The estimate was comprehensive, accurate, and more competitive than the other 2 vendors I contacted (including Home Depot). John took the time to answer all of my questions during the walkthrough and his knowledge on the subject really came through. Our conversations on product recommendations were very nuanced and I learned a ton. My HOA is really picky about soundproofing, and he was able to provide all needed evidence to prove PPF's recommended soundproofing was superior than their requirements in order gain approval for the installation. After the install, I had a punch list with some minor items and all were remediated without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Throughly impressed by the experience I had with Oakerds…read more After a slew of bad experiences trying to rehab my 1920s house, I was at my wits end. One of my final projects was to replace my unsightly hardwood and tile floors with LVP. I got several quotes from small and large companies; some who made the job seem like it would be impossible because my house was old and had its issues. Every company that came, pointed out a slant in the floor, a dent, or patch of missing hardwood- all of which would increase the cost of the final project. Some companies also required me to hire someone else to move all the furniture out of my home first. When Alex from Oakerds came out he did a thorough inspection of the job and gave me a price that was lower than most other companies. I was shocked at how smooth the estimate went. He quickly problem-solved each of the problem areas in my home and didn't make a big deal about how each issue would increase the price. He simply gave me a fair quote and explained my options. The most surprising part is that he encouraged me to check out offers from other companies and let him know how Oakerds could "earn my business!" This was a stark difference from the other companies who tried to pressure me into making a decision on the spot. Oakerds scheduled me quickly after I made a decision and my floors were done within a day. I was pleasantly surprised by how seamless the process was. They figured out how to move my furniture around while doing the floors, which saved me the effort of clearing out my house. Alex even recommended a plumber to fix a toilet issue that arose while they were doing my bathroom floors. All of these problems were solved without me having to be on site. I also appreciated that they offered financing options. Overall I highly recommend

Mike's team -- Igor and his brother -- were so positive. They saw every challenge as an opportunity to make the project better. The crew sanded the entire floor three times with finer grits each time, making for a very smooth surface to stain and finish. The stain was furniture-grade, as was the final finish. Let me explain that this was our second attempt to refinish our hardwoods floors. Originally, we went with another company recommended by a neighbor. The estimate was cheaper, and we thought we could save a few bucks. Boy did we make a mistake. We were out of our house for a week, returning only to find a sub-standard job with damage to our house. We were heartbroken, and it was a costly mistake not to go with M.S. Construction Services first. Don't make the same mistake we did -- hire these guys first. When we contacted Mike, he was out of the country, but responded quickly and scheduled his crew for the very next week. They moved all the furniture carefully, and they pulled off all the old shoe-moldings. Then they spent most of the first two days meticulously sanding our entire main level. Then they applied the stain, and this is where the artistry comes in. Igor used a special technique to get the grain of the existing boards to absorb the stain in a way that makes it darker than the surrounding wood -- it really 'pops' and makes the original floors look very high-grade. They not only fixed all the problems created by the previous contractor, M.S. Construction Services came up with elegant solutions to things that had bothered us since we bought the house years ago. Igor carefully carved out a thin layer of the base of our kitchen cabinets to slide the floor register underneath it. It looks so good! I can't stress enough the attention to detail. The shoe moldings they use are high grade, and they cut them to exacting measurements for a perfect fit. They also nail them tight to the wall so little if any caulk is necessary between the two. We wake up every morning and just marvel at the workmanship and the artistry. These are good people who really take pride in their work. We even accidentally overpaid on the final check -- Mike caught it, told us, and allowed us to write a new check for the lower amount. That is integrity. Bottom line: don't hire anyone else, even if you think you might save a little money. You'll regret not going with M.S. Construction Services. We got more than our money's worth!

He followed up consistently and even completed the work on a Saturday. I had a question about the floor, and he came out again (from Brookhaven all the way to Exit 13, before heading to Dunwoody) just to make sure everything was right. He was amazing in every aspect: the quality of the work, communication, timeliness (I was the one running late, and he was so gracious), he is just kind and easygoing, so knowledgeable and his patience with my payment and all the details I asked about. He's a true professional. If we ever switch to LVP in the future or need additional repairs, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out again. Thank you, Herik, for helping me on such short notice. As you can see, he achieved a perfect floor match--even though the previous stain was a blend of three different Minwax colors. The floor he worked on was engineered wood and it had already been refinished at least twice and was damaged due to water underneath that caused it to warp. He did an amazing job with the match and stain and you cannot tell it was ever damaged. His quote was very fair too and he does amazing tile work/shower renovations too. Highly, highly recommended!

Poor workmanship. Poor communication. A frustrating and, at times, genuinely unsafe experience…read more What initially felt like a company we could trust turned into a project we wish we had never hired them for. If you value your time, money, home, and peace of mind, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The work on our floors and dry wall required multiple return visits. After the second flooring visit, we told them the floor was still uneven and that the vinyl continued to pop up. On the third visit, a team member stepped on the area that was popping up and said, "There's nothing wrong!" After we insisted they open the floor, we discovered that cardboard packaging from the vinyl floor boards had been used underneath the floor to address the leveling issue... When we finally thought the flooring was finished, another problem surfaced. The trim at the top of our staircase that had been installed only about two weeks earlier came loose, and I fell down the stairs as a result. We then discovered that our replacement dry wall was visibly uneven and not flush with the existing wall. Even after their team came back to work on it, the transition was still not flush, if not worse! Regardless of whether subcontractors were involved, we hired Into The Woods to ensure the work was completed properly and ultimately hold them responsible. On top of having to repeatedly identify problems that should have been caught through proper supervision and quality control, the most frustrating part has been communicating with Into the Woods direct team members, especially their owner, Shamus. We constantly felt like our concerns were minimized and dismissed. Even if the work had been perfect, the interactions with the company throughout this entire process made us wish we never signed anything with them. *Additional Review After Owner's Response* Unfortunately, Shamus' response to my review is itself a reflection of our experience with Into The Woods. Throughout the project, our concerns were repeatedly reframed rather than addressed. We were reassured that issues would be taken care of, only to find them unresolved on subsequent visits. When we continued to speak up, we often felt our words were misconstrued, our concerns minimized, and the burden shifted back onto us. The response emphasizes that the company made 7-8 return visits. But the number of visits does not mean the work was properly completed. In fact, having to repeatedly request corrections is exactly what made this experience so frustrating. Many of those visits were to address warranty or punch-list issues that should have been resolved as part of completing the original work. I also want to correct the characterization of the financial accommodations. The nearly $10,000 shortfall was not covered by Into The Woods as a "good-faith discount." The remediation company that referred us to Into The Woods chose to cover the additional costs after we shared our negative experience with Into the Woods. They asked Into The Woods to go above and beyond to restore our home, and we are genuinely grateful to the remediation company for stepping in to help make things right. Separately, Shamus offered us a $1,000 "gesture of goodwill," which we declined. This offer came after we discovered cardboard packaging from the flooring underneath our floor. The stair-nose explanation in the response is particularly frustrating. The response leaves out the fact that approximately two weeks had passed since its installation. When the stair nose came loose, we photographed the underside and found a substantial amount of adhesive that appeared not to have properly bonded. The company subsequently returned to repair it. We don't expect construction to be completely free of problems. We do expect a contractor to listen to concerns, supervise the work, communicate accurately, and make sure problems are actually resolved. This experience cost us an enormous amount of time, frustration, and peace of mind. After everything we've experienced, we would not hire Into The Woods again, and we hope prospective customers consider our experience before making their decision.

Jason and his team replaced existing hardwood flooring and removed carpet and replaced with hardwood flooring. It started out as one project, but ended up being some additional needed projects. Jason is not only the owner but a great project manager. He presented options to us and let us make the best decision for us. While he gave his opinion, he was not pushy or overbearing. He engaged the right people to do the work and oversaw each project. He always kept us in the loop of what was going on and worked around our schedule to get the work done. Even when the project was done, he noticed one area that was not to his liking and had the work redone. We'd noticed it too, but he was proactive and took action before we had to say anything. Kudos to one of the workers on his team, Giacomo. Giacomo was the master craftsman who redid our stairs and custom designed and built a new awning for us. The awning was not a planned project, but came about as Jason aimed to solve an ongoing issue we had with water damage at the entry way. The work Giacomo did was top notch. His attention to detail is admirable. He is truly dedicated to his job and does excellent work. If you're looking for someone who's customer-focused, dependable, professional and just overall great to work with, Jason and Integrity Flooring of Georgia are the way to go. I will use them again for the next flooring project we have. Thank you to Jason, Giacomo and the rest of the team for a job well done.
