I love Firehouse subs, and the Merritt Island shop, while a little worn still makes a great sandwich. However the small girl that works the register is so impolite that I often hesitate to eat there. I have been there, and ordered from here no less than 10 times and she has never greeted me, even with a "may I help you", "thank you", or "here ya go'. Surely a manager/supervisor has witnessed her lack of common customer service approach. They aren't doing her or the business any favors. I thought online ordering would make this a quick and painless process! Nope! Like most all working folk, I have limited time on my lunch break. So I try and order ahead so I can have a longer lunch break without having to wait for a food order. Smh, not here. I understand lunch hour is busy for any/all local establishments. I ordered online at 12:30. Was told 12:45 pickup time. Arrived at 12:45. Was told it's next order up. I didn't get my food until 1:10. 40 minutes for a simple footlong sandwich. Good food. Simply put, my 10-yr old described the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket as "amazing" when they came by to check on us. As a man who owns a pair of fireman boots, I was excited to try this restaurant as I thought I might get the chance to live out my childhood dreams.. I was a bit disappointed to find out that they are in no way associated with giving out free fire truck rides. Takes quite a while from the time you order until you receive your sandwich, even when it is not busy. Don't expect a deli type of sub or an authentic Italian. The Italian comes hot and with mayo and mustard on it - not vinegar and oil. They're house "hot" sauce is tasty and definitely dresses up the otherwise just good sub. read more

Last time I was here they made my sub incorrectly...and when I told them it was wrong they replied "Well what do you want me to do?" A manager came out and took care of it. Well we decided to try here again. We only ordered 3 subs and were charged for 4. The cashier with died blue ends on her hair didn't even know how to return the money and when asking for help from a coworker, she kind of showed a bad attitude. The entire time this is happening, I can hear the staff talking about their personal issues, using abbreviated bad language, and listening to explicit rap music. Not very impressed with their "professionalism". Didn't get any names but there was a girl with died blue hair on the end and a man with long blonde hair. Sorry to say, the fact that my sandwich was ok was overshadowed by the carelessness of their employee mask policy. I visited today, and since this is only the third time in 7 months I have not prepared my own food, the bar is set pretty high. The young lady who took my order and prepared my sandwich, was masked. However, the 2 men in the kitchen area where food is prepared, were not. They did put their masks up when they came in the dining room. The third young man, working the counter, made no attempt to even pretend to wear a mask. I am hopeful that management will realize that there are people who occasionally cannot eat at home, expect better precautions to be taken. Won't be back!!!! read more

Can't complain. Really good for a chain/franchised restaurant. The staff always seem happy and are helpful. I love pretty much all of their specialty subs, but the Engineer is my fav. Add warm multi-grain bread to your sub and it's great. Very filling. Obviously this isn't a fancy restaurant/eatery but if you are looking for quick yummy food on the go, you won't be disappointed. I've been here twice now and I'm honestly amazed at how slow this place is. Yeah the subs and staff is good, but my first time coming it took 20 minutes for 2 subs for my boyfriend and I. It was moderately busy, nothing crazy. I've seen other Firehouses be much busier and never have such a long wait. And you could see the staff freaking out yelling when they messed up.. Made me worried with what might be messed up with my sub. Then we came here again and there were 3 other people in the building, and 2 already had food, but it still took 10 minutes for 2 subs. They kid who brought it to us said sorry for the wait at least, but I don't see why there was a wait when there were 4 people standing around talking about the schedule.. While the store was incredibly busy, it could have run in a much smoother fashion. The lady behind the register spent more time arguing with the customers about how THEY were ordering incorrectly, rather than just giving them what they wanted. She took her sweet sweet time with each order and both myself and my coworker had to repeat what we wanted numerous times. She was very cold and had to be right about the way things were to be done. She did this not only with us, but also several customers behind us. When a customer brought their food up to be remade as it was wrong, she stopped taking our order to find out who messed up that order instead of letting the employee who was helping the customer handle it. By the time she finished, the line was out the door. Very off putting for my first, and likely only time in this store. Such a shame to because the food was quite good.
