The staff was very helpful, and my colorist was extremely kind--despite being pregnant, she was full of energy. There are a one small details that should be corrected. For example, when you ask for a blow-dry, Luz seems hesitant to ask who her client is. There should be a board or some kind of system to notify the stylists who the client is. Other than that, Luz did an awesome job with my hair, and I will definitely come back again.

I'm also impressed that if you get something home and it doesn't work for your skin or hair that this establishment allows you to return it. My first appointment was unfortunately booked for the wrong day. Although the salon apologized and…read moreextended a 20% discount, I still had to wait an additional week for my haircut. The cut itself was acceptable, so I scheduled a roller-set service with the same stylist the following week. Prior to the appointment, I specifically asked the stylist whether she knew how to use tension rollers. She confirmed that she did, though she noted that I would need to bring my own rollers, pins, and setting lotion. However, midway through the appointment it became clear that she did not know how to perform the service. Even after I provided a demonstration video, she was unable to execute the technique. At that point, I was exhausted, disappointed, and disheartened. Compounding the issue, I had already been upcharged because my hair was described as having "texture"--despite being a combination of 3C and 3A. When I decided to pivot and simply have my hair blow-dried, flat-ironed, and curled, I was informed that curling would incur an additional fee because of my "textured" hair. I found this troubling, as I felt misled, targeted, and ultimately penalized for my natural hair type. When I asked whether every client with curly hair received this additional charge, the stylist said no--only those with "textured hair." Yet when I asked for a clear definition of "textured," her explanation was inconsistent and vague. The implication was unmistakable: the pricing structure appeared less about curl pattern and more about race. Ulta, whether intentional or not, the policy as it was explained to me functioned as a "Black tax." It is unacceptable, and for that reason, I will not return. Plus my hair looked like I had not been to the salon a few hours later.

We verified insurance would cove 100% of the cost. The sales person explained the process to us and had us pay in advance almost $7K. We left with one wig and one was to be ordered. It has been almost a month, we are still waiting on insurance paperwork to be filed. I have called multiple times and can not get anyone at Gayla to answer or return my call. The one time that I was able to speak to someone on the phone she said that she did not know how to do the insurance paperwork. I cannot get a straight answer, we still do not have both wigs and are out 7K. I wish we had gone somewhere else!

I purchased a wig for 2,700$ for full human hair, it started off fine. After three months the lace began to unravel. Badly. Way passed usual wear and tear, as lace fraying is normal. The hair came out in droves when I would care for it. Having dealt with wigs before I followed, all necessary care instructions to keep my wig at its best to no avail. The wig now is unusable, with several bald spots as pictured. I took very VERY good care of this wig. This was a lot of money for me to spend, and I am expected to get what I pay for in terms of quality when I spend that amount of money on a human hair wig not to have it collapse, after only five months of daily use and wear. I am upset this is how it turned out, but it is what it isI suppose. I did call the shop last month and asked if they did wig repair, to which they told me they do not do but to send it to the wig doctor online, and when I looked at prices, the repair of the wig would be about the same as my purchase of the wig. I feel bad writing a review for such lovely people, but the quality isn't there.
