Met my adult daughter for Taco Tuesday and we decided on this spot. The food was great, the drinks were awesome and the service was excellent. I had two recent great experiences at Casa Jalisco that made me very glad to give them a shot. The service both times was good. The food was made fresh and hot, including the free chips and salsa. Our waiters were attentive, mindful of refill needs and detail oriented. Both times we ordered street style tacos and they were affordable AND flavorful. I tried pescado (fried fish), chicken & carne asada (steak). I really enjoyed them all, especially with the house hot sauce and lime. My first experience was about an 75 minutes before they closed (Friday night) and the second experience was around 5:30 on a Saturday. The earlier evening experience was better, but both were good enough to make me want to return soon! What can I say, I LOVE tacos. I recommend if you are in this area. read more

Pros The food is good and they give great portion sizes for the price. Cons The queso is not thick and flavorful. It is more watery and thin. Went to Casa Jalisco on Cinco De Mayo. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted. Although it was very busy, it did not take long to be seated. The restaurant is decorated nicely and well kept. The service was good and staff members were very polite and attentive. A colorful, Tex-Mex Cantina that seems to offer over 100 different items for every Mexican food lover in the Casa. Our table was covered with unlimited Chips & Salsa to hold us over before our food came out. Maybe 10 minutes & the arrival of the Chimichangas, Enchiladas, Chicken Wings - not a Mexican staple yet a popular item & my Veggie Fajitas making the breaking of the bread muy bien. You will not be disappointed with the prices as the portions provide more than enough to take home & then some. Service was attentive with a friendly team of employees supporting each other to accommodate the guests that were spread out. The first thing that I noticed, is that the rice is not fresh. It's almost as if the rice is from yesterday. The second immediate thing that I noticed while eating my enchiladas Verdes is that unfortunately the food is completely Luke warm which is odd because there's not a huge crowd here at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a Monday. Decent taste, nothing to get excited about. I really do wish that I could give it a better rating because it is local to my immediate area. Maybe I'm spoiled because I've just recently visited Los Angeles? The atmosphere is really clean, and the servers are very kind. This place had a Jalisco queso (which had shrimp, chicken and steak) But this establishment also has BARILLAS‼‼ quesabarilla to be exact My wife had the shrimp fajita and has NEVER had that many shrimp on a plate before ... her exact words "they not skimping on the shrimp at all" Margarita was perfect and the salsa comes in a little wine flute and it's hot and not hot at the same time lol They're menu was that of a Cheesecake Factory (it had a 1000 pages in it) I'll be back and next time I'll take pictures ... my wife corrected me and said "we'll be back" in our Arnold Schwarzenegger voice (that was lame; I'm full lol) Kenia was our server and she knew everything about the menu!! This is a much welcomed addition to the Chapel Hill neighborhood. Located across from Chapel Hill Elementary in The Shoppes at Chapel Hill, Casa Jalisco replaces the old Tony's Mexican Restaurant. At first glance, you can tell that it's gonna be a hit! The Owners did a wonderful job at renovation the place and making it feel more like a place you'd like to eat, drink, and have a great time. It was near closing time when I arrived, so I ordered to go. The staff was pleasant and it didn't take long for my food to arrive. I was pleased with the food and the pricing and will definitely be back. I'll update my review after checking them out a few more times. read more

Very rarely do I give a restaurant a bad review. Normally, I just don't go back. However, with this restaurant I had to give it a bad review. I'm new to the Douglasville area, so from time to time, I drop into this spot to pickup to go meals when everything else is closed. However, today I decided to sit down and eat. The food is at best mediocre. But, what can you really expect from an low end establishment. Tonight, I ordered a simple #1 combo. The cost was $11.50. I ordered a side of sour cream, $.75 and a sweet tea for $2.95. I'm expecting the total to come around $15. I was just going to leave the waitress the rest of the money left from a $20 bill. However, when I looked at the receipt, per the attached image, they charged me for a coke and a sweet tea. I originally ordered a sweet tea. After drinking the tea(free refills), I decided it was a little sweet, so when the waitress ask me if I wanted another refill, I said no, just give me a coke(also free refills) instead. After I looked at the receipt, I informed the waitress that she charged me for a tea and coke. She stated that they are two different drinks. I said, but they are both $2.95 with free refills, so I don't understand why I'm paying a extra charge(I knew in the back of my mind). Now, this is where everything went south...... She went and told another worker in the establishment that I didn't want to pay for the coke. Mind you, it wasn't a big deal, the price was only $2.95, but it's the principal of the matter. If both drinks have free refills and cost the same, why should I pay extra? This is not the norm in the restaurant industry. When I ask them if I had ordered a Coke and then later a sprite as a refill instead of another coke, would they have charged me for two drinks? They stated that they would!!! I was really confused then. So, I ask if I would have ordered a tea and lemonade mix, would they have charged to two drinks as well and they stated that they would!!! Because tea is one drink and lemonade is another in their rationale. I will never support this establishment again. The management and everyone came up to the counter to protest and co-sign with the waitress on the charge, so evidently, I suspect that they had already talked about the charge. I told the gentleman that cashed me out that I'd do a Yelp review. He stated for $2?? So, I asked, why did you allow this situation and bad review to happen for $2?? I'm a business owner myself and I've owned 3 businesses for over 20 years. It wasn't the money it was the principal..... But, what's more troubling to me was, why did they act the way they acted about the two dollars..... I'll let people ponder that thought..... read more

This place was recommended in a Facebook group I'm in. So my girlfriend and I went today for lunch. It's nice inside, clean etc. The service was great. But the food.. mediocre. I had to ask for several different hot sauces to give it flavor. Very bland. The prices were great in my opinion. I got a fajita Texana.. which normally runs about 16-20 at most places, it was $9.95 here so that was pleasing! So scratch it off my Douglasville bucket list but idk if i would go back! I ordered the Quesadilla Verde with a side of fresh jalapeños. The chicken was seasoned well and not dry. Everything was fresh and I was impressed. The meal was prepared in a reasonable time and was hot upon reaching the table. I'm so glad that I didn't allow the reviews to hinder my visit, after all, I will return. VEGETARIANS (And Vegans): DO NOT TRUST this place. They have a whole "vegetarian menu" which was a relief as it's probably one of few in the area. The mushroom tacos I had tonight literally had remnant chunks of steak and pork in it!! This spot is liek 5 min away from house. It used to be Tony's grill of something like that. They have upgraded the name to casa Jalisco. Their service is great! I chose this place cause I saw it was new and close to the house. The ambiance is very new, nice, modernized, up to date. However, the food wasn't so good. We ordered chicken tacos with corn shells, they brought out hard corn taco Shells ( like the ones from Taco Bell) the chicken was huge pieces, not shredded, or grilled how it suppose to be. The chicken soup is a hidden jem! We love everything else too but anytime I'm feeling under the weather I get the chicken soup. It's chicken broth with rice, chicken, cilantro, lime, small diced up jalapeños and topped with LOTS of avocado chunks. It's a generous portion. We have resided in douglasville since 1990. On 3/31/23 we decided to eat at this location for dinner. We were seated at 16:45 and our drink orders were taken right away ( waters ). After 5 minutes chips and salsa was served. We waited another 20 minutes and still no food order was taken and no one approached our table. At that time the staff seated another couple directly behind our booth and immediately took their drink orders. Their drinks ( mixed ) came out promptly and the waiter commenced at taking their order. I interrupted the waiter and in an attempt to advise him we had been waiting 20 minutes and he told me he'd be with me in a minute and continued taking the other couples order.
