But in the end I kick myself because it wasn't. Expect change orders. Craftmanship was poor and every time we asked him to make it look right and make it look nice for our custom home, he wanted to charge us extra for it. If you own rentals or are a property manager and just need things slapped together, sure he will do that. It was a big transformation, and we're thrilled with how everything came together. The spaces feel beautiful, open, cohesive, and so much more enjoyable to live in. Dan communicated with us honestly and clearly. He did a great job managing our expectations on timelines and issues that arose throughout the process. Dan has an extremely high level of integrity and he delivered on the project from bringing to end. Dan's crew was wonderful to work with, they were respectful and kept the work areas clean. They took a lot of pride in their work, and it shows in the finished result. It means a lot to walk into your home and love what you see. This full service contractor has done two jobs for me. First he remodeled a granny flat on my…read moreproperty and did an exceptional job on a budget. Worked fast and completed the project early because Dan knew I had a short deadline. After I saw how good he was, I hired him for a Second much bigger job that was a complete demo of my kitchen and full remodel, including cabinets, countertops, etc. The end result was better than I ever dreamed. Here's what makes Dmb stand out from the rest. Dan was refreshingly transparent and honest with ALL aspects of my project. No BS. Once into the project, he suggested a couple of changes from the original plan that greatly enhanced the final look of my kitchen. He also convinced me to change my countertop product to a less expensive material that would be easier to upkeep and still look great. Saved me several thousand dollars on that one! I liked communicating with Dan because he is first and foremost a professional, explains things clearly (sometimes over and over for me to fully comprehend), and is so patient and kind hearted. During the entire process, he often said he wanted me to be happy with the results of any decision I made and he would do whatever it took to make that happen. When I became anxious, he would patiently reiterate my choices and help guide me to what the final result would look like. That helped me make decisions that I ultimately loved. And his crew is fantastic. He has assembled a skilled team of guys who emulate many of the same caring characteristics that Dan possesses. His prices are reasonable--he's not cheap nor is he out of the ballpark expensive. He consistently maintained a cost conscious approach towards me as his customer. I highly recommend him for any outside or inside construction project--full service or smaller needs....Dan can do it all.

After tons of research and 10 interviews, Coast to Coast was the obvious choice. Their in-house insurance specialist/project manager setup is a well-oiled machine. I'm very particular about quality, and whenever I raised a concern, it was addressed quickly and properly. Minimal surprises, flexible throughout, and genuinely easy to work with. I'd absolutely use Coast to Coast again for their insurance expertise, reputation, and service.

Casey gave me a rundown of what needed to be completed and even caught some things others didn't which was absolutely crucial. He also handled my insurance company so I could get enough coverage for the work that needed to be done. The insurance was very resistant, but they finally caved thanks to Casey. David was the absolute best in overseeing my bathroom restoration. He communicates in a timely manner and is very thorough with his work. I was told I would need my vanity replaced but I wanted to keep the old vanity top. David went out of his way to find the exact dimensions so that there would be no fuss. There was trouble when I ordered the vanity from home depot, but David was able to find the exact same vanity for a similar price and really came through for us. He is also a very friendly and personable individual. I highly recommend working with David. Overall everyone in Coast to Coast Restoration was excellent to work with and though I hope nothing like this ever happens again, I will only be calling them if anything ever happens in the future.

From there, TJ, Matthew and Mike took care of everything - lining up architects, engineers, soil engineers, etc.. to help our dream home become a reality. They checked in with us often and really helped put our minds at ease even though we live in North California. At one point, we received a notice that we needed to do fire mitigation on our land that has protected sage brush. TJ and Matthew immediately took care of the problem by calling the agency involved. Sadly, the pandemic priced us out of our dream home but the experience with had with MLA has been amazing. He showed up as promised and gave me a written quote an hour or so later. He came with a workman, Nazario, in a couple days who did the patches - expertly and even redid one that I hadn't noticed where the A/C company (a big name that I won't mention) did a bad job on. Benjamin then came two days later with a second workman, Santiago, who did the fogging on the patches. Benjamin was here in person for both days both at the beginning and at the end of the job. He is a good communicator. He said that no job is too small which is good to hear because we all have small fixes that need doing. He started as a handyman and now has his contractor's license, so he can do about anything. Both Santiago and Nazario did near perfect work as far as I can tell. I am more than pleased with their expertise, promptness, fair price, dependability, and communication skills.

Though it was a residential renovation, the…read moresize and scope of the project resembled a small commercial project: down-to-the-studs demo, blowing out walls, commercial-grade roofing, large solar array with Tesla energy storage, 400 amp electrical, new all-electric, plumbing and HVAC. At the outset, we met with most of the big-name general contractors in San Diego and several boutique firms and did not feel comfortable with any of them; we felt we would be treated impersonally and mechanistically. I reached out to an old friend - co-founder of a major construction firm, whose own homes have been beautifully designed and built with extraordinary craftsmanship - for a recommendation. He said, "The guy you want is Scott Sullivan, if you can get him. I trust him for all my personal home projects." We did... and we were delighted with the results. Our project was completed when promised and within budget... but exceeded our expectations. The Sullivan Pacific crew was professional, reliable, and courteous. We enjoyed having them build our home. Scott's and his team's best traits are: * Reliability: Scott delivers what he promises, without fail and without excuses. When suppliers, supply chains, and vendors fail, Scott finds a way to pull through. * Precision: Scott takes an exacting approach to every detail of a project. He measures everything more than twice and There won't be a light fixture, overhead beam, or a barn door that's a 1/8th off; * Resourcefulness: Our project took place during the COVID pandemic; the availability of materials and labor were both unpredictable and yet Scott found ways to keep the project rolling. * Experience: Scott's done and seen everything, he thinks 20 moves ahead to preempt problems and has a material engineer's knowledge of construction materials and processes. * Enthusiasm: Scott loves his work and it shows. He genuinely wants to please his clients and makes their dream his dream. Yes, he owns the business; but his inner craftsman makes him quick to jump in to do the dirty work, too. His passion for his client projects is palpable and compelling. We hired Scott again in 2026, when we replaced one of our gas fireplaces with electric. It required a floor-to-ceiling false wall that was reangled to better align with the ambience of the room. It took about a week with demo, construction, electrical, drywall, mudding, and painting; it turned out even better than we'd hoped... and just a little under budget. Bottom line: Scott is what in the business world we'd call a Get-Shit-Done guy. He's not big on ceremony and drama, just results. You can rest assured that your project is in great hands, and there will be no unpleasant surprises.

We conducted our remodeling effort in two phases with the first focusing on the kitchen, family room and living room and the second on the hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms. The bathrooms were completely remodeled/redesigned with plumbing changes and wall modifications. The flooring in the entire house was replaced with porcelain tile. New baseboards, window casings, closet doors, and windows were added. The Youngren team worked with us from beginning to end (design, permitting process, material selection, demolition, construction, final inspection) and proved to be very flexible when we requested changes as the worked progressed. One of the most positive aspects of Youngren is that they utilize very professional and reliable subcontractors who worked with us (and the Youngren Supervisor) to fine tune and adjust what we wanted.
