Salted pistachio latte
Bridget B.

Finjan coffee is a great addition to the SD coffee scene! I'd been to the other location and it was really good, so I was excited to try this one out. This spot is attached to a restaurant 'Tahini' so you can order both in the same spot. The entrance for finjan is on the northern side of the lot. I ordered the salted pistachio latte and it was one of the best lattes i've ever had. Really smooth and just the right amount of flavoring. I actually went back two days later to get the same thing because I was craving it again. I'd look forward to trying their matchas too!

Okay, the Turkish coffee with cardamom is amazing. I chose the non-sweetened option and the cardamom provided such an amazing aroma and flavor. I didn't try any of the food but the baklava looked really good. The service was fast and friendly. The only thing I did not like was how loud the music was and how cold it was in there. I had to go sit outside so I could read and because it was like an arctic tundra in the coffee shop. The outdoor seating area was pleasant, no music and no freezing cold air.

So excited another location opened just ten minutes away from me! Their coffee hours are a bit shorter than the Kearny Mesa location but I love the atmosphere no less. It's got a clean aesthetic with modest amount of indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the crispy kunafah (ate it so fast we forgot to take a picture haha because it was THAT good) and the vanilla bean latte, which was exquisite. I'm in the area a lot so looking forward to coming back more often. Hoping they grow further and open up many more locations across the county and beyond.

Walnut Baklawa Latte *SEASONAL SPECIAL*

Finjan coffee shares a space with Tahini located in a strip mall with Food 4 Less and various restaurants. There were several people using their laptops and enjoying their coffees upon our arrival. We checked out their menu which included coffees and light bites as well as baklava. I mean who could resist baklava?! Fresh!!! And, it's right near the cash register, lol! We ordered a walnut latte and a vanilla bean latte and, of course, a walnut baklava and a pistachio baklava. No pictures of the baklava we scarfed them down!!! The lattes were delicious, so creamy and foamy. Like a big hug is a cup, what a treat!! Side note, did not get the name of the gal that helped us but she was very helpful in narrowing down which latte I should try. Can't wait to try other items!!

Finjan coffee is a great try to expand your coffee culture. The coffee selections are great, along with helpful staff. A worthwhile visit. Recommend

I'm so happy that Finjan Coffee is now located in Mission Valley! This is my go to spot in Kearny Mesa and one of the best coffee shops in San Diego. Today I had the pleasure of trying the Walnut Baklava Latte and the Monkey Toast. The latte had chunks of baklava making each sip a weekend treat. The latte was served at the right temperature and not too sweet which made this a 5/5 latte. The Monkey Toast was amazing with delicious blueberries, strawberries, bananas and honey drizzled on top 5/5. The ambiance is very upscale and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend Finjan Coffee and a great way to start the morning.

I came here to try their salted pistachio latte and it didn't disappoint. It's nice inside, but there is limited seating, so if it's busy you might need to sit on the tahini side which is right next to them. There was no line when I walked in and my drink was really good.

Explanation of the knafeh

I got the chance to try Finjān Coffee at a mobile booth they ran for an Eid event I attended. It was so delicious that I will absolutely seek out their shops whenever I get the chance! I tried their karak tea (a milk tea with spices and sugar) and it was absolutely delicious! I also tried their baklava (pistachio and walnut) and both were great. Their knafeh, however, was standout. I had never tried kanafeh before but I got to have it fresh and warm and it was divine! (It's a dessert with shredded phyllo dough, a cheesy base, a floral syrup, and pistachios--it was really lovely!)

Gathering with friends at a very nice environment not dominated by the laptop campers, what a great thing! Very clean, nice original coffee mugs with the Arabic looking writing, so photogenic! My girlfriends and I enjoyed great coffee drinks in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The colorful lamps make the difference for sure in terms of decor. I like that we could get our food from the Tahini restaurant next door and have it while drinking our coffees. Thanks for offering a great space to enjoy conversations.

Walnut Baklawa

Stopped by Finjan because I wanted Turkish coffee but realized the coffee comes in a very small cup so I opted for the hot pistachio latte while my husband go there iced version. They ran out of that original baklava so we tried their seasonal walnut baklava. Not too sweet and walnut wasn't overpowering it. Paired well with the latte very well. I love how they have their own in house syrup you can ask to adjust the sweetness. Love the decor and cups/plates used. Will be back to try other drink.

Wendy G.

I don't drink coffee but am a sweets fanatic so stopped by Finjan to try the seasonal walnut baklava latte. The space is bright, airy and shared with the Tahini restaurant run by the same owners. As far as coffee shop locales go, this one didn't have the cozy, intimate nooks that I'd prefer if planning to stay a while but I was getting To Go so no biggie. There's a lot of cinnamon in this drink, so be sure you're a fan of that before ordering. The iced latte was unique, and I did enjoy some pleasing nutty, spiced notes that reminded me of baklava indeed.

IG: rs.Albright TikTok: m.Albright The pistachio latte was PERFECT. I was up all day and it was super flavorful. I also enjoyed the yogurt parfait, it was a good balance of sweetness! the staff was really nice too and helpful with my questions. The interior is super pretty. It's next to tahini and both of the decor matches each other well! I would definitely come back! Tons of parking too!

Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .

Waitress barely came to the table, we had to get up and ask her for things. I actually told the owner this time--the guy who sits outside near the entrance. Let's see if he does anything. Also, we had more than six people, and they included the tip in the bill, but they don't tell you that verbally and just hand you the machine to pay and it just shows the total and then asks you to fill in the tip amount.. So I asked to look at the bill and there's a charge near the bottom that says "charges and fees", I asked if that was the tip and she said yes. So this is one of those places that gets a lot of people to pay double the tip amount by not telling them it's included. Slimy if you ask me.
