It was well worth the drive to find this place. As I drove past first I wondered about parking as it would appear that there is limited spaces outside the shop front but around the corner is a huge car park. If you park in the car part you can walk through their grocers / deli / shop which is stuffed full off fresh fruit and veg, sauces, pasta, herbs, cakes etc. Its quite a find really. After exiting the tardis that is their food store you then enter the cafe / bakery where you are greeted by a mountain of freshly based bread and cakes. I would certainly have given this place a 5 but the service was a little disorganized and the layout chaotic but otherwise excellent. The serve roasted brown coffee in big mugs - not these dainty styled tea cups that appear to be a favorite elsewhere. The donuts from here are well conceived and amongst the best I have had. They sell them in Avoca stores, Bear coffee in Blackrock and a few other places.

    Where bread is king signage

The place where bread is king. Well this would've been an easy five except for the slowish service in getting our coffee to us. We only chose americanos so it wasn't like we were waiting on fancy latte art. Having said that the staff are super nice! Incredible selection of bread, pastries and treats. They serve breakfasts too which sound amazing but didn't try anything off the breakfast menu on our first visit. I chose brioche with butter and jam. It was so fresh. Whatever the jam was, it was delicious. Also had a doughnut - chose salted caramel and honeycomb. I love their doughnuts. They're stuffed with fillings and you just know they're fresh. This place is most definitely a bread lovers heaven! Will be back v soon :)

This place is divine. Probably the best bakery I have found in 2013. The Firehouse bakery is joined to a whole food grocery store and upstairs you will find the Romany Stone restaurant which is a great lunch and dinner spot. Back to the bakery! The most divine pastries in Wicklow! I've tried the salted caramel macrons (I don't usually eat them but these ones are special), and a the praline pastry. It's one of those rare food experiences where you actually have to take a moment to close your eyes and take it all in. Simply delicious. Well worth a high recommendation.

Freshly baked in house, selection of breads.

It's hard to find a good bakery. If you can show me a better bakery at this moment in time I would be very surprised.

The fisherman's pie comes with potato or salad; we chose the potato. The fisherman's pie was fresh and tasted good. The carrot cake was not moist and soft like how I was used to, so I didn't particularly enjoy it. There are tables inside and outside. Since it was a beautiful day, we sat outside. Lots of locals and bicyclists stopped by the cafe. The staff were very friendly and the cafe is located next to a few shops, so definitely walk around the town as well if you have time.

Fresh raspberry jam! I've had my fair share of raspberry jam touring the magical emerald isle the last couple of weeks, and this one I can taste its high quality and no additional unnecessary additives or preservatives. Fresh scones and croissants and the baked potato was yum. I enjoyed my oat latte. Nice to see Ireland using Califia oat milk which is my favorite. Service was friendly and efficient. Ample seating indoors and outdoor seating to enjoy a beautiful garden. Free strong WiFi available too! Has modern English (American) music playing in the background which was nice. Would be nicer if they threw in some Irish traditional music ;). Will go down as one of my favorites or the favorite to visit in Ireland. I really enjoyed Ursa Minor in Ballycastle in Northern Ireland. Thanks a million for a lovely experience, Poppies!
