We are from out of town and we were craving Mexican. Stopped off the day before Cinco de Mayo. Greeted by the staff and sat in a booth. Our waiter, came and we ordered two Medium Margaritas and Chicken Fajitas for two. Margaritas were fantastic. Perfect blend and the perfect size. Chicken fajitas were enough for another meal at home. Great portions. Our waiter was delightful and very helpful with our questions. Highly recommend this spot if you are craving yummy Mexican. read more

Owners are very rude and disrespectful but the workers are kind. The food is okay but it's hard to enjoy with Mrs. Garcia who was very rude and didnt offer any help or assistance at all. She denied us a table at first but once we finally got into the restaurant, she refused to serve us and made someone else do it. read more

To think that paid $26 for this just make me upset. Ordered the street tacos with the chorizo on the side, and an order of grilled shrimp. Mind you, this is the first Mexican place that adds chorizo to whatever protein street tacos you order. So that threw me off, but should have been a red flag. I get home only to find barely seasoned chicken on the tacos, no seasoning at all on the shrimp, and an oily mess of chorizo. Thank baby Jesus I got chorizo on the side because that would have pissed me off. Took one taste of the chorizo and wouldn't dare try it again. The tacos are dry and normally when I order street tacos from anywhere it comes with few slices of lime and jalapeño. Both were nowhere to be found. The only seasoning on the shrimp was literally from it being on the grill. Not even salt and pepper. Never ordering from here again. read more

I'm a resident in Tullahoma, and this is by far my favorite Mexican place. The food is always delicious, and on the off chance that they get something wrong they get a replacement out in just a few minutes. The waiters are super friendly and get the food out super fast. Last time I went, there were four of us, and we had been seated, waited on, drinks gotten, and food out within about 15 minutes. read more

Stopped in here for a quick lunch to go while working in the Tullahoma area. I decided to try the poblano rellenos, but instead of ground beef I asked for carne asada on top. Yum! I also got a side of Guacamole Casero which was great ( I would have liked a little more lime though). I was surprised by the size of the building it was huge, but from the time they opened at 11 am until I left with my order, people were piling in. I was very pleased with the excellent service, the taste of the food. And the portion sizes easily made for 2-3 meals. I will definitely be back whenever I'm back in Tullahoma visiting patients or some of my doctors. read more

My husband and I had dinner here on Monday the 17th of April and had a delightful experience! The restaurant is very clean and attractively decorated, with bright colors and a nice mural on one of the walls. The place is large, but is sectioned off to give it a more intimate feel. The servers were very friendly and welcoming, and attentive without being too much. Their menu is extensive, and their prices are very reasonable. My husband had the carnitas, which were very tender and tasty, and I had the Chile Relleno dinner with cheese sauce on top, which was FANTASTIC!! All in all, it was a great meal. We will definitely be back, and recommend El Costal to anyone who wants great Mexican cuisine. read more

This is our new favorite Mexican spot! The food is always delicious and fresh, and they have generous portions. Prompt, friendly service. Nice atmosphere with plenty of space for larger parties. So many Mexican restaurants pour on tons of seasoning and leave me feeling like I drank from a jar of salt, but this place seasons perfectly and our sensitive stomachs are always happy when we leave. Las Trojans is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is large and the tables and booths are loosely arranged. Feel comfortable with covid-19 going on. The food is good and plentiful. Their salsa is delicious and the Margaritas are supreme. read more

As they say south of the border... NO BUENO! I've given this restaurant a few tries and it always is mediocre and disappointing. I think I'm finally done giving it another chance. I'm from Texas & I know good Mexican food or Tex Mex. This is not it. Service is attentive but the wait staff can't really communicate other than asking what you want and if you are ok. Margaritas - gross & definitely the product of a cheap mix Enchiladas - No real flavor & sloppy Tacos - soggy & bland Chalupas - soggy, way too covered in beans and inedible Cheese Dip - thin but one of the only satisfying things on the menu Salsa - pretty good Chips - mostly good, some bad. My mission when I moved here back in April of 2022 was to find a new mexican restaurant to go to. Out of all the different options in Tullahoma, El Costal has been my favorite. The service is always great and they have my favorite salsa. The Costal dip is really yummy also. Fantastic food and service at Las Trojas! I live to call in and pick up a taco salad for lunch, and it's always ready very quickly...good delicious food served quickly! Late review - I actually visited in the month of September. Not being from the area, and barely knowing where we were (down the road from the Bourbon trail, I think) - this was a place that was recommended to us by the ladies in the shoe store just a few doors down. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and good staff. Lunch was served quickly, portions were a good size, food was appetizing and good quality and price. The margaritas were yummy and the large ones were huge...drinking from a fish bowl is the way to go. The chips were nice and thin and warm when arriving at the table. The salsa was tasty, not great but tasty. I had the Chile Verde, sadly it was not a yummy pork that had been slow simmered in a great tomatilla....it was in all actuality a red meat thinly sliced cooked on a grill and had the sauce poured on the top. It was still flavorful but not what a Chile Verde could have been. The hubby and my Dad had the burrito mexicano...they both raved about the flavor and were very happy with them. The entire staff was friendly, courteous and very attentive. The restaurant was nice and clean and plenty of room for a ton of patrons. Pretty decent for a Mexican restaurant in small town Tennessee. I've been here a few times and enjoyed the food greatly. Recent, I had a hankering for tacos and ordered four carnitas tacos to go, which came out in roughly 5 minutes... Bam! Chips and salsa were included (we got the house regular and a bonus HOT as well) and each taco came with two tortillas (i appreciate being given the choice of corn or flour) and enough filling to make two decent sized tacos out of them. I thought the carnitas were some of the tastiest I've had lately--they were garnished with the minimal (and authentic) addition of chopped onions and cilantro, just the perfect amount of salt. Pico would've been a good addition but I'm not crying too much. Sadly, the tacos were so delicious I wasn't able to take any photos before wolfing them down. As to location and ambiance: aside from being in a strip mall, this isn't a bad place! Trivia night was fun and I see plenty of families and groups in here, though the interior is a little dark. I would say this is your best bet for Mexican food in this town. The only bummer is I can't find cabeza or lengua anywhere anymore. read more

came in with extremely low expectations but needed to grab some food before going on whiskey tours in the area. one wouldn't expect excellent mexican food in TN but this place actually got the job done. nothing really great but nothing was bad either, just straight fwd mexican food. some dishes came out too soggy or with way too much cheese, but the chips were fresh and salsa tasty. friendly service. not a bad option if ur in the area. read more
