I had passed here several times earlier this winter and seen that something coffee-related was opening soon. So I was glad to discover that Coffee Sweden had finally opened on one of my strolls through old-fashioned Fiolstræde. The name Coffee Sweden, suits it nicely, seeing as the baristas and waiters are, in fact, Swedish. The menu isn't very Swedish, though, so that might be misleading. The music is kinda loud and very funkeh, disco-style. Not Swedish disco.. Decoration-wise, it has a lot og dark wood and soft leather chairs, giving it a kinda living room-like atmosphere. So fresh and so cle-clean. Set in my ways as I am, I ordered a cortado and a chocolate cookie. The coffee was just a tad too "burned", so it might have been running through the bayonet too long. The cookie was moist and delicious, with yummy chocolate chunks. With free wi-fi, a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, this could be a new regular study hang-out for me. They also have a very good looking selection of cakes that just begs to be tried out.

Great body (probably from medium higher roasted beans) and very elegant acidity at the end. Perfect style of coffee after lunch or snack. Next time, I have to ask what kind of beans they use. I also like interior. It's designed to calm down your mind by using a lots of wood, leather, books, light, music. All in relative harmony. Speaking of design and comfort, I liked the idea to move living room sofa and arm chair outside. How cozy is that! If you sit there and talk, watch ppl, feel the breeze .... how many cafes do that? It doesn't have the "homebaked" feeling, but still OK. The staff at this place is really friendly - we tried to understand the Danish words for numbers, really different from our Swedish but the girls behind the counter really made an effort to help us. Because Baresso is exactly what you think it is and there's nothing special in that. You already knew all that's written above when you started reading this because that's exactly what Baresso is. They'll get their money no matter what, so why bother, right? Well, that's where you'd be wrong. The staff working here (and all other Baressos I've encountered) are so incredibly friendly and never backs away from a little conversation and a smile. Never. They seem to like working here. That's more than you can say about a lot of the independent coffee shops around (I'm looking at you, Vesterbro!). As a sugar-addicted sweet-toothed candy fiend, I also love their drinks. Sure, they're bad for you in a major way - what would you expect ordering a salted caramel latte? - but they are very, very enjoyable. Baresso don't really need to make drinks this good and their employees most certainly don't need to be so pleasant. But they still are. Good for them! And us.

There's sugar and other condiments by the bar. 2) Space: Located in the basement of a 18th century building, you enter a cozy space with simple, inviting design. Order at the bar and find a table in one of two rooms. For being a small cafe, they make good use of the space and the tables inside. 3) Views: Since it's next to the Parliament, the street just outside the cafe offers perfect photos. There's free, strong wifi. The password is at the bar.

It is tucked away, right off Strøget, one of the busiest walking streets in the city. Around dinner, it got a bit busier since they serve actual food here, besides pastries and coffee. At that point, it was a bit louder and less suited for work.
