Had rib tips. The ribs were way overcooked. It came with fries which were a soggy mess. Overall, I would not go back.

Music is pretty loud in this small space. We decided on the 3 entrees for 69.00 with a glass of wine. We chose the pepper steak, smothered chicken, orange chicken, catfish and spaghetti, and the bbq catfish. Overall the food was ok., The bbq fish was a little to fishy and the smothered chicken was heavily salted. The star of our 6 dishes was the fried piece of catfish. The food came out quickly but nothing was piping hot. The server was OK as well, he did exactly what we expect of a server nothing more nothing less. I will say next time I would take the drive to the West side location, to me the food choices are better as well as the service.

Definitely book ahead. We all ordered the Grand Tasting, which lets you try three entrees plus a beverage. It was so much food but everything was delicious. I had the short rib, fried chicken, and catfish, each with different sides. The only thing I did not really care for was the dressing. They also had live entertainment, which made the vibe even better. Customer service was just okay, but I would still recommend it. I definitely want to try their other location since I have heard the menu is different.

Because it was a busy holiday we had a reservation made for 1:30 pm, and of course my friend group was running a little late but they were so friendly and accommodating. There was a 90 minute time limit to eat due to how busy the day was, but they were so kind to start the clock after everyone in our party showed up. Now for the good stuff! The food? Phenomenal! On the menu they have a special called the Grand Tasting where you can get 3 sampler entrees and a free glass of champagne or wine (red or white), all for $69. Everyone in my group decided to get this deal so we could all sample one another's food. I ordered the Tuffle Lobster Mac and Cheese, The Carolina Creamy Shrimp and Grits, and the Sicilian Sriracha Chicken Parmigiana. Everything was fantastic, so incredibly delicious. For the entrees to be samples they were a pretty decent size. The shrimp and grits and the Mac and cheese were absolutely perfect 10/10. I wish there was a location in the suburbs I would go here all the time! Huge thank you to the staff for their great hospitality. I almost forgot to mention that this place has live music, which definitely helps create an enjoyable vibe while you're dining. This place is a must try!!

So glad we stopped. We were having a hard time finding a place in the neighborhood that just had good food and a place to sit down. I'll be honest, this is not without the neighborhood charm but that's REAL Chicago. It takes me back though. It was nice to see folks coming in and patiently waiting for their orders. As for the food. My god. Everything was spot on. The Mac and cheese was real Mac and cheese. It wasn't hiding behind an overload of cheese. It reminded me of my mom saying get that block of cheese out and get to shredding. It was the real deal. I don't even like cornbread like that but the muffins were banging! Portions were a good size. Prices were reasonable for what you are getting. The sweet potatoes had a special ingredient that I won't share. You gotta go try it. Again, not a huge sweet potato fan but this was like good sweet potato pie. Nothing but good eating here!

It was so delicious! I couldn't eat it all because the portions were huge! A lot of my trainees needed to-go bags because it was so much food in those containers. The peach cobbler is amazing too! Not too peachy and not too much breading--a perfect combination. The chef was grateful for us coming in and talked to us too! The host was a sweet man and hooked some of my trainees with some sweet tea on the house. Just beautiful people bringing delicious food to Bronzeville.

I was hesitant about the red beans and rice BUT they were some of the best I've had outside of my own. Greens were delicious as well. The portions were huge! Me and my wife were talking about how heavy our plates were. We each had three full meals of each plate. And when she wasn't looking, I ate some of hers too. She got the turkey wings (fire), mac and cheese (fire), and dressing. She said that was dry but when I went to steal some from her it was all gone. It was some good outside the house dressing. For desert we got the pudding cakes or cake puddings...idk what they are really but it was delicious. I have no idea why this place has three stars. Yall tripping. We arrived approximately 25 minutes early and had no issue waiting until our reservation time. The experience became disappointing when our server advised that multiple menu items were already sold out, including the candy yams, smothered turkey wings, collard greens, and a few additional items. We understood it was a busy holiday and were willing to work around that. However, after placing our order for appetizers (fried green tomatoes and buffalo wings) along with drinks, it took approximately 40 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. We were then told our entrées should be out shortly, but another 40 minutes passed with no food and no meaningful updates. At that point, after waiting over 2 1/2 hours and it being after 9:00 PM, we decided to leave. The complimentary warm champagne offered did not resolve the situation. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of communication, poor service overall, and no visible manager on duty to address the issue or assist customers. We understand holidays are busy, but waiting over two hours without receiving our meals is unacceptable, especially with a reservation for a large party planned in advance. Unfortunately, this experience put a damper on what was supposed to be a special Mother's Day family dinner.
