There used to be a pretty good cafe that serves good coffee here, but it changed to Fiol.
You should have picked up the hint right there. The cafe was manned by two guys behind the counter when I was there. One (HOT) guy to take the order, the other to make the coffee.
While my cortado was drinkable, there was nothing special about it compared to the one I got at Coffee Collective. This place reminds me of Joe and the Juice with hot guys behind the counter. I've got nothing against hot guys, really. I would love to have them making my juice (err, that sounds a bit wrong) or coffee and I'm pretty sure there are actual hot guys who are expert in making juice (still sounds wrong) or coffee, that's not the case in Fiol.
Sorry, but I don't need pretty faces to lure money out of my wallet to get myself a caffeine fix. I just want the coffee to be the right kind and not just an average coffee served by hot guys. However, considering the cafe location (on Fiolstræde, duh - with ridiculous amount of wannabe locals (read= still tourists or the so-called "travellers") and the amount of giggly young girls entering the cafe and ordering when I was there, maybe Fiol didn't have bad strategy after all - maybe I was the one who was misplaced ordering my coffee there.
Anyway, it's a shame. It used to be a good coffee place and it still has such a cozy room inside to burrow yourself in a book with a steaming hot mug of chocolate perhaps. But coffee? No. Especially not cortado. Maybe I will take another chance when the counter is manned by someone not so hot anymore, or maybe I'm just being discriminative when it comes to hot guys making coffee.
