In your reply you say " from what you say in your post" as if I didn't email you directly before I made this post telling you of exactly what happened and attached a screenshot of the voicemail text, voice file of the voicemail, and screenshot of the text message I received from the same phone number identifying themselves as a FineCraft employee. From that, your only reply to me was "I don't recognize the voice". When I replied back and asked if you didn't recognize the phone number that it came from, there was no response from you until you created a response on Yelp. So, to sum this up for future readers, you were emailed and were made aware of this situation directly, but only decided to issue any semblance of ownership or apology for the situation once a potential customer brought this to your attention 6 months later. If this were truly an anomaly, I would think you could have responded directly to me back in January when I emailed you directly about what had transpired. read more

BLUF: Promising looking company, extremely hit or miss service, ultimately ghosted by the company The week ending November 18th (can't remember the specific day), I reached out to FineCraft to get a quote started on some updates and renovations to my kitchen and living room via their website. I received an email from (one of?) their business managers (Niko), asking a few scoping questions about the project(s). I responded within a few minutes of receiving that email and provided some loose design sketches and diagrams of the space. Niko provided a rough estimate and connected me with their scheduling team to get a site visit in place to provide a more accurate estimate. At this point, I was thrilled with them - consistent and cogent feedback, a coordinated process - this was the type of organization I had been looking for from a business that I'm preparing to spend a large sum of money and time with. I connected with Andrea from their scheduling team to get the visit on the calendar. It was during the week of Thanksgiving, so understandably, it took a few days for everyone to coordinate and set up a time that works. We land on the morning of December 7th (2 weeks away from the date at that time). The morning of December 7th comes, and I receive a text from one of FineCraft's Project Managers, Elvis, at 7AM that he's having car trouble ('dead truck battery') and wouldn't be able to make our appointment that day. While disappointing - he was communicative about the sudden obstacle. I asked him who I should reschedule with (him or Andrea) and he said he would handle scheduling. We rescheduled directly via text for December 12th in the early afternoon. The morning of December 12th comes and I haven't received any communication from Elvis - which at the time I took as a good sign. The time of our appointment rolls around and I send Elvis a text to let me know when he's parked so that I can let him in (my building can be confusing to some). I see a read receipt from his phone but no response. 15 minutes go by... still nothing from him. A full 30 minutes go by and I let him know that I'm sorry he wasn't able to make our scheduled appointment and hoped that everything was okay. I receive a text from him shortly after sending my message apologizing and an explanation about a sudden 'family emergency'. The 'read receipts' which had previously been on all of the previous texts had been turned off. At this point, this reeks of sketchy, and I'm hoping it's limited to Elvis. I emailed Niko, and CCed the scheduling team to let them know of everything that's transpired following the initial appointment scheduled with Andrea. I wanted to provide them with a last opportunity for the project, otherwise, I'll be moving on to another general contractor. I asked them to email me within 24 hours letting me know of their decision. About 30 minutes later I receive an email from Andrea apologizing and letting me know they would still like to pursue the project and would be following up with me before the close of business. , It is now December 18th and I haven't received any kind of communication from them since that last email from Andrea on 12/12. Unfortunately, at this point, they were a waste of my time and a disappointment. I'm sorry to say fellow yelpers reading this, that despite the high 'star rating' FineCraft has across multiple different sites - the reality doesn't match the marketing. Best of luck finding a trustworthy contractor - this one doesn't appear to be it. read more

It's unfortunate that their craftsmanship does not match their customer service and certainly does not live up to their name. We would have never had our bathroom renovation done by this company if we had known that they would not use a licensed plumber or electrician. It's only been three months since they completed the renovation and the bathroom caulk is falling apart or missing and nails are rusting through the walls. We also had to spend thousands of dollars to fix the sink drain clogged by their construction debris and which they continue to conveniently blame on the plumbing being old. Don't be fooled by all the great reviews. read more

From my early 2018 experience, the only professional and competent people with Finecraft are it's manual labor professionals. They take great pride in their work and saw what horrible work a sub had done, and in turn, they ended up correcting all sub mistakes. I had a long and horrendous experience with a renovation. Like another reviewer mentioned, they do not detail their proposals properly, so there is lots of room for misinterpretation in the direction of their favor. They ask for deposits of more than 1/3 (law is 1/3 start, 1/3 mid, 1/3 after walk thru, I later found out) and when confronted with mistakes, they made it appear that they would walk away from the project when they had most all of my money. They used an irresponsible, low end, low quality subcontractor who, put other clients of his business, ahead of the timing of my project with Finecraft. Finecraft seemed to be OK with the sub dictating the time frame, even thou my contract was with Finecraft, and named an end date in the contract. This resulted in a 6 week project becoming a 6 month project due to sub not starting the project off correctly according to filed plans. Finecraft's "Project Manager" still defended sub's work, even thou Finecraft's manual labor EMPLOYEES looked at my home with shock and surprise saying "this is not Finecraft quality". They were the saving grace in this entire project in my opinion. A true nightmare, and I would suggest not using Finecraft. read more

If I could give negative start, I would! Finecraft does not stand behind its work or its word; and the work is sloppy, incorrectly done or incomplete by most standards! Some on the crew are polite and excellent in their craft; however, I found, in general, the approach to my job by those in charge was to cut corners, roll their eyes at my requests or questioning of these cut-corners, and generally sloppy, incorrect, or incomplete work that they hoped I wouldn't notice. Did I mention use of cheap materials or incorrect finishes, surprise costs, a lack of attention to easily seen details? Three other customers of Finecraft on my street alone are experiencing the same thing (unfortunately, we all started our jobs around the same time and didn't realize we would have the same experience)! Similar to another reviewers, I've discovered defective workmanship since the "completion" of the job that could have been easily found if anyone, ANYONE had bothered to inspect their work, rather that hoping that I wouldn't catch it before their arbitrary warranty period ran out. (Yes, arbitrary warranty period: they decide when it starts without telling you, so you don' know when it's expired!) Meanwhile, I'm just waiting for the roof in my new room to fall through -- I question the integrity of everything Finecraft touched in the house. As others have noted, Niko does provide prompt and responsive contact during much of the active construction -- and he helped expedite the resolution of some of the on-going challenges I noted above. I was pretty open with him at the time about my dissatisfaction with the experience. Ultimately, he/Finecraft chose not to resolve issues that even he admitted should never have happened. read more

We selected Fine Craft for our home renovation project for several reasons, but two of the primary reasons were that: (1) their official estimate said they could complete the project in 4 months and (2) the promotional materials they provided said that we would have a project manager and a customer relations specialist assigned to our project that could answer our questions 24 hours a day. Boy were we disappointed! It took them 9 months to complete the project; they relied heavily on subcontractors who made major errors (such as cutting completely through a floor joist); made several errors themselves (like building a doorway that was taller on one side than the other); and in general were very unprofessional in how they communicated with us. It was miserable experience and I warn anyone thinking about hiring them to think twice! read more
