I went in without an appointment, was met at the door by a guard to ensure that I didn't have any weapons (too bad we live is a society where this is a necessity). There were 3 people at the windows and 2 sitting waiting in chairs. I entered information into the kiosk and got a ticket with a number. It was a short wait when my number showed up on the screens. I did my business and the lady helping me was friendly and helpful, an actual person not a mindless drone. I headed back to my car. It only took 15 minutes or less.

And i told them everybody is wearing sweaters and jackets. So they didn't answer my question but inferred No. Don't they wanna save the environment? And their response was the employees get hot in the employees-only room? Sorry but the library exists to serve the public, not to serve the employee. The customer always comes first. I'm not getting paid to be there, they are. I'm not at work, they are. Oh and definitely don't go in the afternoon/evening because that's when there's LOUD children there. When i was a child, if i was ever loud while in the library or even school library, i'd get reprimanded. This particular branch seems to not maintain a QUIET atmosphere. When i complained the employee's response was, "We're a small library...and this is as loud as it's gonna get." Btw, not only are the children loud but they cuss. When i was little i couldn't cuss around adults or i'd get reprimanded. They literally get so loud that you can hear them even while in a private room. So loud that you can hear them while wearing rubber-tipped earbuds from the other room. This is unacceptable. A library is supposed to be quiet, period. If you want your child to be loud, take it elsewhere. This is not your home. I've been coming to this branch for years, since before this particular employee was working there. Even before it got renovated it was quiet, despite the librarians having nice activities where they'd e.g. read to children, AND IT USED TO BE SMALLER! I've never had a problem with noise until i went to this particular branch recently. The employees i interracted with might as well have given me the finger. And i think one of them was the manager.

The first couple of times I went to drop off some junk, and let me tell you, I had a dam good time tossing my junk around. In fact, I had such a good time that I went back again just to explore. The cost to enter is an easy $10 for a truck load. You'll obviously get charged more depending on the shiz you wanna dump and how much junk you have. When you enter, you'll drive for a little ways then stop at a little toll booth. There's usually some grubby looking dude there who will assess your junk and give you a price. Now, I didn't have any trash to dump during my last visit, and I didn't want to look like one of those creepers who likes to play around in trashy places. So what I did was take some trash bags out of my neighbor's cans and threw them into the back of my truck to make it look like I had legitimate trash to dump (which technically I did, it just wasn't mine). I don't know about you people, but for me, I always had this idea about trashmen that they were these gross, ugly, weird, and vial human beings. I mean, who in their right mind says to themselves, "You know, I think I'll get a job in the trash industry today and do that for a living." I'll tell you who... the unsung heroes. I'm not sure where I got this whole stereotype of trashmen being all kinds of dirty (no pun intended). Maybe it came from my childhood when I used to stare outside my window and see the people from waste management rummaging through my garbage cans and opening up the trash bags. I always thought it was gross and so strange which is why I used to watch them do it every Wednesday morning before I went to school. It's probably the reason why i am a bit fascinated with trash too. I mean, I took my neighbor's trash just so I could mess around at the landfill. Don't judge me though. I'm doing it all for my fellow yelpers. I'm dedicated like that. Anyways, the trashmen at this place are very friendly and courteous. They are not weird, ugly, gross, or vial, so don't be afraid to ask them questions and talk to them. Trashmen are people too. There are a couple bins right after you pay your way in. You can dump your metals, cardboards, oils etc. If you drive up the hill, you'll pass by a place to throw your old appliances. At the very top, you will arrive at the place where you can dump anything. I talked to the guy up there and he told me, "We'll bury anything up here." All you gotta do is back your vehicle up and throw all your shit on the ground. The trashmen will bury all that crap with sand and water using their awesome bulldozers. The last time I was there, I tested the sturdiness of the ladders. Warning: they are a bit wobbly so be sure to hold on to the handles and take it easy going up. The smell isn't bad at all. It may smell a bit musty up top, but down below it's completely fine (that's what she said). There is a speed limit and the roads are not paved so be sure to keep that in mind. Don't be doing any of that offroad nonsense. You leave the same way you came in. With that said, the landfill is a fun and magical place. If you and your family are ever looking for something to do, I'd recommend taking the wife and kids to the landfill. It's a great learning experience. Teaches kids how to recycle and what not. Who knows, maybe your kids will be so fascinated that they'll decide to work in the trash industry. It's a noble job and I'm glad there are people willing to do it. I walked in without an appointment, was immediately greeted, put in line, and taken care of after less than 10 minutes of waiting. To switch over a title and registration it took about a half an hour, so in total I was in there less than 45 minutes. Extremely impressive. On top of being timely, the building is nice. The employees are kind and interested. Both employees I spoke to offered their heartfelt condolences. Just everything about the whole experience was 5 million times better than the MVD. There is a service fee--I think it was $35, but it was worth every penny. I'll be coming here exclusively from now on for all of my MVD related business.

Small ramada to sit in out of the sun. There is a small butterfly garden. There is a developed path system that also goes to the area of the settlement.
