All I have to do in send the documents to their office by mail. Then we got called back, just for the lady to check on my phone for the confirmation for the appointment, was set for 2 weeks ahead. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The way this place is run is a circus. The 1st week of being married to the love of my life is thoroughly intruded by this wretched place.

Certain that something this important would get lost, I decided to try and hand deliver it. I had visions of the something worse than going to DMV. I was so wrong. I went in without an appointment, was met at the door by a guard to ensure that I didn't have any weapons (too bad we live is a society where this is a necessity). There were 3 people at the windows and 2 sitting waiting in chairs. I entered information into the kiosk and got a ticket with a number. It was a short wait when my number showed up on the screens. I did my business and the lady helping me was friendly and helpful, an actual person not a mindless drone. I headed back to my car. It only took 15 minutes or less.

I went there the second time, waited in line for an hour, only to be told that I couldn't get my paperwork witnessed there unless I had an appointment. The other option would be to have it notarized and submitted via mail. Why should I have to wait in line for one hour just to be told that they couldn't provide a service in person, and that I'd end up having to mail the paperwork in? On what galaxy does this make any sense? Basically, you can't do anything there in person that you can't do over the mail or online. So, why do the front desk workers even exist, if their only job is to tell you to mail something in? The only people who actually work at the Vital Records office are the ones who end up mailing you the documents. This office is entirely pointless and will waste your time. Don't bother going there, just go to their site, print out the forms, and mail them in. They don't even have the ability to give you the certificates the same day you walk in. You still have to wait to get it in the mail! There is literally no purpose to this office. This place is so inefficient it shouldn't even exist.

That is key, appointments are a must when possible as when I arrived at this location the check in was easy via an iPad type device and I was immediately sent to the "appointment" line (B) which had nobody in it. The walk-in line, however, had at least 12-15 people waiting. I stood there for no more than 10 minutes before being called up to a free window. The process was incredibly smooth, the representative was knowledgeable and professional and I was out of there in 5-7 minutes tops. She said to come back when I have the right certificate. Fast forward to today- I go to the superior court who tell me that my certificate is legal and binding and fine. I go back to this place and wait for another hour while they email to verify that the court clerk was correct. Again, no dice.
