Today I was out running errands and decided to meet with some friends for lunch and they suggested that restaurant. This was my first time dining here upon entering I immediately was greeted with a warm hello and as we walked to our table I was admiring the decor and warm ambiance of the establishment. Our waitress promptly greeted us with menus ready to take our order with chips and salsa. The menu offered so many cuilanary delights it was hard to choose so I had to ask for suggestions I selected the Max Mora sandwich which was a combination of beef ham cheese and eggs with lettuce tomatoes onions and cheese. The picture of this sandwich did not do it justice this sandwich was huge it was served with fries and cut in half I knew that I would require a to go box because it was no way I could finish this sandwich I didn't know expect to see a food bot bringing our food order to the table it was so cool! To top it off the menu prices were very reasonable I highly recommend this establishment. read more

I came into this place looking for some good Barria tacos with the wife and found the place to be very uncomfortable. The staff were looking at us like we didn't belong. I never got this from other Mexican restaurants so the whole experience was odd. No great customer service the food was better than average. read more

Foods decent and to an extent very authentic! This use to be my moms and I go to spot however, after today I doubt I'll go back. We usually order online to pick up but today I wanted to treat my parents and took them to dine in. After getting a few to boxes I had to run out to take a quick call. My dad stayed back and paid . to our surprise there was a processing fee of 4% To use a card !! It was on disclosed on the receipt , however nowhere else in the restaurant. My one star review is not about the processing fee more so about the customer service I had . While asking for a copy of my receipt and asking about the processing fee another worker whom I was not talking to started to interrupt my conversation with other worker telling me the processing fee is from the bank not the restaurant. I understand it's a small family business and these fees help with outputting some of the Cost in running said business I just wish we would have known or it was disclosed somewhere before we got sat I would have paid Cash or gone somewhere else. read more

One of my favorite spots to eat in Atlanta area but service was blah tonight, food was ok but not their usual quality as far as taste, ambiance was no different , and there shouldn't have been a reason for it to be subpar being that there was only one other table the entire time I dined in. Overall they didn't reach the standard they set in my past experiences here. Still will be back. read more

My neighborhood Mexican spot. Family owned. Clean. Even the restrooms are clean. Good selection of beers liquors and mixed drinks. You know the good is good when you see all our Hispanic hommies dining there. They have happy hour specials on Tuesdays & Thursday's but it's really not needed since the prices are so good. We had 3 beers Enchiladas supremo- beef, chicken, and cheese) beef Chile pobalono relleno and beef enchilada. Our bill was $40 and we still had left overs! Always wondered why two Mexican restaurants are next door to each other on Veterans Memorial highway. Who was there first and which restaurant serves the better food. Don't know the answers yet but I've started my investigation last night by going to Ranchero. I ordered a dish named after the restaurant with all kinds of stewed meats and tortillas, my husband got his usual burrito. The food was yummy and The portions were huge! We will be eating Mexican for a couple of days at least. They also provided salsa and chips with our take out order. This restaurant caters to locals. Nothing fancy at all but I believe the food is authentic based on the clientele. They need to work on the decor but they had live music which was cool. Don't know if this would be my Fun Saturday night destination But if you do take out and don't want chain food Mexican flavor Give it a try. read more

I decided to try this place on the recommendation of a co-worker. I grew tired of all the non-authentic / gringo-fied Mexican places near my office. I had heard this place fit the bill rather nicely if one is in the mood for inexpensive and authentic Mexican food in the Smyrna / Mableton area. Located (less than ten minutes from my office) on Veterans Memorial Dr. near Concord Rd. On the day I went (Thursday) they had a fajitas lunch special for $7. I ordered that and got a mix of shrimp, steak and chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at the large portion and high quality for $7! The fajita platter came with all the usual accompaniments: rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, pico di gallo, guacamole, and choice of flour or corn tortillas. I usually get the corn version (if given the choice) and those tasted home-made. The meal also included chips and salsa (which is unusual at an authentic Mexican establishment that typically caters to the local Mexican / Latino market). Most of the Mexican places around town - especially those that cater to the gringo market - include chips and salsa. Conversely, whenever I go to the authentic places that cater mostly or exclusively to Mexican / Latinos, I typically expect to get the free chips with salsa. As such, I am pleasantly surprised in the rare instances in which chips and salsa are included in the price of the meal (when I do not expect them). The food was fantastic and a steal at the price. The service and atmosphere are above average for this area of town. I will be back to try other daily specials. This place is a hidden gem. read more

An awesome Mexican place! We went here by mistake one day when we were trying to go to the Mexican place next door - El Solecito - only 10 feet away. Rancho is not as popular as their neighbor, although after eating here, you'll have no idea why. The food is fresh, tastes great, and comes in sizable portions. And it's inexpensive! My friends and I ordered the namesake, El Rancho Molcajete - a giant stone bowl filled with grilled beef, quail, goat(!), pork and cheese and veggies. They even have lobster soup and sometimes fresh oysters (We were a little leery of these at first but tried them and they were good!). The only things that are a con to this place are no draft beer, which is no biggy, and that they play jukebox mariachi/polka music WAY too loud. Still, worth putting up with that for the food. I hope they stay around for many years to come. read more

Visiting Six Flags Over GA and we were looking for another place and found ourselves at Rancho El Molcajete. Definitely not disappointed! Service was amazing food was even more amazing. I adore this little place! We've been a handful of times for dinner and seem to always be the only people in there, which isn't all that bad when you have a moody toddler with you who enjoys having the place to herself. The margaritas are always perfectly strong and the food is great. The tamales are a great balance of sweet and meaty. My favorite is a dish with one chicken enchilada and a side of chicken and chorizo mixed together with queso. It's great the next day with eggs too if you happen to have any left over. read more

One of the few places in Atlanta that actually feels Mexican. Really nice wait staff, delicious food, and the Michelada's are on point at this place. Food is ridiculously cheap and they give very generous portions. Soccer was on all the televisions and there was a small karaoke gig going on in the corner. Overall, A+ for authenticity, friendly staff, and delicious food. Don't let the scary facade of the building run you away. Go on in, they're really nice and you wont be disappointed. read more

I have eaten here several times and the staff is always friendly. This is a small Mexican restaurant but the food is just as good as some of the bigger restaurant s. However on some Saturdays during lunch they are a little short on staff but they make up for it with their friendly nature. So if you're on this side of town, check then out. read more
