They didn't speak much English which normally I wouldn't mind but my MIL needed to communicate to her person not to touch a certain area on her head. There should be at least one English speaking person to confirm health/medical background of clients. The shampoo and massage was not very good. Light pressure. Boring repeated moves. Not to mention the 70 minute session was more like 50-55 minutes of head spa, the rest was us changing and the blow dry. I've been to two other head spa experiences which I loved and comparing Vivi with the other places, I didn't care for Vivi much at all. My mom agreed as well. My MIL has never experienced a head spa so she liked it. In other head spas that I've been to, they included a mini facial. Also, when I left those other places, my hair was extremely clean and soft. My hair was not soft after Vivi which could be due to their usage of low tier products. I think I saw Pantene Pro V on their cart. The only good product they used was Olaplex during the blowdry. The ladies were nice but the service was just so so. I would not come back again.

I left with wet hair because the person blow drying at the end wasn't even paying attention and by that point i wanted out. Not to mention the first person who started the massage left because a man came in and requested her for a body massage. Waste of time. Waste of money. Stay away. Lesson learned. Saving $20 isn't even worth it

I take no pleasure in writing this review, but I feel it is my civic duty to warn future customers…read moreabout what can only be described as the massage from hell. Consider this your public service announcement: enter at your own risk. I booked a 60-minute full-body massage at this small spa, hoping for a relaxing escape. Instead, what I received was a chaotic, oil-drenched attack on my body that I may never fully recover from. Let's start with the first warning sign: as I entered the room, I spotted a floss pick just chilling on the couch (yes, you read that right). It was as if the universe was telling me, "Run, don't walk." I stayed. Foolish me. The woman who checked me in, who I will refer to as "the attacker," led me to the room and told me to get ready. I should've known things were about to go sideways when she came back in and asked if I had booked 60 or 90 minutes. Why didn't she know? Was she just winging it? Oh, she was. Spoiler alert: that was the least bizarre part of the entire experience. She covered me with a towel -- not the usual drape, mind you, but laid it over me vertically like she was tucking in a small burrito (I am a person, not a taquito, thank you very much). Then, for reasons I still cannot comprehend, she began "massaging" me through the towel. For ten long minutes. I began to wonder if maybe she thought I had a layer of dirt she didn't want to touch. But then came the oil. Oh, the oil. Not a normal amount -- no, she practically baptized me in it. I was now a human slip-and-slide. She started with these fast, frantic movements that I can only describe as if she were trying to roll out pizza dough -- except that dough was me. Imagine a rolling pin, but instead of wood, it's her forearms, and instead of dough, it's your back... and she's using the speed of a Formula 1 pit crew. I was terrified she was going to keep going until I was a flat, thin disc of a human. It got worse. At one point, without any warning, she yanked down my underwear. I've had plenty of massages in my life, and never once has someone felt the need to roll down my undies. My butt was out. Exposed. Like it was some kind of casual Tuesday event. The technique (if we can call it that) was just as aggressive as before. She switched to what I assume was her version of "working out knots," but it felt more like she was trying to put out a small fire on my back. She was speed-rubbing as though she had double-parked outside and needed to finish before she got towed. I thought maybe, just maybe, she'd chill out when she got to my arms and legs. Reader, she did not. The same crazed up-and-down rubbing, dousing me in even more oil like I was some kind of Thanksgiving turkey. And then, in a completely nonsensical move, she grabbed my arm and just started shaking it. Like a maraca. What? Why? Was she summoning spirits? The leg portion followed the same nightmarish pattern: no draping, no care. Just speed-shaking my legs around like she was trying to reset my bones. At one point, she bent my leg at a 90-degree angle and wiggled it like she was testing a car jack. The only saving grace in this circus? The hot stones she left on my back. Because at least they were inanimate and knew what they were doing. But the grand finale? The towel rubdown. Remember how she bathed me in oil? Well, she now scrubbed it off with the force of someone grating cheese. My skin felt like it was melting. I went from an oily human slip-and-slide to a block of cheese at an Italian restaurant, and I was ready to scream, "Check, please!" Oh, and just when I thought I'd suffered enough, she forgot entirely about my quads. Not that I wanted her to touch them after what I'd been through, but the fact that she skipped a whole part of my body just left me wondering what kind of fever dream this entire massage was. Let's not forget the side details: her hair brushing against me (which, let's be honest, added a horror-movie element), her disappearing from the room twice (for mysterious reasons), and the total lack of music or relaxing scents. It was just me, the bright lights, and the distant sound of muffled hallway music, which did nothing to drown out my internal screams. Should I have said something? Probably. Will I ever return? Absolutely not. Do I recommend this place? Only if you're looking for a story to laugh about with your friends -- because this wasn't a massage; it was a full-blown assault. Save your body, your dignity, and your money. Go elsewhere.

The food is exceptional across the board--clean, vibrant flavors, thoughtful presentation, and a menu that feels both creative and grounded. Every dish tastes like it was designed by someone who truly understands restraint and precision, not just trend-chasing. What really sets Kelo apart, though, is how seamless everything feels. The service is polished but relaxed, the pacing is perfect, and there's a calm confidence to the entire operation that you rarely see, especially locally. It's the kind of place where you can go for a special occasion but also just a great night out and leave equally impressed. Newton needed a spot like this--and Kelo absolutely delivers.

A group of girlfriends and I went and it was a treat-- for a three hour pass I think it was $80 or so. You get a locker, robe, towel and slippers. So just bring a bathing suit and you're good to go. The one piece that wasn't a good part of the experience was the staff. They were not at all friendly. When we ordered food and drinks their body language implied that we were bothering or annoying them. It would have been a much better experience if we felt welcome by them, but the space itself was nice.

I was coached to shut out the noise and focus on my breath. To my surprise, I stayed in for over three minutes. The exhilaration afterward was incredible, only surpassed by the sensation when re-entering the sauna as warmth and circulation flooded back in. It's invigorating, deeply calming, and oddly addictive. Release Well-Being Center is a premier destination for contrast therapy. I've not found anything that comes close to this experience. Known as BLISS, their expertly curated sauna and cold plunge experience lives up to its name. The space is stunning, the amenities are immaculate, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and that you are in for an elevated experience. The changing rooms are beautifully appointed (think high-end resort), and your locker is stocked with the most delicious robe, towel, and a pair of sandals. The staff does an exceptional job of keeping every space spotless, from the showers to the changing areas, and the beauty area, which boasts high-end hair products and styling tools, as well as any items you may have forgotten, such as hair ties, brushes, sanitary products, and razors. The heart of the experience lies in the relaxation lounge, a true sanctuary featuring two infrared saunas, a traditional sauna, and two pristine cold plunges (at temperatures of approximately 44° and 54°). The sauna relaxes and detoxifies. It's hot, yes, but deeply calming, evoking memories of back when it was okay to bake in the sun at the beach. The cold plunge is undeniably cold, but not painful; it stings and serves as a bracing wake-up call to both the body and mind. Sink in swiftly, breathe with intention, and time moves faster than you think. The contrast between the two has been transformative for me, with improved circulation, enhanced mental clarity, better cardio performance, a more elevated mood, and faster muscle recovery. And when you think you've hit peak Bliss, there's the eucalyptus steam room, also the best I've ever experienced. Stepping into its warm, fragrant mist after contrast therapy feels like a hug for your entire body. I've also had the pleasure of getting to know Linda Townsend, the founder and president of Release, who leads by example and shares the space with members. Our conversations in the sauna, about health, balance, and life, are part of what keeps me coming back. Release is more than a wellness center. It's a community, and a true gem in the heart of Boston. Try their generous Bliss trial membership. You won't regret it!
