Had a sandwich for lunch got deathly sick. Called restaurant and an employee admitted the expired food was outdated two days.

I have always enjoyed Firehouse subs, they don't skimp on the meat and I don't really want a salad sandwich. Went in to place my order and the first thing I noticed was nobody said, "Welcome to Firehouse". I walked up to the counter and there were 7-8 girls (all the same size) running around working. There were 2 standing near the counter not doing anything. No one ever acknowledged me or asked if I wanted to place an order. After about 2 minutes of looking around and watching the 2 doing nothing, I walked out. Instead of spending $14 on one sandwich I went to Publix and got some turkey and bread. I love Firehouse Subs, but my all time favorite is the Steamer fully involved. That means all the good stuff is added to it, but I also add black olives to mine. read more

Just got home with my take out steak and cheese medium sub. I ordered it fully involved- just hold the mustard and no japalenos! After driving 25 miles home I opened up the bag and What a letdown! No napkins but ok. They always include napkins but I am at home now so... Next I open the box and notice no pickle- this after the lady asked me specifically if I wanted a pickle. I said YES. So I open the sandwich and see it is just the basic steak and cheese sub with the pepper sauce. Period. Where are the involved ingredients I ordered? I know this location has been out of lettuce for about a month but really no extras as per fully involved?! What a joke! My family has been eating at this location for over three years and never had a problem with our food. And to top it off I don't remember seeing if the employee making my sub had washed his hands- he had just come in the front door after me and went right behind the counter to make food! The people working at this place is rude, I don't recommend this place at all. I placed an order through the phone and I came pick it up, they told the ordered didn't go through. that they have phone issues! They were so rude when I asked them why they didn't call me back. after all don't order or come to this place. They are unprofessional. read more

The sandwich making employee lady was very rude. I didn't get a pickle and she wouldn't even look at me when i asked for one and was rude to my friend when her sandwich was wrong. very bitchy like no need you chose to work at firehouse and i just wanted what i payed for. makes me not want to go back. read more

Very poor. They have no other sides besides chips. They have no drink choices sodas are flat with no taste and there aren't much choices‍ ... didn't feel welcomed food was ok. The rating is not because of the flavor of food or the speed of service. Those were spot on. This is based on the price I paid for a to go order. 1- large Club on a Sub combo 1- medium Brisket combo By combo, this means bags of chips (2) and a fountain drinks (2). $23.60...... I'm just gonna leave that there for a second... Ok...$24 for 2 subs, chips and sodas. I realize every place is in business for profit, but please. I just took my wife out for a nice sit down dinner at a place the night before for $27 (before tip) When did a sub become $12!! I might have just looked for another lunch time venue.... read more

This location is very new to the area. The staff is very energetic and friendly. The subs are piled high with meat, you will usually have enough for 2 meals. Very clean dining area and a couple of outside tables when the weather is nice. read more

I enjoy a good Firehouse sub for lunch sometimes...but this location was very poorly planned out. The parking situation is atrocious I went the other day and my car was blocked in because a huge truck was blocking the area behind the building and cars were parked along the curb so I could not turn around. I usually get the Steak and Cheese it's ok the meat is pretty much always chewy which I hate but it's a nice change of pace from the fast food places around the area. The restaurant itself is very spacious and nice. Everything is clean, service is friendly and they make the orders pretty fast. I'll only go back on off hours but will not go at lunch any more I cannot stand not being able to park at an establishment. read more

Great Food but can't go here if you don't have the time. Unlike Subway or other faster fast food shops, This Firehouse Subs requires that you have some time to wait for food, 15-20 min ish, not enough time to also eat on a short lunch brake.. Too bad though, Subs are very good but I skip going here at least 4 times a months to go to faster local locations in town. read more

I go to Firehouse every so often. I usually go to the ones in Cumming/dawsonville. Being new to Gainesville, I figured I'd give this one a shot seeing as how I usually have a great experience. This time, however, it wasn't good. They are charging for medium combos but only giving out the small cups. When you walk over to get the lids it even says "med/combo" and "small" I ordered a medium combo, saw the cup was a different size and then also saw that the medium lid didn't fit and had to opt for a small. That's not just a lie but it's overcharging guests and giving them the wrong cup to save yourself some money. Beyond that, my order took longer than normal because the staff preferred to talk to each other instead of work. I was the only person in there without food. The other couple in there had already gotten and eaten their food by the time I walked in. None of them were friendly at all. This has by far been my worst experience with a firehouse subs. I will never return to this location. Anyone else who has had a bad experience, I urge you to try another location because this one does not represent the normal quality of food and service I receive. I'm very disappointed. read more

I used to love this place but not anymore. I took my family there yesterday December 23, 2017. We ordered and the total came to about 40.00. I proceed to pay and I have an older 100.00 bill. The guy told me sorry he couldn't take it because it wasn't a new one. Now tell me when did restaurants start deciding not to take American currency? His answer was his manager said they couldn't. My thing is if the bank gives you the bill then it's good. Or maybe he was just not smart enough to know how to check the bill. Needless to say we left and went to another restaurant and they had no problem taking my money. They held the bill up to the light and gave me change. Not rocket science! I will never go back there. It was really embarrassing for all of us. Answer to firehouse staff: not a matter of concern, just very misinformed person at the register. Why Would corporate personnel tell a cashier not to except older $100 bill's that's just stupid to give them a pen or teach them how to hold it up to the light it was very embarrassing and hey if you don't want my money I won't bother to go back read more

I would have to say I'm a regular here. Considering that I usually don't like sub sandwich restaurants (I find Subway and Jimmy Johns to be barf-worthy), Firehouse is an exception. I have tried almost all of their subs and they're always bursting with flavor! However, I do recommend just getting the sandwich and not the combo (chips and drink) with it because they upcharge you like crazy. Other than that, everything is fantastic! read more

This location is not the best I've been to. I work local and enjoy the Italian with Grilled Chicken Salad. Not once but twice I have had to reiterate to the employees what is actually supposed to be in the salad. So much so the last time that I had to have the salad remade. The only reason I continue to come to this location is because it is the only one close and I like the salad so much. Very frustrating as a customer to have to look/feel like you are making a big deal over a regular menu item. I'm generally easy going and very understanding, but this was too much for me. read more

Do NOT waste your time, or your money. Regardless of how tasty their food may or may not be (WHO KNOWS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T GET IT RIGHT TO BEGIN WITH), if you cannot get what you orered in the first place, why bother. I ordered a chicken salad. JUST a chicken salad. My husband gets it home to me, ON HIS WAY TO WORK, and there NO CHICKEN IN IT!!!! They forgot the chicken salad part of the chicken salad.I would not have said anything here, but this is the third time they have completely screwed up my food.
