I just wished that maybe they would cut up two pieces of catfish instead of one for the nuggets, but it was only five dollars so you can't really beat that deal and it comes. I would definitely say my server could have done a better job and we got most of the things that we needed from Other service there because she was pretty absent however, overall our experience was a four out of five. I've been for happy hour a few times. If you get there I'd say before 6 the music level is ok, especially during the weekday. After 6, expect to have to yell at the person next to you. My friends have tried attending and found the music level too loud & left. If it's supposed to be a restaurant, then maybe save the loud music til after 9 for the club vibe? ‍ We came for dinner Sunday, 7/27/25. There was a good mix of R&B & hip hop, with more R&B, I'd say. My husband, "can't do boopity-boo," and was able to hang in there until bingo. I'l come back to that. I ordered the Baldwin Hills, which was fruity, but strong. The bartenders need to get on the same page tho, because the 1st one was definitely better than the 2nd one. I'm from LA & Baldwin Hills is above the area where I grew up, so I had to represent with that drink. Normally, I'm a whiskey/bourbon lady, but vodka is my white liquor preference so I was good. The food is good. We started with the jerk chicken eggrolls. It was definitely fried hard, or maybe refried from earlier? Idk. It was not as light as the picture. Due to the lighting & how hard they were fried, I had to do some editing to make them visible. The server said they weren't too spicy. They come in 4 pieces. The 1st piece I had was definitely mild. My husband said they had a kick when he bit into his, but I didn't get that...that is until I had the 2nd one! Whew! All the spice was in that piece! I'd say slightly spicier than a little kick. They were tasty tho. We both waited a while for our entrees. The table next to us, also only with a couple had their food come out before ours, though they came in as we were finishing our appetizer I think. We'd already placed our entree order by the time they came. The server apologized for the delay on our food and said it would be out in a few minutes. It was more like 10-15 minutes before they brought out his entree. The person who brought it out, maybe the manager?, said she didn't want his food to get cold waiting on mine to come out. It took another 10-15 minutes, if not longer, for my food to come out, with no explanation. My husband ordered the fried catfish entreè with spinach & rice pilaf. He enjoyed his food. His only issue was not having 2 fillets. As you can see the piece you get is sizable, soooo, if you have a big appetite, maybe also get the catfish on the happy hour too to supplement the meal. ‍ I'm trying to get into salmon & the honey bourbon salmon was good. It wasn't overly sweet and it didn't taste fishy, like salmon sometimes can. The spinach is good also. I had to send the potatoes back because they were not hot. As long as I waited for my food, I wasn't expecting lukewarm food. The server quickly brought out some hot potatoes and they were good. They have bingo on Sunday night @ 8; or at least it was 8-something that's night. Initially, the dj said it was an R&B bingo, but when the bingo paper was passed out, it had hip hop on it too. I'm familiar with some hip hop, but don't know all the artists' names, lol. It was still fun, but I knew I probably wasn't going to win lol. We sang during the songs (had to ID the artist on the bingo card), and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I'm glad to have this option in Douglasville and glad it's still here after a few years when some other restaurants have closed. They are also open late, which is good, as most restaurants in the area close at 9 or 10. I'd ask the owner to consider a grown and sexy night or an over 35 night with good R&B music that's played at a level that can be enjoyed and allowed conversation to flow. A line dance night would also be good. I met the owner when the 1st location in Atlanta opened on Edgewood. It just so happened we had family in town visiting from LA. They gave him the business lol about the drink names and the place, but really enjoyed the vibe. I'm glad to see the business flourishing and in multiple states. I wish continued success and that there will be some acceptance of the feedback provided. read more

I'm a frequent customer at this restaurant, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I recently dined in and also ordered food to go. While eating in, everything seemed fine, but once I got home and opened my to go plate, I found a roach inside my food. I immediately contacted the restaurant and spoke with the manager. His response was very disappointing he showed no real concern and simply said "oh wow" before asking for the ticket number to issue a partial refund. When I asked if he wanted to see a picture for proof, he said no and claimed he trusted my word. The lack of urgency, concern, and professionalism was extremely unsettling, especially given the seriousness of the situation. Finding a roach in food is completely unacceptable, and the way it was handled made it even worse. As someone who has supported this place regularly, this experience has completely changed my perspective. This was a long drive out Highway 20 west towards Douglasville. The parking lot sits in a big plaza and was convient to walk right in and be seated. Bar seating and tables. The service was VERY slow which I didn't understand bc there were not that many people in and we sat at the bar. It took the bartender a long time to come over and advise the menu was on QR then took a long time for her to come back and take the order. The food did make up for the long wait time so glad it was worth it. Tried the chicken and waffles and lemon pepper wings. The waffle had like nutmeg in it and was delicious. Let me start by saying that this was actually my 3rd time visiting this restaurant. I love bringing my out-of-town friends and family to this spot because it feels soooo ATL and the food is really good. Unfortunately, third time was NOT a charm! Let me start with the good... I made a reservation for 3:30 pm on Fathers Day! I was nervous they would be packed but surprisingly they were not! When we got there we were sat immediately! The next thing that is a plus is that the food is always so flavorful!! Kudos to the chef! Also, the manager and our server were nice. Sadly, It went downhill from there. After waiting for 30 minutes and watching two tables on each side of ours get serviced, when they came in 10-15 minutes after us, I waved someone down and asked if we were going to get service. A very nice young lady came to our table and told us she was not our server but she would take our order. After having waited so long, we ordered drinks and food! By 4:30 we finally had our food! Did I mention our reservation was at 3:30 and yes we were on time! Now, it was my fault for not reading the menu better. But I ordered the French Toast and assumed it came with eggs. Nope! For $16 you get bread and bacon! So, I ordered a side of grits and eggs, which was taking so long to come out that I actually went and spoke with the manager. I'm not sure if they had to cook a new pot of grits or wait for the chicken to lay the eggs but at this point I was tired, hungry, and very disappointed! After approximately 20 minutes or more we got our sides to go! Now, maybe it was the fact that it was Father's Day and there were no men at our table that our service was horrible! The tables we were sandwiched between had men diners so maybe that's why their service was so swift! I also noticed that one of tables had guests that were friends with a male that worked there because he came over twice and dapped them up! All while, we're sitting there just waiting for a head nod! But I guess when they automatically add a 20% gratuity to the check, there is no once to be effective, efficient, or expedient! Needless to say, I'm not sure I'll be back. I definitely won't bring my out of town guests anymore. This was not a good look! Plus my guest did not like her French Toast sandwich and actually sent it back. The table was a bit small for food, drinks, etc. But next time I will request a booth. Our waitress, Bree was just absolutely amazing! We ordered the unlimited mimosas. If you get there before noon, it is only $10 per person. If you get there after noon, it's $20 per person. You can choose from regular, pineapple, or peach. Listen, go with the peach.
