I have a friend/colleague who always insists on having meetings here. I'm not sure why he loves this place so darn much, but he really does. It has all the things you come to recognize as typical chain-coffee shop memorabilia and that's fine. Nothing special. Tourists come and go, people go to have meetings (guilty as charged!) and Swedish families try to get some light lunch. Business as usual.
But I still gave it four stars and why is that, you ask? Because Baresso is exactly what you think it is and there's nothing special in that. You already knew all that's written above when you started reading this because that's exactly what Baresso is. They'll get their money no matter what, so why bother, right?
Well, that's where you'd be wrong. The staff working here (and all other Baressos I've encountered) are so incredibly friendly and never backs away from a little conversation and a smile. Never. They seem to like working here. That's more than you can say about a lot of the independent coffee shops around (I'm looking at you, Vesterbro!).
As a sugar-addicted sweet-toothed candy fiend, I also love their drinks. Sure, they're bad for you in a major way - what would you expect ordering a salted caramel latte? - but they are very, very enjoyable.
Baresso don't really need to make drinks this good and their employees most certainly don't need to be so pleasant. But they still are. Good for them! And us. read more
