not going to lie I was super excited about coming here because of all the Instagram videos I've seen my friends wanted to come here so we came with my bbf one night we waited about 10 minutes outside. There was another group in front of us and we were seated in the booth in the corner. The set up was OK, but I was expecting a lot more when it came to the bars we spoke with the bartender and we pretty much asked him like how was your day stuff and like that it was not taken well at all. He didn't suggest no drinks we weren't really greeted. However, we had a great server. He was super fantastic and the only reason why I gave this place a three stars he answered a lot of questions and everything that we wanted to know was right there when we needed service but the host and the bartender should've been nicer this is definitely a sports bar/club kind of vibe the lighting was very club like and this def a hibachi style noodles we went there around dec for timeline reference

Drinks and a view of Alcatraz.

Came in to enjoy the amazing views. Trish (Trisha?) did an incredible job getting our drinks and went beyond to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and it had large delicious shrimps.

    Our view

The waiter was incredibly friendly and great (Nikhil). He was apologetic that they weren't able to offer any mixed drinks at the bar since apparently the bartender left (this was at 6:45pm). They still offered beer and wine. Ambiance was fun and you couldn't ask for a better view. Stunning. Food was good. It is kind of like a buffet of uncooked stuff that you fill a bowl with and then bring it to the cook. One downside is there is only one giant skillet so if your vegetarian, your food might be cooked 5 inches away from a pile of seafood or steak and the cook uses the same utensils to handle all food (we asked if he was able to use a non-seafood covered spatula for the vegetarian with us and he said no). A few of the ingredients from my concoction did end up getting mixed into my wife's food. Overall it is a fun experience and my kids LOVED it. I wish I could have gotten a few margaritas to enjoy with the view but alas, maybe next time.

This restaurant sits at the very end of Pier 39, which means you'll need to make your way through a stretch of tourist chaos to get there--but the reward is worth it. The views are incredible, with clear views of the bay and "The Rock" Alcatraz. The concept of Fire + Ice is fun and interactive, though during peak hours, expect long lines both to fill your somewhat small bowls and to get them cooked. The selection of proteins was a bit odd--ranging from scallops and steak to hot dogs and hamburgers--which may not suit all tastes. The flavor sauce section is also overwhelming, with dozens of options and little guidance, making it difficult to know what pairs well. The bar staff was very friendly and welcoming, which helped balance the experience. However, the cooks at the grill seemed rushed and not particularly approachable. Cleanliness could also use a little attention. Despite the quirks, the location and views give this place strong potential. With a few adjustments, it could become a much more enjoyable spot for both tourists and locals alike.

We are from Oakland and rarely visit the city. Saw this place on tik tok and we had to try it and can say we will definitely be coming back ! Food was delicious and the cook was amazing !! He kept small conversations and made us enjoy our time there. Went there during lunch time so it was fairly empty, host was very kind and the waiter was very attentive. Can't wait to bring visiting family here !

The one chef by the grill area is very rude. His yelling and getting mad at my family for not forming a line which we are still getting food, like there's a line of people in the area. We are the only ones in there. We are being rush for no reason. It's so prostrating that he doesn't need to yell; he can say it nicely, but pointing and yelling aren't nice ways to approach things. I'm at the point of walking out, but I thought of my family, especially their looking forward to trying this place. Very disappointed. Overall, it's not a good experience for my family and me. The food you have to choose yourself, so the taste will depend on how you make it. Yes, they will cook it, but pretty much that's it. Appetizers are separate charges.

Wanted to try this newly open place. And it was ok. They do have a good variety of proteins along with a variety of carbs. They have a good variety of vegetables too. They need to put signs up on where the line begins it's very confusing. Also the 2 guys cooking the food are NOT good they do alot of personal talking and the one guy does WAY to much banging of the spatula flipping it high smacking it down and who can do it the hardest. I noticed the other people were getting annoyed with it too. The cooks just spent way too much time banging their spatula. Hardly saw out server i had to flag another server for some more iced tea. I dont think I'll come back. Maybe later down the road.

Fire & Ice is an amazing "All U can eat" place right at Pier 39 in San Francisco. We visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday and man it was nice. Great views of Pier, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, lots of ferries and boats passing, etc. We visited on Sunday in the afternoon around 2:30PM and it wasn't that busy at all. We tried different variances of sauces and pasta/veggies combination every time we got up to get seconds. Being a strict vegetarian it was very important for us to not get our food mixed up with meats and loved how they have separate sections for pasta/noodles/rice, veggies, meats, seafood, sauces and spices to make sure it doesn't get mixed with each other. We requested our food to be cooked separately and the two gentleman at the grill were more than happy to accommodate it and cleaned a quarter section (for 5 of us) for our food to be cooked. Because of not so busy times, there were only 2-3 servers and it took some time to get our drinks served. If they are busy or if you strict Vegetarian or Vegan like us, you can also request your food to be cooked inside the kitchen as they have a separate grill or something they can cook your meals separately. One suggestion to keep in mind: I called in and made a reservation for Sunday afternoon on Friday and I was give a verbal confirmation, but when I called in on Sunday morning on our way to the restaurant, I was surprised to hear that there was no reservation for us. I talked to Jerry and he saved our day by making another reservation and immediately received a confirmation text as well as email. So please make sure you receive a written confirmation if you make a reservation. Shout Out to JERRY & Chelsey for accommodating us and going over and above to make our experience enjoyable and comfortable. Parking: There is a parking garage right across from Pier 39 and also there are many other street parking, other garages, etc options around the restaurant. Location: Great location (all the way at the end/back of Pier 39). You'll have to make your way through tourists, but per our experience, it's worth the efforts. Dietary Restrictions: Good place for Vegetarians & Vegans alike. Please request to have to food cooked separately to avoid cross contamination. Coupons or other offers: We're a VIP members for this restaurant and were suppose to receive a Birthday Discount since we were celebrating my wife's birthday, but were told by our server and manager that this location does not accept or honor and coupons or offers. Views: Amazing views of Pier, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, SF Bay

Absolutely amazing spot to go! I went to the one in Tahoe and it was priced at 75 bucks per person and to be honest hated the food. So when my friends suggested this location I thought surely that this would be the same experience. Boy was I wrong! The drinks were amazing! The guys on the grill were top-tier and funny! The g food was fresh and portions were perfect! Will definitely be going back!!!

Is bar seating available? Also, am a bit confused as I was under the understanding that the restaurant took the former spot of the Hard Rock Restaurant, which occupied space at the front entrance to the Pier, not the back of it?

They do have a bar section as you enter the restaurant. Im not sure what space they took, but they are located in a hidden spot. We usually pass by the Bubba Gump restaurant to get to Fire+iCE. Great views of the water though!

It was founded by Anton "Tony" Nikitovich and quickly became a gathering place for the neighborhood's Italian and Croatian communities, where people came to swap stories, argue politics, and enjoy a stiff drink after a long day. And honestly, that tradition carried on well into the years when many of us became regulars. I hadn't been back for a few years until recently, when I decided to stop in again. The bar wasn't overly busy, but a handful of neighborhood folks were sitting at the counter, trading stories over their drinks. It felt instantly familiar. Not much has changed since the early 2000s when I used to come here regularly, and that's exactly what makes Tony Nik's special. Step inside, and it still feels like a mid-century film set: tufted leather seating, a long wooden bar that's seen nearly a century of San Francisco history, and that iconic neon sign glowing outside. While much of the city has reinvented itself again and again, Tony Nik's somehow held onto its soul. It's a grown-up bar without being stuffy, no loud club music, no trendy gimmicks, just well-made cocktails, a classic jukebox, and an atmosphere that feels earned rather than manufactured. The bar stayed in the Nikitovich family for decades, and the current owners were wise enough to preserve both the name and the vintage character Tony originally created. It's one of those rare places that reminds you what North Beach used to be, and, thankfully, still is.
