First time to Filos and it did not disappoint! We were greeted and seated right away. Even though we sat right outside of the kitchen everything was wonderful. Victoria was our server and was very attentive during our meal. We started with calamari and chicken and sausage gumbo. We both had the nightly special- I had Maui Maui with a shrimp and crab creole sauce and hubby had the short ribs. Of course we shared the key lime pie for dessert. There wasn't a wait and we got a table immediately. After perusing the menu we placed our orders. The food started to arrive by 12:46. My salad was disappointing because the proteins were buried under the lettuce. But it was delicious and the chicken was there. It just didn't present well. Have been wanting to check this place out for quite some time as I have heard nothing but great reviews. We finally went to celebrate my wife's birthday, and after a short wait, we were seated. The place is nicely decorated, the atmoshere was inviting and the staff was very busy. Our waiter whom I may say, was exceptional in every way, greeted us as soon as we sat down, took our drink orders and when he returned we ordered an appetizer, Roasted Parmesan Crusted Cauliflower, which was absolutely amazing. Our dinner order consisted of Cajun Filet with Mashed Potatoes for me and my wife had the Southerner Cobb Salad. My filet was by far the best that I have ever had! My wife loved her salad as well. Of course it was her birthday so we had to have dessert. Carrot Cake for me and Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream for her. We could have ordered only one as they were both large enough for two people. As was my Filet, the Carrot Cake was the absolute best I've ever tasted. Very moist, not too sweet, and way more than I could eat, so yes I had to carry half of it home, same with the brownie. The staff are all outstanding. The have a few beers on tap, one was a regional offering so I had to try that. But they also have wine and several cocktails that looked amazing. I'd definitely try a cocktail next time! I ordered the Stockyard Steak Salad:marinated tenderloin, bleu cheese crumbles, smokehouse bacon, diced local tomatoes, diced avocado, croutons, micro greens, and house made blue cheese dressing. This salad was amazing! It was huge, fresh, and so so flavorful. The dressing was top notch. Definitely try this salad! My boyfriend ordered the Tims Ford Chicken Club: grilled chicken, bacon, tomato, local swiss, avocado, honey mustard with a side of fries. The sandwich was ginormous and I was lucky to try a bite. Came here on a Friday night at 5:30. The restaurant appeared full, but we were seated in about 5 minutes. We were greeted right away and the waitress answered any of our questions. Drinks and appetizers were served right away. The calamari was very good. I got the Cajun ribeye while my wife got the crab cakes. Both were very good. The deserts were also very good. We will definitely be back. A couple of suggestions. The mashed potatoes could have used a side of butter as they were a bit dry. The food was pretty good too. The menu was unique and the presentation was super nice. I have been twice now and both times wanted a little more flavor in the food. There were 4 of us & they do not take reservations for under 8 people, so we got there at 5:30 hoping to beat the crowd. We put our name in & were seated within 5 minutes. Our wait person was friendly & took our drink orders right away. We ordered a beer, Smoked Manhattan, iced tea & I had the Tavern Tequila Sunset (so good, I had a second). As soon as our drinks were delivered, our order was taken. We started with the calamari appetizer which was a special that night. Cooked perfect & very tasty! For our main course, the guys both ordered the Cajun Ribeye (12 oz. cajun rubbed & grilled & served with barrel aged Worcestershire sauce) & mashed potatoes. My daughter & I both ordered the Iron Skillet crab cake with fries. We all loved what we ordered!! Food was excellent & so was our server (wish I remembered her name)!! Filo's has some of the most tasty food in Winchester! Lots of options, recommend one of the burgers or a steak. I wasn't impressed with the blackened fish and rice but the fried shrimp were good. The service has always been friendly and I like the building itself. They recently installed some auditory boxes to dampen the noise and it helps a lot. My wife & I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary this past Friday. The restaurant was a recommendation from a business associate. I had made a reservation for 6pm earlier in the week. We arrived and there was a line outside the Tavern and inside. As soon as we went in and told the young lady that we had a reservation we were immed seated. I was kind of surprised at that figuring we would have a 10 min or so wait. We were not rushed at all and the water for the whole course was great.
