Overall my experience at this Firehouse Subs shop was very good. It was full of customers eating-in and others coming in to order. It appeared to be far better than their average review score showed. I really came in for a deal from T-Mobile on a BOGO but I couldn't get the app to work. That's no hit on the shop, but Firehouse as a company needs to fix the problems with their app. I missed out on the deal unfortunately. I will say the manager and staff were very courteous in answering questions, in assisting a customer who was having issues with the Firehouse app - that part was impressive. I chose to get a medium Philly steak and cheese sandwich. It was good but I will say it had something missing. The green peppers were pretty strong and dominated the taste, but it could have used a grilled onion with mushrooms combo as many other outlets do instead of charging grilled mushrooms to the customer as an add on. I also added banana peppers to the sandwich at home, which was a good enhancement. But the sandwich was made right and in and of itself does not deserve a reduction of an extra star. I would encourage the company to spruce up the Philly S&C sometime in the future. As for the BOGO that did succeed, it was a solid turkey breast and ham deli sub (hook & ladder) with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Great looking and tasting sandwich, BUT!! Unfortunately pickles were not included with the sandwiches. I saw from other reviews that this was an issue with their orders too. It is something this Firehouse shop should correct. Upon entry, the shop is rather narrow which general red tables and seating on the left side. It can fill quickly but the space is more narrow and tight than I like but the narrowness of space prevents it. The counter area is long and overall pretty well kept even during the busy lunch hour. I appreciate the store manager for taking time to chat with me. His enthusiasm and care for the customer and crew were quite apparent. I think this shop will trend upward in the days ahead. I never had problem with this location but today, I ordered the firehouse hero with green pepper and cucumber . The sandwich is cold ( supposed to be one of the specialty hot sub) with no cucumber and green pepper and it's dry too with minimal dressing, mayonnaise and vegetable. It's just terrible!! I pick up my food and been standing on the pick up area for more than 5 minutes with no customer. One of the employee is making the sandwich and the other employee which is a lady just messing around with the other employee. I really have no idea how this place has less than 3 stars. The food is so amazing and fresh. Really good sizes and portions of ingredients. The staff was so nice, the place was clean, but the sandwich itself? Not that big of a fan the combo of soft bread, heated up deli meats and cold veggies. It just didn't work for me. Now, to preface, I am a sandwich snob. No doubt. I've eaten many a sub in my hey day and this one, not memorable. One of the worst firehouse experiences I've had. I ordered my food and arrived at the firehouse five minutes after it was ready to be picked up. There had been a 50% off coupon for the entire week after 6 PM. The place was extremely packed in fact when I got there, the door was open and there was about four or five people standing outside. The place was packed to the brim on the inside. I walked inside, pushing past the people to be hit in the face with the smell of something burning. I didn't see my order So I asked the rep if they had my order and how long it would be. he told me about 20 minutes because of the people ahead of me inside the house before they told me they didn't have the meat for my sub. I purchased two subs the second sub I added bacon to one, and it did not have any bacon on it. I have contacted firehouse support about the experience. They directed it toward the restaurant's manager, and I have yet to hear back. Today I scheduled a take out, and when I arrived on time (for my curbside pick up) I had to go inside and when I said I was there, I was told my order was "coming up". About 30 mins after my order was supposed to be ready, it was finally ready. When I ordered in the app, it told me my pick up time was available, but having to wait for after my pick up time was horrible. To make things worse, even though I told two people I was there, my sandwich was made and put on the take out area and not curb side pick up. I've been to Firehouse Subs restaurants all over the country and this is by fare the worst one. Staff is rude, my sandwich was soggy and not nearly the quality I've had at literally every other Firehouse Subs. The restaurant was filthy, bathrooms were filthy, there was water all over the floor by the drink machine, soda machine only gave watered down drinks or was out of popular flavors. Staff continued to joke and yell at each other while eating and drinking in front of customers. It was like being on an unruly school bus with screaming teenagers. When we asked if we could have the pickles they left off of our sandwich we were accused of trying to steal extra pickles. Other customers complained about food and were yelled at by staff. Unbelievable. Avoid this place. Owner and corporate need to get this place in shape or close it. Shameful representation of a good brand. read more
