He came out, took pictures of my vehicle, then started saying that they can start stripping my car down to do work and if any frame is bent, that they will bend it back to fit the new panel they'd put on. But if any is bent, I dont want it bent back, because once metal is bent it is never the same. I told the man this and that I am a blacksmith, and he said that I was correct, but he has worked on cars for 30-40+ years. I stayed respectful, but decided to pull my car out of their lot. All they want is my money, not my safety. Terrible service, find a different mechanic, all they care for is money.

Subsequently, I hooked up my OBD2 Scanner (On-Board Diagnostic Scanner) and read the codes. Since my normal mechanic had a month long backlog I called these guys, then asked a few questions and then towed it over to Robert to dig further into the issue(s). Everyone I talked to was pleasant, knowledgeable and responsive. They were able to work me in the following work day and after determining what parts were needed, obtained them promptly (I.e. next morning) and had the job completed by late afternoon. In short, my car was in and out by the end of the third day. Kudos to these guys for a job well-done, timely and very much appreciated. This was the first time I have ever dealt with Hutson Automotive - and will do so should the need arise again.

I NEED to share my experience with this company to help my fellow villagers who are searching for…read moresuch a reputable company. I used Nextdoor to find a mechanic for our automotive repair needs since we are fairly new. One that caught my eye was Hutson Automotive in Fruitland Park. People mentioned since they were experienced racers AND the were the choice of lots of people with the $$$ to invest in vintage cars favored this place, decided to give it a try. THIS PLACE IS 1950'S, MAYBERRY RFD, HONEST, HARDWORKING, I WOULD NOT QUESTIONS A SINGLE CHARGE BECAUSE I KNOW IF THEY SAID IT WAS NEEDED IT IS BECAUSE IT WAS honest!!!!! I will tell you I witnessed them tell people "hey, it might be under warranty and if it is great, but if it is not, bring back the receipt and I will deduct it from your bill should you choose to have us repair it". I witnessed people walking in to buy a "part" from them they personally were going to install vs having it done. THESE PEOPLE ARE REAL, HONEST, GENUINE PEOPLE!!!! IF your car needs ANY kind of servicing, I STRONGLY recommend you give them a call for your needs. Their mechanics have been there 20+ years which tells you they treat both the customer AND employees fairly. I was also impressed with observing them fight on the phone to FIND parts that are needed but unobtainable currently because of supply chain issues on behalf of their customers!!! I'm here to tell you there is not a place I have ever taken a car to in my nearly 70 years on this earth that I have felt better about. I am so very grateful for the recommendations I found here, and I know that as long as we are on this big, blue marble that we have found OUR automotive needs, won't take you to the cleaner's place for LIFE!!!!!!!

We've been bringing three family vehicles to Kelly's Auto for a while and were happy in the past --…read morebut recent experiences have been very disappointing - prompting our first review. We were charged quite a bit for preventative maintenance, and immediately afterward, the steering wheel started shaking -- something that never happened before. When we brought it back, we waited two days with no updates. After a long hold on the phone, we were told they found nothing wrong. Oddly, the A/C felt colder when we picked it up, suggesting a test drive may have just happened. Another vehicle took nearly two weeks just to get in. Once dropped off, they forgot we even brought it in, quoted repairs we didn't ask for, and never called when it was ready -- a recurring issue. The staff is friendly, but communication and reliability have seriously declined. It feels like they're too busy to care, and that's disappointing after being loyal customers for years.

Generally, I'm reluctant to give 5 stars to a business, because I can usually find some fault somewhere, but A-1 really deserves high praise. I was new to the area about two and half years ago, and had what I thought was a major problem with my truck A/C. Based on an ad on a restaurant menu that stood out, I took it to A-1. The owner, Beau, found the problem was a 53 cent part that was malfunctioning, and sent me on my way (very surprised, and happy). There was probably no better way to come to understand that this was a man, and business, built on integrity and honesty. For me, that would be more than enough to earn my repeat business, but over the past two years, Beau and the team at A-1 has also proven to be more than capable at diagnosing and repairing every issue I've had. He has ASE certification, and knows his stuff. His prices are more than fair, as well. This is as good as it gets, folks. I'm sorry to be leaving the area, because I truly trust this business, and it's owner. Do yourself a giant favor and give your business to this guy. Curtis

I will never again use this company, and do not recommend them…read more I took my car to A1 Car Repair in Eustis because my AC had suddenly stopped working. I was told there would be a diagnostic charge of about $125 and that it would take 2 or 3 days. The next day I received a link via text with a quote. The quote included the diagnostic charge, indicated that I needed a new battery (which would cost about $450 and included all of the hold down brackets and other parts that I can't imagine are really necessary), and a $15 quote for an AC clutch. I declined the overpriced battery but approved the AC clutch. The next day I received a text link with an invoice that indicated the work was completed; however, the invoice link only charged for the diagnostic charge (nothing for the AC repair). I called to get clarification and the owner said they could not complete the AC diagnostic unless I approved the battery replacement. I explained that I am not willing to pay $450 for a battery replacement. (He said that is the going rate, and I won't get a better price from anyone else. I am able to buy a high-quality battery for $250.) I TRIED to ask whether I could replace the battery myself and return to complete the diagnostic. He went completely off at me! He said, "I am not in the business of diagnosing problems and then people doing their own repairs!" He would not let me explain that I wanted them to do the AC work. I remained calm. I asked him to please listen to me and let me speak, but he was having none of it. I finally just hung up. There was no way for me to pay the diagnostic fee remotely, so I called back to pay it over the phone. The line was answered by an AI bot that indicated I was to leave my contact info and someone would call me back to receive my payment info. I had no way to know whether hackers had taken over their phone line and might call me to steal my CC info, so I was unwilling to use that system. I tried several times to contact them, each time the Bot answered. I suspect they were simply screening my call. Finally, I had my husband call. He was able to make payment over the phone. It turned out that they had reduced the diagnostic fee to around $65, which was appreciated. But it did not make up for the disrespectful and rude treatment I received from the owner.
