You don't want to be let down with mediocre or sub mediocrity in terms of food. This place really hit the mark. Like a total home run! Firstly it's a cracking good bakery with fresh artisanal bread. Secondly they do very high quality coffee. Thirdly they have sandwiches, soup and other great lunch items. My lunch I selected a seafood soup. It was rich, not salty and deliciously home made. Also as my ancestors must have come from the sea I had a Gaspesian smoked mackerel sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite some time. Like blew my mind how good it was. It was tiny morsels of smoked fresh fish, thin apple slices. Shredded cabbage and a very nice light dressing. Holy macaroni it was amazing. I'd never think I'd have a smoked mackerel sandwich but I may try to replicate it at home. To round off the meal I ordered a capucinno and it was totally on point. Creamy. Piping hot and strong yet not bitter. To bring back to the grand ville I brought back two loaves of bread. Crispy, crunchy and soft in the centre. You would think a cafe like this would be in the Mille end Montreal or on Ave McGuire in QC or in SOHO in NYC but it's wonderfully amazing! When I Think of the options of coming here or eating at a place like St Hubert it's clear in my mind where I'd rather spend my money!

The menu is simple with enough variety for most anyone including vegetarians. The crepes are the star of the menu and are a great choice. I'm not complaining, but the portions are not huge. They are good portions and well prepared, but not the big plates some places serve. The coffee program is all espresso when we visited in July 2023. Again, very good coffee. The staff was excellent and very helpful with the menu and choices, in French and in English. It's a change of pace from some of the other breakfast spots in the area and I hope it does well.

Jackpot!!! Their maple cookies in the refrigerated section are amazing! Homemade, not overly sweet and fresh! Also got a chocolate and raspberry desert. It was soooo good we thought we were in Paris. We kicked ourselves for only getting one. They were so friendly and kind! There was no question as to us stopping on the way back to Quebec City! Highly recommend this place. The exterior is like any Cabane you have ever visited in your life. However when you enter inside amazing bakery scents hit your senses and a boutique full of local and regional products is awaiting your discovery. As someone who loves food I very much enjoy discovering regional products and culinary treats. So when encountering a place like this (I need to shop wisely) or else I can buy up the whole store. Products offered are a wide selection of fresh baked goods and so many mouth watering treats. Of course many items with a big maple twist. You have maple candies, maple glazed cookies, maple cinnamon buns and the list goes on. The. There are jelly's jams, maple syrup and what I found most interesting (and rarely seen) products from The Magdelan islands. My favourite scores from the visit were the cinnamon buns with maple glaze and cookies with maple glaze. If you are a sweet tooth or maple-a-holic this place is for you! Prices are reasonable and everything looks and smells delicious.
