I went in without an appointment, was met at the door by a guard to ensure that I didn't have any weapons (too bad we live is a society where this is a necessity). There were 3 people at the windows and 2 sitting waiting in chairs. I entered information into the kiosk and got a ticket with a number. It was a short wait when my number showed up on the screens. I did my business and the lady helping me was friendly and helpful, an actual person not a mindless drone. I headed back to my car. It only took 15 minutes or less.

Not wanting to run into a delay and be late we planned to arrive about an hour before my scheduled time. We made good time on the freeway and arrived at 12:30pm for my 1:40pm appointment. Instead of stopping for lunch before hand, we went straight to the enrollment center, rang the buzzer and asked if by chance they could take me early. The sliding doors opened and we were in the waiting room. That's when we met the voice on the speaker. Agent Ballesteros! He took me right back and made quick work of the interview. He was kind and efficient. I turned over my passport and my Arizona Driver's license showing my current address. He took my fingerprints and had a few questions, mostly to verify the information they had was correct. I received a Global Entry information guide in which my new pre-check number had been written. Then we were done. I thanked Agent Ballesteros for taking me early and we were on our way out. The chairs in the waiting room had a few people in them by then. I'm thinking we must have showed up right at the end of their lunch break. If you're in the greater Phoenix area, don't hesitate to make the drive down to the Tucson Enrollment Center if an appointment time in the Valley won't work for you. Just be aware of the heavy traffic during morning and evening rush hours mostly between Phoenix and Casa Grande. Plan your appointment for a time that allows you avoid rush or come on the weekend and enjoy a nice drive. It's definitely doable and certainly worth the benefits that Global Entry affords us.

Interview spots at Phoenix airport weren't available until a few months later but Tucson location offered a whole lot more including weekend! Parking is available at the short term parking at the airport. Park near the entrance as the Global Entry office is near there. We arrived one hour earlier than our appointment time but they kindly went ahead to process. The whole process was about 5-6 minuets. I thought it took 15 minutes when I originally applied but their process was very quick and efficient. I was thinking did I just drive 2 hours one way for five minutes interview? But considering benefits we get from the membership, it was worths the drive. If you can't get interview in Phoenix, consider Tucson as your alternative.

Came in yesterday waiting for a name change on my drivers license due to marriage. Waited for about twenty minutes and was told my marriage certificate isn't valid because it's foreign and that I need to go to the county clerk for an Arizona one. I told her that it's not what the attorney who married us said and that this marriage certificate was sufficient to change my SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. No dice. She said to come back when I have the right certificate. Fast forward to today- I go to the superior court who tell me that my certificate is legal and binding and fine. I go back to this place and wait for another hour while they email to verify that the court clerk was correct. Again, no dice. I was, however given a checklist of acceptable documentation and guess what!!!! My documents were acceptable. I simply left and went to the MVD on the east side and had my new drivers license in eight minutes flat. Yes, eight. I have collectively wasted one full day chasing my tail due to this facility providing incorrect and inaccurate information. Furthermore, the supervisor was sitting in the office in the left hand corner, no lights on hollering orders to people throughout the office. It was just an awful experience. I'd rather have a root canal or hang out in a dumpster than ever come back.

The officer I dealt with was so much more of a professional and seemed like a genuinely good human being. I didn't get the same shady, uneasy and distrusting vibe I get any time I have interacted with TPD. Sheriffs department seems to have the right idea on who to hire for that type of job. The cop said it was a 25 mile an hour zone. i told him repeatedly that after the 25 mile an hour sign there were 45 mile an hour signs (plural). This dumbass gave me a ticket anyway so i had to either pay a fine for a ticket I wasn't guilty for, pay for a class to keep my record clean, or fight the ticket in court. It cost me over $1,000 to fight the ticket in court and the jackass cop didn't even have the balls to show up. I can understand people making mistakes, but this one had a significant price tag to it i volunteer and I shot that local businesses the money I would spend on giving back to my community and purchasing goods from local mom and pop shops has been decimated for one month so when the economy is drowning you can bet your sweet ass at the Tucson cops are going to make it worse..​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

From the appointment booking process online to even showing up in person. Every step of the process was easy, fast, efficient and friendly (might I add). It's a really small office but if you book an appointment during the daytime on a weekday like I did, you shouldn't have to deal with any crowds or lines. I don't ever plan on being back in Tucson for any other reason than obtaining an emergency passport for myself or any of my family members.
