Found this gem on the last night of our Tim's Fore Lake trip. Downtown Winchester. First WIN was our server Gracie H. Effervescent, knowledgeable, pleasant...all the things you want from a server. We are envious of her 5th grade students. Loved the atmosphere of Filos. Design was corporates the prior building exteriors. Busy and lively when we arrived yet now wait for the three os us. Ordered two Expresso martinis. Creamy with good body...although they could be a bit larger! Wine selection was more than sufficient. Ordered the steak egg rolls. Not to be missed especially with the dipping sauce. Companions split a wedge salad and filet. Cooked just right and tasty. NYO mashed potatoes were different but well made. I had the Steak Diane special. Again steak cooked as I requested although I would order medium rare if I did it again. Plenty of meat with a bit left over for the pup waiting at home. Green beans were al dente which is how I liked them (not mushy) Succumbed to Gracie's suggestion of key lime pie. Ample size for three people with no artificial taste. We live near Nashville so the pricing was wonderful and great value. Loved the atmosphere/vibe. Will definitely return upon our next visit to the area. read more

The service was great! We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome! I forgot to get her name but on my receipt it has PM B as our server. She was a treat! We had the cauliflower and cheddar soup and calamari for appetizers...amazing! Husband had the Mongolian ribeye with the whiskey baked beans and Mac & cheese...phenomenal! I had the salmon with shrimp special with jalapeño creamed corn..super yummy! The drinks we had were really good too! Atmosphere is rustic elegance. We were referred to eat here and loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The food is amazing, we all ordered fish and each dish was fresh with seasoned veggies. We also spotted the Carrott Cake and had to try it. Again, "Delicious" and the piece was the size of a brick and served warm. The staff were very friendly and polite. Bummer for Winchester, this place is a little overrated but one of the only upscale spots to eat. It was loud and crowded and very expensive. The food was good but nothing blew me away. We tried 5 dishes and they were all decent but not worth the $20+ each. Also, small portions for the price. The building was beautiful and our waitress was okay but very busy. read more

First time to Filos and it did not disappoint! We were greeted and seated right away. Even though we sat right outside of the kitchen everything was wonderful. Victoria was our server and was very attentive during our meal. We started with calamari and chicken and sausage gumbo. We both had the nightly special- I had Maui Maui with a shrimp and crab creole sauce and hubby had the short ribs. Of course we shared the key lime pie for dessert. Lord knows I'm falling behind on the My Humble Opinion reviews. I visited Filo's Tavern last October, and this is my humble opinion. We arrived at 12:22 on October,3. There wasn't a wait and we got a table immediately. After perusing the menu we placed our orders. The food started to arrive by 12:46. My salad was disappointing because the proteins were buried under the lettuce. But it was delicious and the chicken was there. It just didn't present well. All in all I feel like this place tried to hard, was over priced and didn't really deliver. Man bun energy. read more

The Ahi tuna salad was very disappointing. The tuna was threaded with inedible tendons. And, it had been seared in the morning, then refrigerated; it was not freshly seared before serving. I showed the waitress that the meat was full of inedible tendons; she said she'd point that out to someone, but there was no offer of a discount. read more

Came here on a Friday night at 5:30. The restaurant appeared full, but we were seated in about 5 minutes. We were greeted right away and the waitress answered any of our questions. Drinks and appetizers were served right away. The calamari was very good. I got the Cajun ribeye while my wife got the crab cakes. Both were very good. The deserts were also very good. We will definitely be back. A couple of suggestions. The mashed potatoes could have used a side of butter as they were a bit dry. Second, by the time we left the restaurant there had to be 20-30 people waiting to get in. So if you show up around 6, you will probably have a long wait time. read more

We were in town and I desperately needed a salad and a good meal. Filos was absolutely amazing and was one of my favorite meals during my trip. The interior is clean and spacious while still be warm. The staff are all outstanding. The have a few beers on tap, one was a regional offering so I had to try that. But they also have wine and several cocktails that looked amazing. I'd definitely try a cocktail next time! I ordered the Stockyard Steak Salad:marinated tenderloin, bleu cheese crumbles, smokehouse bacon, diced local tomatoes, diced avocado, croutons, micro greens, and house made blue cheese dressing. This salad was amazing! It was huge, fresh, and so so flavorful. The dressing was top notch. Definitely try this salad! My boyfriend ordered the Tims Ford Chicken Club: grilled chicken, bacon, tomato, local swiss, avocado, honey mustard with a side of fries. The sandwich was ginormous and I was lucky to try a bite. I would also order this if we ever get the opportunity to return. The chicken was juicy and everything had so much flavor. I can not recommend this restaurant enough! The atmosphere, the food and the service is phenomenal! Everything we had was perfectly prepared and the servers are friendly and very knowledgeable. Have been wanting to check this place out for quite some time as I have heard nothing but great reviews. We finally went to celebrate my wife's birthday, and after a short wait, we were seated. The place is nicely decorated, the atmoshere was inviting and the staff was very busy. Our waiter whom I may say, was exceptional in every way, greeted us as soon as we sat down, took our drink orders and when he returned we ordered an appetizer, Roasted Parmesan Crusted Cauliflower, which was absolutely amazing. Our dinner order consisted of Cajun Filet with Mashed Potatoes for me and my wife had the Southerner Cobb Salad. My filet was by far the best that I have ever had! My wife loved her salad as well. Of course it was her birthday so we had to have dessert. Carrot Cake for me and Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream for her. We could have ordered only one as they were both large enough for two people. As was my Filet, the Carrot Cake was the absolute best I've ever tasted. Very moist, not too sweet, and way more than I could eat, so yes I had to carry half of it home, same with the brownie. We just had (again) an amazing meal at Filo's. I had the prime rib sandwich which was cooked to perfection. I also had the trifle fries, which I get every time. They are so good!! My husband had the almond trout (special) and it was so moist and delicious. Our waitress, Ashley, was amazing and so attentive! Went here on a Friday last month for my son-in-law's birthday (our first time at Filo's). There were 4 of us & they do not take reservations for under 8 people, so we got there at 5:30 hoping to beat the crowd. We put our name in & were seated within 5 minutes. Our wait person was friendly & took our drink orders right away. We ordered a beer, Smoked Manhattan, iced tea & I had the Tavern Tequila Sunset (so good, I had a second). As soon as our drinks were delivered, our order was taken. We started with the calamari appetizer which was a special that night. Cooked perfect & very tasty! For our main course, the guys both ordered the Cajun Ribeye (12 oz. cajun rubbed & grilled & served with barrel aged Worcestershire sauce) & mashed potatoes. My daughter & I both ordered the Iron Skillet crab cake with fries. We all loved what we ordered!! Food was excellent & so was our server (wish I remembered her name)!! Last, we ordered the cheesecake & a brownie (nuts) with ice cream to share. Glad we decided to share, as I was too full to eat much. Perfect evening with great food, drink & service!!
