There's a food hall in development and many more attractions on the horizon. Downtown has a cool city feel, it's smaller but I enjoyed having a convention center, arena, and several public activities during the end of the year. My family and I spotted an ice rink hosted by the local hockey team the Tucson Roadrunners! Tucson has a several hiking trails, a national park near (Saguaro), and beautiful views of the desert mountain landscape. The roads are pretty good, much better than other cities I've visited in the US. If you're an introvert, this is a great place. Overall, the locals were pretty decent. I ran in to a couple of unsavory, raunchy people with no class but hey that's everywhere. Thankfully, since Tucson is more diverse and has a big Hispanic community, there's a little less prejudice here. I have hope for Tucson as it's quickly progressing.

So a little history about Tucson AZ it was established as a spanish presidio in 1775 and incorporated as a city in 1877 Tucson is the oldest city in Arizona, plus it's rich history, diverse culture and unique outdoors adventures in the surrounding mountains, like hiking, rocking climbing, vineyards tours, cave tours historical tours just to name a few. I do plan to come back and explore what the city of Tucson has to offer. 1,412.7 miles to go.

The town of Sahuarita wastewater departmen is a den of thieves…read more You have to irrigate extensively due to the climate. Over 25 years I average about 20kgal/month irrigating. Problem is the city sewage department charges sewage rates on irrigation water, even though such never sees a sewer. They just use the water company meters, which reading includes both irrigation and sewage water, and charge sewage on both. So I am fraudulently charged around $160/month. For 25 years now. Obvious fraud, but they say, "Hey we're the government." They set up a "sim program" to allow the customers to install a meter reporting irrigation levels, allowing the bosus sewage charge on irrigation to be backed out of the bill. Trouble is they like fraud and keep about 20% of the money which would correct out the fraud. No reason except once they steal your money they want to hold onto it. Another scam they pull is to "somehow" miscalculate your bill, every month, charging about twice what is due, They "correct" the overcharge but you have to haggle with them. It's always an overcharge, never an undercharge, so it's not random error. Most people don't check so are victims of more fraud. The "water" the Sahuarita water company furnishes is undrinkable, by the way. You can't even wash your car with it. Flint Michigan water is better than this poison.. The EPA needs to check out this "water". Lastly I point out I am a resident of Rancho Sahuarita, a planned subdivision. The people who bought into the subdivision paid for a huge lake to be built for our pleasure. Yet somehow our lake was "given" to the town of Sahuarita. Whoa it belonged to the residents of Rancho Sahuarita, and giving it to the town is a gigantic theft of many millions of dollars. This is a warning, If you buy into Rancho Sahuarita expect to be defrauded by the town with no benefts. The HOA fees go up every year as the HOA services go down, another scam.
