I've been to Fiore II a few times and have always had a great experience. Attended an event at RJ Julia Bookstore this evening and my family and I decided to have dinner afterward and ended up here. A very quaint Italian restaurant with a very attentive staff. It wasn't crowded as it was a rainy Thursday evening. We were greeted and sat right away. They immediately brought us delicious warm garlic knots. OMG!!! Our meals were Chicken Marsala, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Fiore & Lobster, and Chicken & Shrimp. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and had plenty of leftovers. Took almost 1 hour for our food to hit our table. Waitress forgotten to get my wine, which she eventually realized and offered to take it off the bill. We sat near the entrance so the lack of attention to your customers who have been waiting for their food needs some improvement. Once we finally got our food they forgot to bring out my wife's food, basically the order never went to the kitchen. So they had to make her food in a rush, it was kinda warm/cold in the middle but she was so hungry that she didn't want to sent back again. The waitress did take that off the bill as well. Overall they needed some help that day not sure what happened why the lack of checking on your patrons. They did fix their errors and we did appreciate all the discounts and offers they made to make things right. For that I am grateful. The specials came with soup: a brothy soup with potato and pasta (ditalini a small, tube-shaped pasta) - it was an odd mixture but definitely homemade and the tastiest part of our meal. The lobster ravioli seemed like something straight out of supermarket but it was ok. The eggplant special was awful - it was a huge portion of these super flat probably frozen eggplant strips covered in marinara sauce. I think special meant that they were cleaning out their freezer. Stopped for lunch on way through Middletown. We have eaten in the dining room before so went with a cozy booth in the bar area for more casual style. Food is excellent! Lasagne and Veal Fiore both ample portions. Sauces on each were on point as one a red sauce and the other a vodka pink. Fresh tomato taste and not too acidic or heavy. Service was attentive. Our family has dined at Fiore ll on numerous occasions, and have always had great Italian food, good service, at reasonable prices. We loved the atmosphere in a nice quiet setting. Their lunch menu has a large selection of entrées. Entrees come with their delicious homemade garlic knots topped with Parmesan cheese.The Chicken Fiore is outstanding topped with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, in a vodka pink sauce. The chicken parmesan, and veal parmesan are also good choices. We are eating our way through all the many restaurants on Main Street in Middletown. Foote II was our most recent. It's one of several Italian restaurants on Main. It's also the most reasonably priced. We were greeted and seated right away and there was no time before our friendly waiter showed up with water and to take our drink order. As always we skipped drinks and placed our dinner and appetizer order. While waiting for our appetizer we were served Fiore's version of garlic knots. Let's be honest all Italian restaurants have some version of these-oily, garlicky and in this case covered in Parmesan. No good for someone on a low sodium diet but so delicious. Also included with our dinner was a choice of pasta fagioli or house salad. We both opted for the soup. Fair. Our main courses came and did not disappoint. The portions were quite generous and delicious. The lasagna actually reminded me of that at Olive Garden, to me a good thing. There was plenty of meat in the bolognese and the sauce seemed slightly sweet. While we have many more restaurants on Main to explore, we'll definitely be back to Fire II. read more

Right on Main St in Middletown. When we arrived at 5:45 for dinner, very few patrons. As the night went on, the place was bustling. I ordered my go-to, chicken marsala over pasta. My friend ordered the beef tips special. Both of us opted for salads w house dressing. Garlic knots came quickly, and she loved them. My chicken dish was excellent, very robust sauce. She also loved her entree. Service was impeccable. We split tiramisu and cannolis for dessert. Also, excellent. The only drawback of the evening were the ubiquitous flies dive bombing our food and, at times, us. They do have outdoor seating and doors are open to the outside, but really need to do something about the flies. read more

We came here the other night and had a great time. The food was delicious...we started with the Fried Mozzarella and Shrimp Oregenata. Both very good, the shrimp app was a. Bit small in my opinion for $14, it came with 4 shrimp but not very large shrimp. I got the chicken and shrimp entree with broccoli on the side instead of pasta. It was beautiful, delicious, and a nice portion! . My friend go the Chicken Marsala and she loved it . The food made me want to go back as try another one of their many entrees. The service was pretty good, after getting our drinks we were left waiting to take our order for a while, and after we ate all the staff went outside to take pictures and we were waiting to pay for a while. If you are looking for great Italian food at an affordable price, this is the place, plus you can't go wrong with service that is top notch, and waitstaff whom are very friendly and attentive. The food is delectable, probably the best Italian restaurant I've been to in this area. When we were seated, they brought us a warm bowl of garlic knots, they were moist and topped with a sweet garlic and a lite drizzle of oil and then topped with a sprinkling of Gorgonzola cheese. We shared an appetizer of calamari which was cooked to perfection, lightly seasoned and not at all greasy, there was a good mix of little squid tentacles and rings served with a chunky well seasoned marinara sauce. The house salads were served with an Italian house dressing dusted with Gorgonzola cheese. My daughter had the chicken fiore which was a fork tender chicken filet topped with spinach, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese in a vodka pink sauce. I had the chicken and shrimp which also was an extremely tender chicken filet which doesn't require a knife to cut, that is how tender the chicken is, the chicken is topped with slices of eggplant, then a couple spears asparagus, and a couple butterflied shrimp, then topped with cheese served over fresh noodles with a vodka pink sauce. After how tasty the entrees were, how could we pass on dessert, but we took the dessert to go, we ordered the tiramisu which like everything else was fabulous with a nice blend mascarpone, lady fingers drizzled with the right amount of coffee liquor and topped with shaved chocolate. I was staying in visiting Middletown at the Middletown Inn and decided to visit Fiore for dinner. I came in on a Monday night, so the restaurant was not too crowded, but there was still a nice amount of patrons. I started off with a sparkling water to drink and soon after placed my order: calamari (for my appetizer) and chicken and shrimp (for my entree). The dinner rolls that they bring out here before your meal are really good. Nice doughy bread and some garlic and oil on top. With every entree, you get a choice of a soup or salad, so I got the garden salad with Italian dressing, which I munched on while the rest of my order was being made. I started off with the calamari, which was delicious. It was fried in a nice crunchy batter and the calamari itself had a great bite to it and the meat went well the marinara sauce that it came with. My chicken and shrimp entree was scrumptious. It was chicken sitting on a bed of noodles topped with eggplant, cheese and some pieces of shrimp. A great sauce on top too that brought out a lot of flavor. I wish there were a few more pieces of shrimp, but that is not much to complain about! The portions here are especially large, so be prepared for leftovers. I wanted some dessert, but the others in my party wanted to leave, so I skipped on that. The servers here are very attentive and nice. Really good at their jobs and make everything a welcoming atmosphere. Delicious food keeps us coming back! I get the portobello mushroom app every time we come here because it is so flavorful. It's tart with a slight sweetness and the salt from the Gorgonzola makes for a perfectly balanced appetizer. Good size portions we had enough for lunch the next day. We got the lava cake for dessert and it was nice and warm and gooey. The menu is small but lends itself to a fast turn over; not only freshness of produce but other typical Italian ingredients and their preparations. What is most interesting is the owners and chef's in the kitchen are not Italian, they are from Montenegro but at first bite I'm sure you'll agree, no matter as these folks nail it and after all Montenegro is close enough to Italy to make any sketic a believer. I should have done this review before my must recent one. Again, it's only fair. The food was incredible back then. The penne putanesca was delicious and the eggplant fiore was also very good. Service was very good those two times in December 2019. Service was spot on. The pasta fagioli was also amazing. The garlic knots were also incredible with lots of garlic and so fresh. Salads are nice and fresh with your choice between 3 different dressings that they carry. Salads come with most meals unless marked on the menu with an asterisk * that they do not. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is kept very clean. Soup is nice and hot like it's supposed to be. Some places send you out warm soup. This place does it right sending out nice hot soup. Well decorated. Parking isn't too bad. Street parking on the main street that the restaurant is located on with meters and street parking on the side street with meters which is also fairly close. read more

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Monday. One of the few restaurants in Middletown open on Mondays. We were seated in the bar area. My husband was interested in lobster. He ordered the house salad and added lobster. The lobster was hot in a butter sauce. He thought it was delicious. The house salad comes with their house balsamic vinaigrette. He definitely would eat this again. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. There was no description about coming with anything however, there was. homemade Pappardelle pasta underneath the eggplant. It was very good. Their sauce is on a slight sweet side but I was very happy with the meal. Entrées come with soup or salad . I had the side salad which it comes with their balsamic vinaigrette. The garlic rolls seem to be unlimited. They kept bringing them out. They were warm and tasted. We were both very happy with our meals. We would like to come again to try some other things. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I did question why there was $.12 added to the bill that said "rounded ". I'd like to second the reviewer who said they have the best bread at this place. It's basically garlic knots bathed in butter, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese. This is fast becoming one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I've gone for dinner the past two Friday nights and had Sal as our waiter (great service). My first visit, I ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavlo and ordered it extra spicy. I was very satisfied. My second visit, I ordered the wild mushroom ravioli which comes in a red pesto sauce with Gorgonzola cheese - also delicious. Honorable mention to the pasta fagiola which tastes just like how my grandmother used to make it. It's a clean restaurant with great service, and very affordable prices. After letting the staff know they attempted to kill it and they were unsuccessful and the roach landed on my jacket. I ordered take out. OMG the garlic knots are super delicious. Soft and buttery. My husband and I really enjoyed them. The shrimp scampi was good, I added more garlic to it. The shrimp were huge. The lady who took my order was really nice and she told me when I went to pick up my food that she informed the kitchen of my allergy. I didn't have to ask which was really nice. The parking was horrible on a Friday around 5:15pm. It was raining so I didn't want to walk far and ruin my curly hairdo, I created a spot and prayed I didn't get a ticket. Thank God my meal was ready when I arrived so I was in and out. The restaurant is small, however I want to make plans to dine in one day, to get those garlic knots fresh out the oven. I've been a customer at Fiore's for years. They serve up all of the classic Italian dishes. It's one of my favorite places for eggplant parmesan and rollatini, veal cutlet dishes, and linguine with white clam sauce. Fiore's makes fabulous complimentary garlic knots, and that's another reason I choose to visit. The value is great. Most entrees are served over pappardelle pasta, and each entree comes with a salad. I've never been disappointed with their food, and I highly recommended their veal Fiore. The service is also fast, and they always offer specials. Well, it seems Fiore's on Main Street in Middletown is sadly taking the cheap way out as of late. I have frequented this restaurant since they opened back in the 1990s and am so disappointed. Ordered my favorite meal there which is the veal Parmesan over angel hair pasta, and the sauce was definitely undercooked and acidic. They no longer serve or even offer the small house salad with your dinner, but of course we're willing to offer the choice of the huge house salad instead. Several nice wines are no longer available on the menu either. I won't go on with the other changes/disappointments , but it seems their reputation is on the downward slide. What can I say? We just love Fiore ll! My husband changes up his selections, I do not. I come for the veal Genovese and it's always superb. We dined outside this week and service as always was attentive and efficient My only critique would be at times it seems rushed. But when I remember I ask that they slow the pace, it's perfect!
