We love this base! We're from Tucson and been stationed at DM for 10 years, since my husbands start of career. The base offers lots of beautiful views and awesome sites of many different planes. I appreciate the play of Reveille and National Anthem each day. There's many parks and things to check out. We lived on base our first 4 years and now live off base but still go on base to take advantage of the secure parks and safe neighborhood play. The last couple years the base does awesome quarterly events that are seasonally themed with great giveaways and lots of entertainment. They also host air shows every couple of years. The year round wonderful weather in Tucson where the base is located isn't bad either :)

Note: this review is for the AMARG facility tour only. Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona is a home to largest airplane boneyard in the world. That's right, in the world. Normally, airplane graveyard are no access to general public - however, you can visit this one via Pima Air and Space Museum guided bus tour. Tours are available twice a day (depending on season), and require advance reservation with security pre-clearance. Well worth the time! It's definitely a sight to take in - over 4,000 aircraft from different eras and points of origin, U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, Coast Guard, NASA... Some are here on "Celebrity Row" to rest forever, and some being repaired and regenerated for future use. Amazing to visit.

I took this picture looking over a fence.

Davis Monthan AFB is a great place for driving around and taking photos through the fence. If you take the tour, they limit you on what you can see. You can walk around a small yard with different types of aircraft for a fee. Or take a bus tour through the boneyard for another fee. Unfortunately the only photos that really came out were the ones that I took looking over the fence after the tour. Because of the bus' darken windows, all the photos that I took on the bus had a darkish blue tint on them. If you like aircraft boneyards get a tour at the Pinal Air park in Marana. Just north of Tucson. They will drive you out to six Boeing 747's that you can walk around for free.

Very cool! There were airplanes as far as the eye could see. I think it may be the largest airplane graveyard in the U.S. I'm not sure - we only drove around it. But, I was certainly entertained / or at least enjoyed looking at all of them.

We lived here up until 19 months ago and if you can "ignore" the area outside the gates, it's a really nice place to live. Beware, you've been warned! We lived in SrNCO housing and our home was great for the two of us. The lower enlisted housing can stand some updating. Everything on base was really convenient and as with any PX, it has a little bit of everything from garden supplies to clothing. The commissary is typical and directly across from the PX. There's a clinic, no full service hospital or emergency room. We're happy the Air Force "shared" with the Army! The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is due to the surrounding area and no full service hospital.

Thank you for your time serving love you and the air

On a holiday weekend, one window open makes no sense. LONG wait and slow service, would be nice to have more workers

Not wanting to run into a delay and be late we planned to arrive about an hour before my scheduled time. We made good time on the freeway and arrived at 12:30pm for my 1:40pm appointment. Instead of stopping for lunch before hand, we went straight to the enrollment center, rang the buzzer and asked if by chance they could take me early. The sliding doors opened and we were in the waiting room. That's when we met the voice on the speaker. Agent Ballesteros! He took me right back and made quick work of the interview. He was kind and efficient. I turned over my passport and my Arizona Driver's license showing my current address. He took my fingerprints and had a few questions, mostly to verify the information they had was correct. I received a Global Entry information guide in which my new pre-check number had been written. Then we were done. I thanked Agent Ballesteros for taking me early and we were on our way out. The chairs in the waiting room had a few people in them by then. I'm thinking we must have showed up right at the end of their lunch break. If you're in the greater Phoenix area, don't hesitate to make the drive down to the Tucson Enrollment Center if an appointment time in the Valley won't work for you. Just be aware of the heavy traffic during morning and evening rush hours mostly between Phoenix and Casa Grande. Plan your appointment for a time that allows you avoid rush or come on the weekend and enjoy a nice drive. It's definitely doable and certainly worth the benefits that Global Entry affords us.

Interview spots at Phoenix airport weren't available until a few months later but Tucson location offered a whole lot more including weekend! Parking is available at the short term parking at the airport. Park near the entrance as the Global Entry office is near there. We arrived one hour earlier than our appointment time but they kindly went ahead to process. The whole process was about 5-6 minuets. I thought it took 15 minutes when I originally applied but their process was very quick and efficient. I was thinking did I just drive 2 hours one way for five minutes interview? But considering benefits we get from the membership, it was worths the drive. If you can't get interview in Phoenix, consider Tucson as your alternative.

I told her that it's not what the attorney who married us said and that this marriage certificate was sufficient to change my SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. No dice. She said to come back when I have the right certificate. Fast forward to today- I go to the superior court who tell me that my certificate is legal and binding and fine. I go back to this place and wait for another hour while they email to verify that the court clerk was correct. Again, no dice. I was, however given a checklist of acceptable documentation and guess what!!!! My documents were acceptable. I simply left and went to the MVD on the east side and had my new drivers license in eight minutes flat. Yes, eight. I have collectively wasted one full day chasing my tail due to this facility providing incorrect and inaccurate information. Furthermore, the supervisor was sitting in the office in the left hand corner, no lights on hollering orders to people throughout the office. It was just an awful experience. I'd rather have a root canal or hang out in a dumpster than ever come back.
