Such an awesome experience here! The snow cones were great, set up was cute, and service wasn't bad. It was me and my boyfriend's first time and immediately we were excited by the different flavors Fire & Ice offers. The employee working was knowledgeable about each one and gave us great recommendations! The decoration and seating space for a mom and pop shop was impressive. I ordered the tropical splash while my boyfriend ordered 1/2 strawberry & bubblegum. We both loved the taste and the strength of the syrup flavor! Very tasty and sweet (but not too ridiculously sweet). Mine had a bit too much cream that wore down some of the flavor but for the most part, I was absolutely loving it! I was in the mood for a tangerine shaved ice. I looked and all info said 10am til 8pm... I figured since last year they had a shorter fall schedule that they had neglected to change the profile. No cars not an operation on short days but an operation that is missing out on a huge opportunity... since I've been writing this my car has drawn 4 others in who have turned around. 2.5 stars if I were to be really honest. I guess they were having an off day when we stopped in... Employee was not interested in helping us or answering questions about flavors. It'd be nice if the menu included an explanation of signature flavors (Gig 'Em? Captain America?) so we wouldn't have to ask 20 questions and irritate the lone employee. I'm writing this because I have enough time to between the time I ordered and till I will receive my snow cones. The wait is ridiculous. The lady said it will probably be a 25 minute wait. I love my shaved ice and so did my girls. There are so many flavors and the ice is so soft. We think it's better than all the shaved ice places in Austin (and we tried a lot of places). And the price is only 40% of what we normally pay in Austin. We love it so much that I ended up putting a couple more dollars into the tip jar. A great and friendly local business, Fire & Ice serves up chilled drinks during the warmer months and warm drinks as well. Their super-giant-massive list of drinks and combinations for snocones/slushies can be daunting, and probably adds to the wait time (10 cars can easily line up after classes or during certain times of the day.) Waiting can be boring but the drinks are pretty fantastic, and they will offer good suggestions if needed. I myself was given a chocolate dreamsicle which tasted like the name, and on a fiery summer day, it was the ice-ing on the cake, hah! read more
