Lack of price transparency, and price gouging are my two biggest complaints. We had a battery needed replacement for the panel that the company reached us out about. They charged us $600/hour service fee for a 10 min job. No quotes, nothing. Staff is combative. I would recommend AAA protection services over these guys any day. read more

We have a building that was caught on fire, and it's been vacant for two years already (no occupancy permit). Each year, FPI calls me for inspection alarm testing, and each year, I tell them we don't have an occupancy permit yet. In fact, I even asked them if they would do installation for our reconstruction, and they even said they only do alarm testing. Fair enough, until I got an invoice for fire alarm monitoring stating that we have never 'canceled' the account and that the panel is still communicating to their company. Not sure how that is possible as there's no power to the building since the fire (lines cut by fire department for safety reaso s), and as I was emailing back and forth to the agent to explain, she was snappy to justify how 'not doing fire alarm testing' is not canceling the account. Obviously, no one who worked there has ever tried to understand the situation, and no one ever cared in their company. I can give the benefit of the doubt that each and everyone just want to do their assign duties and go home, nothing else is their business, but in the a fire situation is where people actually lost their homes and major loss, and here you are don't give a 'shxx' and keep billing for NO SERVICE done is insanely ridiculous. Please make life simple for us. For owners who want to make easy money, plenty of other choices out there, and please stay away from fire, security business. For staffs who just want a paycheck for their duties assigned, there are plenty more options out there, too - you deserve better as life is short. read more

FPI, Inc. treats long term clients horribly. I entered into contract with them 2 years ago for a property that has used their service for over 12 years. In the past the contracts had been for 1 year, and when we updated the contract they snuck in a 60-month term that was overlooked. Recently our alarm system failed and nobody was notified. Our tenants had to contact the fire department to have the fire department turn off the alarm. The following day I contacted FPI and they said they notified us. Then they provided an estimate to repair the damaged fire panel for 3x the amount that it costs us to actually repair the fire panel (they quoted $10k+, we paid $3k to a different company for the exact same work.) We then cancelled our contract with FPI and entered into contract with the company that responded in a timely manner with a reasonable price to repair the panel. FPI said they didn't fail because they notified the company who managed the property 7 years prior, and said it was our fault that their system was not updated, even though they were contracted with my company and my contact information. After 12 years of being loyal customers, FPI has treated us like crap during a crisis. You don't take advantage of long-term customers, and you don't hold them hostage to remain your customer, after you fail horribly to perform. read more

I love supporting local businesses. It's nice when you have a question to call and actually have a human on the other end. I switches both of my businesses from a big national company that I always had trouble getting throug to the department I needed to speak with. All and All the switchover went smooth and painless. The group of installers was professional and cleaned up after themselves. I will defiantly use them again when the need arises. read more
