mayonnaise on my sandwiches. All three were absolutely smothered in it. It takes more to add a condiment than to not put it on at all. read more

Firehouse is known for great subs and these guys do not disappoint. We order at least once a week and the sandwiches are always excellent. Once, and only once we got a sandwich that was a bit soggy on the bottom. My husband offhandedly mentioned it the next time we were in and it was replaced. With the pandemic and a recession, both quality and price have suffered at some of our local businesses, and it's nice to know that there are people willing to go above and beyond. Awesome looking place, first time at a Firehouse Sub, fireman theme with a Sarasota tube-dude greeting you at the counter--- the Tube-dude & his tube-dog was the most charismatic part of the staff that didn't even greet us--- dead eyed & they seemed like life was the worst, all 3 of the kids behind the counter were terrible... our subs were drenched in the vinaigrette or whatever they hose it down in so the bread was soggy, the 'toasted sub' thing was lost on us but the filling was good even tho they weren't remotely hot. I was thinking I was getting a cold sub until I read they were toasted so I didn't mind eating a cold sub. I would go back but if I see one of the 3 kids behind the counter that were there the morning of 8/15/17 I would turn around & walk right back out go next door to get a publix sub. read more

Naples, Florida: We only received half of our order as the person taking the order made a mistake and only put a ticket in for one sub, Okay, I understand, people make mistakes, but why did I have to wait while other orders after ours were being filled, especially since the other sub was getting cold? The Italian sub was not very good - the meat was warm (although not heated), there was too much mayo and vinaigrette, making the bread soggy and inedible. It was mushy and not very tasty it is suppose to be toasted and It was soggy. Nothing fresh here. The staff was chit chatting taking there time saying how tired they were and didn't feel like being there. I had to ask them to move quicker just to get my sub done. I have a wife 13 years into Alzheimers. We have a live in caregiver for her because she can no longer walk or talk and is in a wheelchair. She decided to take my wife for a nice lunch and chose Firehouse Subs. The order taker who she things was a manager and an employee were very rude to them when asking for some mayonaise and than later a cup for my wife to drink out of. Caregiver felt they did not want my wife there in the wheelchair because she sits slumped forward and not a pretty sight, or because she was black.
