I can't believe they have good reviews from anyone. Not sure what I expected, haven't found good bbq since moving to California from the southeast. This place is no different but it was actually so bad I have to write a review for this one. First of all, over $40 for 2 meals for 2 people? At bbq? Jesus. Second, the portion.....I got pulled pork, and got maybe 2 pieces of edible meat. The rest of it was disgusting inedible literal pieces of fat. No meat to be found. If you took it all into account however it was STILL a measly portion. I'm not sure where these people learned what bbq is but they must have never seen it before. Perhaps they read it from a cookbook that was missing half its pages. The skimpy pieces of meat I did get had no flavor. The mac and cheese is somehow also dry and the roll is store bought, so the sides do nothing to redeem the disgusting meat. They get the 1 star and not 0 because the bread pudding was good. Which brings me to my next complaint, their service is such that I was one of three people at ONE time to be up at the counter asking where the rest of my order was. We had 3 items, come on... staff just looked at me and wasn't very polite about their mistake either. They had maybe 4 families eating there at this time so not exactly booming. Moved to the area almost 2 years ago and Firehouse has been my absolute go-to when I eat out. I've had everything off the menu and never been disappointed; the pulled pork is moist, the brisket is tender, and the ribs are smoked to absolute perfection. The owner always seems to be there and has even dropped what he's doing on short-staffed days to hop over to the bar and pour beers. Plenty of ample parking, inside seating with sports on tv's with a/c on full blast, adorable picnic tables on the outside patio so you can enjoy the nice day. Couldn't decide what I wanted we started off with the fried pickle spears & went in for the QUE SAMPLER. Brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, link, chicken and tri tip... then you get choice of 3 sides I went with the potatoe salad, cole slaw and beans. They give you 3 kings Hawaiian rolls to create your own sandwich... omg they have multiple bbq sauces but I've never had a HOT (spicy) sauce as delicious as this place. Everything was perfect the restaurant was very clean, everyone was very friendly, servers went above and beyond to help us pack our left overs. Can't wait to be in this neck of the woods to enjoy some real great bbq. I ended up placing an order through yelp and it somehow got lost in the "ether." When I went to go pick it up I was told that the order did not come through. The staff was very friendly and quick to remedy the situation. It was not their fault that yelp's system dropped the ball. I ordered the tri tip sandwich and what can I say. The bread was toasted to perfection, the meat was moist, delicious, and really packed on there. My suggestions to mix the spicy bbq sauce and the sweet bbq sauce, it really elevates the sand which. Excellent customer service by the lady on the phone, and the food was made timely and nice and hot/ fresh. I'm super impressed with the quality of meat. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with spicy creamy corn and cole slaw with a side of fries. The meat was super tender and smoked just perfectly. The BBQ sauce is a little thick for my personal preference but has a great flavor to it. They also have spicy BBQ sauce if you're into that. It isn't that spicy but not quite as good as the original. The spicy corn is heavenly also! Definitely recommend checking out this spot if you're a bbq lover like I am. The Firehouse Que and Brew is located in the downtown area on Main in Fallbrook. You can't miss the big red firetruck in front. Parking lot is on the back and is a breeze. You order at the counter and pay then given a number stick and they bring the food out muy pronto. We split a brisket and two sides entree. Lots of food big portions. We got coleslaw and garlic fries (1 dollar upgrade for the garlic). They have ribs, pulled pork, tri tip, chicken and beef ribs. Good sides too..mac, fried okra, beans etc. You also get a dinner role. We went back and asked for two more, no charge....we were making mini sliders. The service is first cabin, we sat outside on the patio with our two fur babies. They checked on us numerous times and offered a bowl of water for the kids. They got soda, iced tea sweet or unsweetened, beer on tap and wine. They have peach cobbler alamode for dessert, had to have and it was good. We stopped in for dinner on our last night in Fallbrook. It was a Sunday evening when we stopped but the place wasn't very crowded which suited us just fine. This place is a place your order and then go sit down. I wasn't too hungry so I just had my husband order a meal and I added on a side and starter. He opted to go with the Brisket plate with potato salad and fried okra. I added on a side of macaroni and cheese and we opted for garlic fries and fried pickles too. Everything was really tasty. I would have to say my favorites were the garlic fries and fried pickles. My husband enjoyed the brisket and the fried okra. The staff was very friendly and even though it is not a traditional sit down restaurant they came and checked on us and even got us drink refills. I loved how the theme was firehouse. Honesty, integrity, safe! That is what emanates when walking in to Firehouse subs in Menifee. The owner, and the staff, they are highly trustworthy. They have found my father's wallet with cash, all IDs, bank cards, photos that are really old and vintage. The owner, Mike, made all the effort to make sure it gets returned to my father without compromising my father's identity. We never thought we would still get the wallet back, but thanks to Mike's effort, it made its way back to us. My father is so happy as he gets reunited with those photos that he treasure (more than 60 years old) Oh yeah too add to that, the subs are great especially the prime beef steak one.
