Our favorite location! They always remember us and are so friendly when we come in. Jessica makes me smile every time I come in and is such a sweet soul. Amazing customer service and fresh, fast, quality sandwiches.

New York Steamer

Flavor is great. Problem is it is mostly bread anymore. Very little meat. I just ordered a New York steamer and it's more bread than anything. The ladies were very nice however, they were incredibly slow. This could've been due to it being lunchtime however there weren't a lot of people in the store. The restaurant was clean and neat. Not sure if I'll come back. Jersey Mike's still puts meat on their sandwiches. Better quality and better value, might be a better option

A large engineer sub

I've worked in the area for four years now, driven past it almost daily, and never walked inside. The main reason, I have to admit, is that the location is somewhat inaccessible and anonymous from inside the shopping area. Having that said, I am happy I went inside. Firehouse Subs has a unique positioning in the market, differentiating itself from the two major competitors by focusing on more meat heavy sandwiches. The price point, unfortunately, is positioned thereafter. Having that said, a chain such as this should really be judged by the location and service provided as that's the only way they can differentiate themselves in the area. I went during the busy lunch hour. The place was packed to the brim with every table being occupied. This is good as it gives a good opportunity to judge whether quality goes down with added workload. I ordered a large Engineer Sub with all the standard fixings. It did take about 5 minutes for it to come out, during which time I took the opportunity to scout for a seat. It is true what previous reviewers have said that cleaning the tables isn't exactly their #1 priority. Somehow that is understandable during lunch hour. The sandwich was well prepared, nicely cut, and not sloppy at all. It tasted fresh and they brought it to the table for me, with a smile. Having that said. Location is difficult, parking is somewhat inaccessible, service is good, they are friendly and helpful, they smiled at me, I walked away full, and I did have a tasty lunch.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

Shrimp & Sausage Boil: A stew of shrimp, sausage, and corn. The ingredients were of very good quality; the shrimp were firm and fresh, and there were over a dozen in one serving. The sausage had a rich smoky flavor, and the corn was sweet and juicy. The seasoning was basic garlic butter, with black pepper to remove any fishy smell and enhance the aroma, resulting in a subtle creamy flavor overall. Mashed Potatoes with Gravy: The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy with a distinct buttery aroma. Unfortunately, the gravy was a bit too salty. Mixed Vegetables: Purely boiled vegetables, completely unseasoned, too bland. I used them to dip the mashed potatoes, which made it absolutely better. Fried Chicken Tender: Scalding hot. Although the crisp wasn't crispy enough, it was still very aromatic.

Let's start with the stars: * Hot Pastrami Sandwich (10/10) - This is exactly what a pastrami sandwich should be. Thick-cut, fresh, perfectly seasoned, incredibly moist, and piled high. Every bite was packed with flavor without feeling heavy. * Meatball Sandwich (10/10) - This completely caught me off guard. The meatballs were tender and flavorful, the sauce was outstanding, and everything came together perfectly. One of those sandwiches that immediately makes you start planning your next visit. * Potato Salad (10/10) - I have genuinely never had potato salad like this before. It's difficult to even describe because it doesn't compare to the typical deli or barbecue versions most people know. All I know is I'll be grabbing another side before I leave town. And then there was the surprise of the day: * Cowtown Pizza Slice (10/10) - We originally got this to go after seeing pizza after pizza come out of the kitchen and deciding we had to know what the hype was about. The slice was HUGE, the crust was fantastic, and the flavor was incredible. Honestly, it might be the best pizza I've had to date. Even after an already amazing meal, this completely held its own. Beyond the food, Milwaukee Delicatessen Company has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Great sandwiches, great beer, historic surroundings, and the feeling that you've stumbled upon a local favorite that's been doing things right for a long time. If you're a sandwich person, this place is non-negotiable.
