To be honest, the Steak & Cheese I had was average - I didn't like that the meat was precooked, not cooked at the time of my order on a grill with onions like Charleys.. so it was lukewarm by the reheating..I couldn't even see or taste the provelone cheese and I was disappointed in the condiments which were soggy & sparse.. I couldn't see or taste the carmelized onions.. Also didn't see any green peppers! The steak was good & tastey but again, lukewarm from being cooked earlier... I didn't like how the filling was not melded with the bread because the lukewarm steak just got plopped into a cold too bready subway roll.. and I like my pickles inside my sub, not a spear outside.. so if you are a Steak & Cheese afficiando like me, you will be disappointed here... especially since Charleys is in the area now and excels at this, and costs less than Firehouse for what you get. read more

5 stars for taste, 4 stars overall...just because they aren't as quick as they used to be, and the app doesn't work 10% of the time. I love, love, love Firehouse as it superior to Subway and Quiznos in every way. Yes, you pay a little more, but it's worth it. Firehouse meats, breads and veggies seem to always be better quality than the competition. Now for the trick that will make those loyal to the competition flip...through the app, you can easily make your own combination...without having to point through the showcase of food stuffs - as Firehouse doesn't have one! As far as the pre-configured sandwich options, Firehouse is losing it's edge a bit with Subway's new menu options (as of Fall 2022). You could likely replicate the same exact sandwich at Firehouse, but it will cost you more. Firehouse also has one of the Coca-Cola based fountain drink machines so you can make hundreds of combinations of sodas, fruity juices, etc. Cookies, brownies OR chips...better cookies, but fewer options than Subway. Chip varieties vary, but about the same. Normally, I will pick up a Pepperoni Meatball sub. These are amazing and doesn't appear on the menu on the wall. Today, I am trying the limited-time Prime Rib Steak and let me tell you, it is all it's cracked up to be! What could be better? Staff churn here is pretty heavy...but that seems to be the norm in these post-COVID days. So, that means someone in the food assembly process tends to be a trainee. So, slower overall than the good old days, but if you're patient, you will be rewarded with an unbeatable sub! I will continue going back. Ordering through the app means you rarely have to wait...but even a wait isn't that long. Just consider that more is made fresh here than at the competition...so better quality and fresher ingredients make a happier human! We all came here after work because this sub shop is one of our favorite go-to places. I already knew what I was craving, so i ordered the large Firehouse asteak and Cheese sub for $15.00. Its huge and actually even bigger than a foot long sub. The tender steak was the best part, and it also had provolone cheese, onions, green bell peppers, mayonaise, and mustard. I think they added more mayonaise than mistard, but it was still as awesome as ever, and I managed to finish off 3/4 of it by the time we left. I wrapped up the rest to take home for later. It was a fun time except for the blaring television with ABC news which was annoying because we had a hard time talking with each other. Needed to grab something quick for a drive, so ordered a meal through GrubHub for pickup at this location. Very simple order, just a "the hook" medium sandwich. Pickup in the store was very easy, near the back of the store to the left hand side across from the cash registers. Got a very friendly goodbye from one of the employees as we were leaving the establishment. The sandwich we got was a medium sized "Hook" sandwich with turkey, lettuce, and mayo. A little too much mayo on it, but then again we didn't have a chance to specify in person to go easy on the mayo, after all. During lunch hour, I found they had around 6 employees in the store, with a customer crowd of 5 people and could not deliver a hot-sandwich for 25-minutes worth of waiting! Found the staff to be low class, no customer service, disorganized, slow, mouthy-sassy, more occupied with "jaw-jacking" and yelling at each other and squabbling than doing a sandwich business. Food was cold and lacking in standards of quality for the chain. By far the worst experience with this regional food chain. Rating: (*) Eeek! I loved the decor, with the dalmatian-spotted tables and the firemen outfits hanging all around. We ordered their Steak & Cheese hot sub from their 'Hot Specialty Subs' section with a side of Firehouse Chili. The sub itself was just okay, and interesting to dip it in in one of the hot sauces. The sandwiches here are phenomenal. Sure they cost more then Potbelly and Subway, but I would pay the extra $1.89 (I think a sandwich is around $6.89) any day! My Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar brisket was piled high and did not need any extra condiments, but added the cherry peppers and some "Alligator" style hot sauce. The meat was so tender. They actually have beef brisket that they use to make the sandwich, not weird, creepy, looking meat. I like their hot sauce bar. The numbers rate the hotness level. The "Alligator" sauce I had was a six-tangy and zesty, but not too hot. BP had the Engineer and we both loved it. I loved it a little too much since I wanted to eat more of it then offered :) Also, Firehouse has those cool soda machines with like 120 different soda combinations. Let me start off by saying that Firehouse Subs is my go-to sub place and I have always loved it and have never had a single complaint until now. I frequent this Firehouse Sub location once or twice a week. Each time I spend in excess of $30 to $40. The last several times, I have been in (maybe 5 or 6 times) The service has been terrible and has increasingly gotten worse. The last time I was in, the lady working behind the counter taking my order was clearly new to the role and seemed to have a limited knowledge of the English language. The communication was difficult, and she did not seem to understand what I was trying to order, I had to help her along and in the end when I got home, I found that they still got the order wrong. I felt sorry for her, as this is NOT her fault--this falls on management to ensure people are adequately trained. So I came in around 1230 and there must have been 20 people in line, I almost left but man am I glad I didn't. Not only did the staff do a quick and efficient job of getting all the orders made as quickly as possible but I had the best sub I've ever had. Pepperoni Pizza Meatball sub was awesome! I wasn't sure what to expect from this place as i've never heard of this restaurant before. I walked in here randomly as i was nearby and they had a decent crowd in there. The decor looks nice and interesting, firefighter painting and firefighter's suits and helmets on the wall hence the name Firehouse Subs. As a former firefighter, i have great respect for them. I stared at the menu for a few minutes and noticed there were zero veggie subs listed and not even a custom option. I asked the cashier if they had any veggie subs and he pointed me to a small sign on the counter with the list of ingredients for a veggie sub, tucked away and hidden. Considering that was the only choice, i went with that. They had a option of 8 inch and a 12 inch sandwich, i went with the 8 inch as i wasn't sure how good it was going to be, what a mistake! I should gone for the 12 inch! It was soooo goood! The sandwich was delicious and oozing with flavors! I paid and they gave me a table number and i had a seat, about 10 minutes later my sandwich arrived with a side of pickle. Maybe i was just hungry or that sandwich was so good that i ate it in 3 bites and was left wanting more! I might not be back considering there is only one veggie option, which i've already tried. I love the mission statement of Firehouse Subs, but I highly disappointed in their customer service and the quality of the place. The staff was unfriendly and rude. The cashier had his iPod headphones in a while, taking my order. The tables were unclean, and the floors were filthy. The condiments were not stocked, and all the bottle sauces were empty. After doing the survey online, I notice nothing was followed. The quality of the food was excellent and tasted pretty good. I've come here twice in my life. The last time was about 6 months ago and there was a sign on the door saying "sorry for the wait" because they were understaffed. Unreal wait times. Do not order here. You will wait 15-30 mins for a sub. Talked with the manager and she blamed corporate for not changing the app wait times to reflect actual wait times, and blamed staffing shortages to not being able to complete orders as scheduled. So my take away is, if I , a loyal customer want to continue eating from here, I have to place my order 30 mins ahead of time, in hopes that they actually didn't get to it earlier so it is cold for pickup. There were 10 other people waiting to pickup sandwiches. The staff was working hard, but me as a consumer should not have to suffer due to the inability to hire additional staff, not being able to work with their corporate office to have the app working accurately. Having never eaten at a Firehouse Subs, before, I asked the employee what he liked and recommended. At his recommendation, I then ordered a large Italian sub. It cost about $11. I ate less than half of it, and discarded the remainder. The taste wasn't so bad. It just felt like the sub had no nutrition. Just the cheapest ingredients. And it was loaded with sugar, which would have been unnecessary to improve taste, if wholesome ingredients had been used. But the worst part is the digestive disturbance that I suffered, within a matter of hours. (I will leave details to your imagination.) Before placing my order for the Italian sub, I asked whether the chili is homemade or does it come in a can. He answered that the chili is not homemade and that it comes in a "bag". Gross! My tentative conclusion, therefore, is that you cannot buy a nutritious meal, here. But if you are hungry, you can at least buy some "empty calories" to curb your appetite, long enough for you to eat somewhere better. It is junk food. read more

It was a large order and the 3 employees begin working on it. 4th employee is working on register. 15 - 20 minutes later they still haven't even begun working on my cold cut.
