I opened a Hawaiiusa account a long time ago because they were doing a promotion for teachers. I like that they offer things for teachers. This branch particularly has very nice tellers. The line can sometimes get long, but the tellers are fast and they're so friendly. They all seem to enjoy working here. I like the parking lot. I've never had to wait for a space. I don't have to pull a ticket like at the other downtown Hawaiiusa location, and I don't have to walk so far from my car to get to the doors like at the Ward location. I've never had issues with keeping my money here. I use the online site to check balances and transfer to other accounts. It's been a 10/10 experience using this bank and I would prefer to come to this location as opposed to all the other locations any day. They even have popcorn sometimes. I love popcorn.

After 5 days of waiting for the multiple micro transfers and completing every thing they told me the transfer couldn't be done because of a 5k$ limit. Even the app creates difficulties when adding external accounts. It has a needless requirement for you to log in with a pc AFTER a secondary password text. The options I was given for a transfer over 5k was to spend 40$ for a bank wire or spend MORE time figuring out where to mail a cashiers check. I am taking option 3 and closing the account tomorrow for free. I wish I closed the account sooner and not wasted a week of time. I am positive I will be spending less time overall opening an account elsewhere with a more progressive bank.

I made a rather large deposit. I had multiple questions about the deposit I was really calm but just wanted some answers which I got only half of it answered. I felt as though the teller was incompetent in her job at answering the questions. She perhaps is competent in doing regular deposits and withdrawals. The teller sitting next to her yelled out what I took as a smart alec response as I was leaving. "Have a nice Day". Seriously if you're thinking about doing business here look elsewhere. This is not the only bad experience that I have had with them. However I stayed with them. This is the last straw...!! People do not deserve to be treated in this manner. Despite the fact that everyone is still wearing masks, it just seems more personable, and it's nice to have that live interaction...perhaps now more than ever! The only 2 downsides to this location are the very limited parking--which is rarely a problem, because everyone gets in & out so quickly--and no shared branching, even for members. That 2nd issue is sometimes a problem for me, as I belong to a couple of different credit unions, most of whom offer shared branch transactions at all of their locations. By the time I get off from work and head back home, my usual go-to location at Kamehameha Shopping Center would have closed and I'd have to wait until Saturday for banking. Conveniently located in Kaimuki Shopping Center, this ASB has notable neighbors of Long's Drugs and Times Supermarket. And who cannot forget The Cookie Corner, a few doors down from ASB. The smell of the freshly baked goodies makes you go "Hmmmmmmmm..." What's are the best things about this location? Ample parking and customer service. I've only been here about half-a-dozen times and the customer service is pretty good. The staff are young and energetic. They make you feel special as they greet you and they also smile. To me, it seems that this location is underutilized, or, I come at great times because it's a quick in-and-out for me. My errands are usually single transaction and because I have my documentation completed prior to standing in line, the time spent at the window is very minimal. Compared to other ASB locations, the Kaimuki Branch on Waialae seems to be on the smaller side. I've noticed they considerably have much less tellers and staff. However, it's the quality of service that's key and they are doing a great job in my opinion. I'm a satisfied ASB customer and glad this branch offers above average service.
